simon i could listen to you forever - you BRing soul and emotion to the world aka humanity - can i say this talk was a perfect example of how emotion and intelligence draw us in, make us want to connect - the professor was so professorial, business is so businessy; stoic, tempered, detatched. we had better all start learning how to care about the process not just drive toward the outcome. keep doing such great work. please

I was given Jack Welch's book by my manager a couple of years ago. Some were practical advice like how to manage people, but it seems that Jack didn't seems practice what he said in his book about people management when he fired people like that!
Moreover, he kills many good businesses in GE for short term gains which at that time makes him looked like a god who can turn the tables around just like that. However, what we witness today is America's business and business ethics had decline to the extent that it is destroying the country itself! US's decline was basically because of the 'greed is good' & greedflation chased after by Jack and his generation of CEOs.
Simon had so much wisdom in him that it amazes me!

We need optimism and most of all love in this world not hate. Martin Luther King said Hate destroys the very structure of the personality of the hater.... when you start hating anybody, it destroys the very center of your creative response to life and the universe; so love everybody.

Simon, you have the ability to bring soul and feeling to the world, which is known as humanity. Can I just say that this talk was a fantastic illustration of how knowledge and emotion captivate us and encourage us to connect - The lecturer was stoic, temperate, and detached; business is so businessy. We must all begin to care about the process rather than just pushing for the result. keep up the excellent work.

I really wish I could talk to Simon about an employee that was hired onto my team that should not have been hired initially. They are resistant to coaching and seemingly cannot operate autonomously with clear expectations. Haven't found any good resources on how to handle this yet.

Any reason there is a lack of follow up questions or a true back and forth conversation?

Nothing personal against him, I'm sure he's a good person, but there are a lot of lessons from this moderator on what NOT to do when guiding a conversation. No expansion or probing questions on what Simon is sharing, it's almost like he can't process what he's saying and or isn't even listening (ironic, given the content and topics). He should not be in this role at all.

I thought this but I think he has a bunch of questions from people in the class he’s trying to get through as quick as possible due to the time they have.

But yes it does feel uncomfortable not responding to the answer and just moving on, but I look at it from a comedic perspective
