    You are truly a kind and lovely lady. Thank you for these lessons.🌺 Lol.....you spoke of naughty flowers! so funny! I will remember this next time I design and banish those rebels for perhaps the next arrangement.

      What a lovely compliment this is, Gretta! Thank you for this delightful post and for spending some time here to watch another Live. If you ever want to join us on the show, it airs on Wednesdays at 3:00 pm Pacific Time, and you can ask questions of Leanne and the FDI teachers while they design. Yes, there are naughty flowers and we have to make them behave for our floral designs. Sometimes it is better to use them in something different. We hope that your life is filled with beautiful flowers and we look forward to having you here with us again soon!

    These are such lovely arrangements! I'm still fairly new to floral arranging, but I'm wondering how long do flowers in foam and floral netting last? And how can I freshen the water if I'm using foam?

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  Рік тому +2

      Those are excellent questions and very important ones, Galaxyjam! When working in foam, we do suggest leaving a little space around the foam so that you can insert a small watering can or test tube filler to add water to the floral design. With floral netting the reservoir for water is usually larger and and can be filled more easily. Adding (and/or changing) water is so important to make sure the flowers stay fresh and beautiful. We're happy to help in any way we can and please consider our channel to be a resource for you as you learn more about floral design. Hello Imelda! We went make and looked at the video and Leanne was working with an orange cube and a tall orange vase. In both of those she placed clean water and flower food so the flowers would be fresh and beautiful. We do have flower food available on our website her: www.floraldesigninstitute.com/products/fresh-flower-food-individual-pack-10-ounce-tub It really works well to support the vase life of the flowers. Thank you for joining us for Live and we hope to see you again soon. Sending you best wishes for all that you do and hope all goes well for you!

    How much would these arrangements be priced at?

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  9 місяців тому +1

      That's an excellent question, Reagan 1980! It really depends on how much the materials cost wholesale and how much product you use for each design plus your labor and time in creating them. Tropical flowers tend to cost more depending on where you are in the world because they must be flown from one place to another. We encourage people to pick up price lists from floral wholesalers to see what flowers and foliage cost these days. The prices will vary seasonally and depending on what's available. Thank you for taking the time to watch our show, and we hope you will visit us again soon. Best wishes to you and please enjoy flowers whenever you can!

    Hi
    Do you make artifical flower arrangements

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  5 місяців тому

      Hello Anita and thank you for stopping by to watch Live! That's a great question and we're so glad you asked it. We work mostly in fresh flowers although we occasionally add permanent botanicals (silk flowers) and also dried flowers into our floral designs. Our focus is on fresh flowers for the most part, but the skills and techniques we teach also work with silk flowers as well. We hope you will spend more time with us in the coming weeks and we look forward to that opportunity. Wishing you a marvelous week in all that you do and hope you have fabulous flowers wherever you go!

    I found all these arrangements overworked. The lovely line with which the artist began the arranagemtn in the orange vase got obscured by all the foliage. The sharp angles of the orange vase and the heliconia quickly became obscured when they could have been exploited. I couldn't find balance in the arrangement in the round vase.

    Your last design, I would have gone taller. It just seems a bit short with the length of the Anthiriums

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  Рік тому

      That's an interesting observation, Marianne! Leanne probably would have gone taller with the liatris, but she wanted to keep the floral design within the frame of the camera. Shortening the anthuriums a little might have been the easiest solution. Thank you for sharing your perspective on this marvelous floral design, and we hope you will stop by this weekend to see all of the photos. Wishing you a superb week and hope you will enjoy flowers too!
