I'm not a creative person when it comes to my notes and planning. I think the 3 reasons that made me want to use Apple Notes more than anything is that: 1. I like to-do lists and being able to check them off so easily. Same with grocery lists. That's what I can do in Apple Notes compared to GoodNotes 6 where you have to zoom in and draw a checkmark with your finger or apple pencil which takes too much time. 2. I'm not a creative person, so the simplicity of Apple Notes is just what I need to be able to do everything I need to do. I don't care about the extra stuff to customize my notebooks on GoodNotes 6. 3. It's FREE!! I can do everything I want to on Apple Notes without having to pay a dime!! Also, I love that you can import pictures into the notes. So if I want to have a monthly bill layout, I can download one from google and put it in a note. I can either write in it using my handwriting or use the pencil that turns my writing into text! Nothing beats Apple Notes in my opinion. I don't care about how cute it is. I'm very simple.
I was trying to use Apple Notes with my Apple Pencil but every time I stop to think then finish my thought, the keyboard pops up ugh it’s so frustrating. I wanted to write, not type. If I need to type, I don’t need an iPad.
The free version of Evernote (which was already limited to a measly 50 notes in one notebook) has just been cut down to ONE device, and the web version counts as a device. And you can only switch the device 2 x per month.
If your getting an app for practice test or past paper solving I recommend getting goodnotes, the tabs make it really easy to switch through notes (I used it to quickly switch from the past paper to the mark scheme) that being said I got it for really cheap when it was goodnotes 5 for only about 3$
I want to write not type but typewriter keeps popping up and iPad wiring experience hasn’t been so good either because it changes everything I write into text and gets some Words wrong. So frustrating. If it takes a college course to learn how to use note taking app that’s not time efficient. I want to do what I’m trying to do.

I am a soccer scout. I use paper notebooks when I go out to watch matches. Of all these Apps you have suggested, what's the best App that converts your digital handwritten notes to text? I have gone to the Apple Store and messed around with the Notes App that is on all Apple Products. I don't like how you can't write out all your notes and then convert it to text. Essentially I am looking for a good Note taking App that can easily convert my handwritten notes on the iPad to Text so I can then have an easier time transferring the information into Word so I can then finish writing the reports.
Hi there, from all the apps I've tested, Nebo has the best handwriting to text conversion. So, if that's THE feature you're looking for in a notetaking app, I'd go and try out Nebo for free for a couple weeks. I'm sure you'll be happy with it 🙃
I found a glitch to use apple notes without getting ipad "that" hot, make an on my iPad acc and write notes in it, once completed shift it to icloud one
Same I am facing the same issue from past couple of days, when I checked the system resources, the apple notes is taking 90 percent of all cpu processing and heating up too much that I got to stop my notes, i am now finding for an alternative
Check out it on iOS 18 They fixed it i am currently on dev version of ipad os 18 and it works well for hours , but sometimes auto refine handwriting not works coz it still in beta ver. But now i am facing crashing issues , ig ipad os 18 will have best notes app ever
I want to write a complete story on a single page similar to apple notes, but it lags and heats up heavily while using pencil. is there any alternative similar to same page writing like apple note can any one suggest me that.
What's the difference between the subscription and one-time purchase of penbook? They have almost the identical price so there's got to be a difference
@@nithinkumar007 Yes but when the yearly price is 40 bucks and the lifetime price is 49 then it doesn't ever make sense to pay the subscription unless there's a difference.
That's a fair question. There's no difference between what you unlock with sub or one-time purchase. The subscription just allows you to pause it whenever you feel like. It's also a great way to test the full app for a month or two before deciding whether or not it's worth spending 49$ to get it. Hope this helps.
Actually, every app presented in the video allows for seamless typed text notes. But yes, you're right in the sense that it highlights more some of the handwriting features.
Wow, I think you're one of the first people mentionning INKredible in the comment section of our videos. To be honest, I have not tried it yet myself, but it's on a long list of apps I still want to test. What's your favorite features on it?
@@Paperlike The truth is that I used the application just a bit, because like you, I was comparing it with others to see which was better. But my tablet broke and I couldn't use it anymore (obviously...). I haven't been able to buy another tablet yet, I hope to order it soon and try INKcredible again.☺️👍
Obsidian, just like Notion, is an incredibly powerful tool. In this video I chose to highlight apps that allow for BOTH handwriting and typed notes to reflect the flexibility the iPad allows for. Some focus more on text, others on handwriting, but all 13 give users some flexibility into how they can input their notes.

@@JezArnold you definitely cant draw in obsidian, unless maybe if there’s an existing plugin for it, but you can tap on keyboard with Apple pencil which i am sure is unnecessary. But this video is about note taking apps, not drawing apps.

Woow, that's really bad news... Sadly this really reduces Evernote's attractivity for users who want to use the free version.
With Notability you can sync to Google Drive...so there's that.

I’m using the M4 iPad Pro, and unfortunately, Apple Notes causes the iPad to overheat quite a bit in longer note-taking sessions 🙁🙁

uhhh that's one that has been on my list but never really got to it. What are some of your favorite features within the app?
Apple note is unusable for long handwriting sessions because it overheats when you write too much.
Totally agree….impossible to use with my M2 iPad Pro which is why I looked up this video to find an alternative

same situation as the first reply.. the pencil bugs out too
what about Noteful...🙄😐...really love its Layers feature....
That’s the best one
It’s one of the most popular rn even. It’s a must for this type of video
It would definitely be in a top 15 of mine. I could probably extend the list to 20 actually, and still some relevant apps would be left out actually 😅
