This came along at just the right time. I've been working on linking scales up and down the neck, learning the intervals and notes. I have a ways to go re: fluency, but this lesson provides a great tool. Thank you Stringjoy!

I've almost signed up with Guitar Mastery several times. I have changed my mind most of time due to excessive emails , seriously excessive . But I have to say , Eddies teaching manner and the time he takes with these lessons that he's networked up with Stringjoy for, are definitely making me consider it again. Thanks Stringjoy and Eddie for this series. PS.. I have Stringjoy strings on about 20-25 of my guitars now.

I don't normally comment too often on videos, but I felt that this was deserving of a shout out. This is an excellent lesson. You demonstrate and explain double stops really well, and do so in a very practical way that can be quickly put to use musically. Thank you for doing this, I really enjoyed it, and I learned some good stuff!

5ths are power chords, although they sometimes add the octave
4ths are basically reverse 5ths (You can play them with the root being the higher note, not the lower one) Lots of Deep Purple and Rainbow songs use 4ths/reverse 5ths.
Think one of the most iconic riffs for guitar-Smoke on the Water.
I was once in a music store playing minor pentatonic scales in 4ths.
The guy working there was quite impressed and I wasn’t doing anything tricky.
He offered me a job teaching guitar.
But I wasn’t able to at that time with stuff going on at the time.

Wht do you have overdrive on? It's clearer if you play it clean no effects. And easier for someone to learn without the overtones. It's confusing. Everyone plays loud with all these effects. That's ok if you're performing but teaching especially novices their ears as attacked.

No overdrive. Just compression, a slight boost, and some low mix reverb/delay. My signal isn’t swimming with effects. What parts exactly are you having a hard time hearing?
Keep in mind with double stops you’re going to hear overtones regardless.

Some people just like to complain I guess. Just use YTs ability to slow down to 50% if you can't see/hear this good enough. And work on your spelling and basic sentence structure. Hard to understand what you're saying.

guitar sounds great but I understand whaT HE IS SAYING. Are you boosting the mids? Sometimes sounding good makes your playing sound better.

@@ekartpa no, but P90s are naturally pretty midrange-forward
