I bought the Alligator head for a 5 year old and had the same problem as you.
I opened up the boat and found a bat solder joint, soldered it again and it works wonderful. Has been several hours of joy for this little boy.
IF you are getting in to this kind of Hobby you have to learn some electronics and how to find and correct errors with it, otherwise i will cost you a ton of money.

It would be nice to see much larger boats for cheap. Powerful electronics are cheap these days, the hulls are just formed plastic. In reality 3ft fast boats shouldn't be much more money.
@@theoztreecrasher2647I'm an auto body worker. Typical front bumper covers are $500 plus. So yeah I know. But $70 boats with cheap hydroformed bodies shouldn't be much more just for a bigger hull.
@@theoztreecrasher2647 that is by design though. In the old days the printers were $400 and the ink was $30. Now the printers are $50 and the ink is $50, it is how they make money on the printer. Buy a Business grade printer for $300+ and the ink is cheaper. Consumers got all greedy and wanted the cheapest initial price so that is how they make their money, on the ink refills.

Interesting timing. I've just returned to a RC Boat building project. While not interested in a Ready to "sail" boats like these. I've a fair amount of experience with RC Flying...but this will be my first boat. Trying to figure out all the differences for setting up the internals in a boat is a bit of a challenge...but making some progress. (FYI: I'm building a 1/32 scale British Motor Torpedo Boat...no...it won't actually fire torpedoes)

I own the Sonicwake, the problem with cheap boats is they're discontinued in a couple of years and hard to get parts.

A little tip on how to get less resistance between the water and your boats Hull,I use ceramic wax on the hull and it makes it slick ,Iike waxing a snowboard

Been doing research for the last month because I bought a $12 RC and LOVED it, been going to lakes and ponds just for this and I’d like to get more into the hobby! Got the Udi908 on the faith of this video, hope I’m not let down (I doubt I will be ☺️)
I like the idea of kitbashing the alligator head onto a better boat. Just make sure the boat doesn’t end up being top-heavy and unable to self-right. Probably need to fill the void with styrofoam so the head always wants to float and offers less area for water to pool and weigh down the head if it gets submerged while tilted/inverted.

Just bought the UdiRC Udi908 do to such great information and the vidio from TheRcSaylors since I'm going to be new to the rc boat world and very much so looking forward too it I need a little help finding two extra battery's for the boat I have contacted customer service from Banggood with no help go figure! I need wear and correct idem number. Please help and thanks to all in doing so!!!

Hi from Greece. As always a great review. but i have a small question to make, if you are in a country who have so much sea and not lakes what boat you can use ? Because salt water can destroy everything in minutes.
All I know is that Sonic wake is a beast
Not sure if you ever drove a UDI Arrow rc boat...( Or UDI005 ).
They are a blast about 30 mph out of the box and turn on a dime. RTR with battery at around $130.
Just a thought if you have never had or ran one.

Hey Rc Saylors.
If anyone can help me, I believe you can! I will be turning 81 this Fall and would like to get an RC Boat to run around in the Pond I have out back. It's not a small pond, but also not a large one! I know that sounds bizarre, but it's the best I can do since I'm a Disabled Veteran and have limits as to what I can do. That being said, a couple of Summers ago, I made a foolish mistake and thought that buying a FAST rc boat would be cool - WRONG! Between my eyesight and my not-so-quick reflexes, I had my Granddaughters running here and there retrieving my boat! So, now I've learned my lesson and would like to try out this water sport again. Actually, if I had to guess, I would say my pond is approximately 150 yards long and maybe 50 yards wide, too much of a trek for an old man like me to walk around through the tall grass. I have it mowed a couple of times in each Season, but it's too expensive to do that regularly. I would like to have something like a reasonable Tug Boat, not too expensive, but I don't know who to trust or what brand.
Any suggestions??? I just subbed your channel and will attempt to catch you in answering my couple of questions. In this world, I don't trust leaving my email in this public venue, so I will have to keep checking back.

Regarding the tiger shark 1st boat, you inform us the boat has a safe speed & full speed settings - I assume the throttle on either setting is fully proportional operation ?? - the more you accelerate on rc stick, the faster / slower it goes - all my boats have engines :) & fully proportional radio gear same transmitter as my aircraft & as out of boating for 25 years & wanted to take a boat out with grandson, needed to know that it is fully proportional and able to trickle along initially as he starts & gains experience

Can you sail these on saltwater?
yes, but clean them out with fresh water as the metal pipes ( heatsink ) that go around the motor will corrode if not flushed out with fresh water. Only do it with completely sealed units as the salt will short out radio equipment if the receiver or ESC gets wets. I wouldn't trust sub $100 boats to salt water but the better ones should be ok, if on smooth water.

I bought the velocity H102 and I think I stripped the drive gear trying to free it from the weeds because the motor runs but it doesn't move 😥 can it be fixed? How??? Or just replace the boat?

For the Udi 908 do you know what type of C battery it is? Like 20c or 30c? It’s a 1500mah 3S, but doesn’t give the C rating. Looking to buy batteries off Amazon. Thanks.
