Apologies on the late upload, accidentally scheduled the video for tomorrow by mistake!
Nah it's chill 💯💯
For evil or good U need the good and evil Shops. There U can buy for souls and with every buy U get +1 evel or good.
Im just happy I can enjoy you playing some more tiny rogues ❤
You forgot to eat the food. 27:26
Just an FYI, you can repeatly activate a companion item to get multiples of the companion.
Edit: Looks like you figured it out.
Theres a magic tome that buffs companions and summons 4 imps its pretty fun
While the new alignment system is somewhat obtuse, it's very funny to hear people say "oh no now I'll never get to heaven!"
15:30 Keep in mind you can attune for free at the fire. So you can bring the scarf and just have it in your inventory, and when you are at a fire you can equip it, attune, refresh your flasks and quaff the potions for those juicy Soul Hearts. Then reequip your previous accesory.
What are you talking about? He did this basically the entire run and the run prior to this.
@@loquitran1Not exactly. They are saying that Retro can use another accessory the entire run and only equip the scarf at the bonfire to do this gimmick. So he could cheese it even more
@@IottiPH he *literally* did that this video with the legendary accessory. I swear its like people dont actually watch the video
@@themadichib0d Yeah, he did it at the end. Commenting on videos while watching is pretty common if you don't know.
And the op didn't say anything negative, just giving a nice tip. Why so offended?
Steady Strikes has to be one of my favorite perks. On slow heavy hitting builds that focus on things like infliction stacks like Paper Bomb Kunai or Damage Over Time effects you can deal some insane damage numbers, especially when you get some gear that grants you a ton of attack speed. It may sound counterintuitive but using Beef with it and forgoing dexterity's attack speed is pretty strong since there is also an item that gives you more top end damage per strength.
46:40 The obsidian key had a companion weight of 0.5, i think that means you could have had twice as many of them. I haven't played the game so I am unsure of this. Also the bees were 0.3 so you could have had many of those too? Please let me know if my thinking on this is accurate.
You are correct. The Fetish Demons he finds near the end of the run even have .25 weight, meaning with 7 capacity he could have had 28 demons at once.
You are right
That gives me strong Bat Family vibes
The heaven and hell gates are indeed alternate paths, so you don’t have to worry about doing a 2 hour run :p
Also, some of the tainted classes do have good summoning synergies to play with later
The thing about summon builds is you have to build off what the summon offers you. Your shrimps give you +80% damage to Guns and Cannons per shrimp. Even if you didnt build into guns your pets alone would have boasted the gun damage immensely if you used one.
Sure, but when there is a summon build perk that removes that, it implies the existence of a summon damage build you have to understand. So either that perk shouldn't exist or summon damage builds need to be better in some way.
@@Retromation I know that trait is good on the Necromancer, as the skeletons he starts with have a companion weight of 0.3. Two extra slots lets him have 10 skeletons out at the same time. I am not to sure how they would scale thru the game however.
Edit: It actually scales pretty good if you get lucky, since Necromancer and its companions damage increases with held souls.
Think because youre lawful stat is so high, you dont receive the "negative" evil stat from black market
@Retromation at 20:00 the reason why you did not get more evil is because when you pawned off your items, THAT COUNTS AS AN EVIL interaction. Its a one time thing per underworld market. Basically, anything in the undermarket is an evil interaction
I think the main problem with the run was the +2 companion weight capacity, but gain no buffs from them perk simply being too underpowered (literally compare it to the hat that says -25% stats from companions, +1 companion weight capacity). Reason being, if you didn't have that perk, you would have had massive companion buffs, like with generic wolves I believe it would have doubled your attack speed. It's a shame, but hopefully there'll be a balance change and/or class that allows one to utilise them better.
i noticed that several of the summon items had a summon weight below 1. The bees was 0.3 so you could have has TONS of bees and the sword (which did shrimp damage) had weight of 0.5 so ya i think you missed out on the true power of summons.
I think now that you know more about the companion weight thing, some of the raw numbers especially on some of the dinkier companions might make more sense. I'm hoping there's still a good "average" not hyper-focused (like Necromancer) companion build out there somewhere.
oh man, absolutely love the complexity and detail, too bad it's a bullet hell and I firmly refuse to suffer those. Hoping the series keeps going tho, very fun to watch someone who enjoys and is good at it!
I started playing this game when I watched you play the first of this series. Today I got to floor 12 and won because I found some insane legendary called Matrix Bible. It was hitting for several hundred thousand, basically 1 shotting every boss.
The summons might've sucked but at least seeing the shrimp death squad surround the bosses was pretty funny.
at 1:04:04 there was an epic companion item the vodoo doll. Most of the stats arent too impressive (they are okay), but it says summon weight 0.25 (companion symbol) does that mean you get 4 summons for each normal summon for a total of 24... that could be INSANE if it works that way?
@@banaroklionrage9536 Keep in mind he had 7 companion weight when he saw the voodoo dolls, so thats 28 summons atttacking twice. it would have been viable
Yup, this is what the run was missing. The gear on it was OK, but the actual summon itself was low tier. Sort of like how any build using a low tier weapon that relies on the weapon damage will be meh, a build relying on pets but using low tier pets will be meh. The same applies to other summons he passed like the bees, the bees are .3 weight so with 7 capacity that's 23 bees. That's just a consequence of making videos for youtube of course, he doesn't have all the time in the world to read and figure out the mechanics in real time so he overlooked the capacity line.
Alternatively, this build would have been insane if he dumped the +2 summons and no stats trait. Like the shrimp all giving ranged damage boost X5 would be better than no boosts at X7 possibly even if he didn't have a ranged weapon, because the shrimp themselves deal ranged damage. The +2 but no stats can carry early game but falls off in a full companion build.
One of the best things about pets is that they can attack while you defend. The fights with the Final boss, your shrimp were doing steady damage while you were evading.
This. Retromation is unironically great at aiming and dodging so he gets fantastic damage with skillshot weapons, but for someone lower skill the companions would pull more weight while allowing the player to put far more attention on just surviving. There's some other details like him just not realizing companion weight is different on different summons that matters a lot, but yeah companions only feel worse the better of a player you are.
@@gooblop I like that the pets actually give you stats and special effects and aren't just damage generators. That makes them useful even if you're really good at the game; you can prioritize something other than the pet's raw dps when choosing a pet.
I think the item you're looking for is the Spirit talisman rare offhand. Companions gain crit chance equal to your weapon crit chance. Just found one in a run
to get the most out of summons you kinda have to play necromancer and there are summon weapons as well otherwise youre in for a rough time
Man.. that Goblin King fight looked ROUGH with the Deprived’s starting weapon range.
I saw you use your dash at the very end to get aggressive, and id say that’s probably the only option you have as this character to make the fight not as annoying… but then you’d be using your dash for offense instead of defense.
Other strategies would include, “just get a new weapon 4head,” and/or, “just don’t get that level 4head.”
Not all companians take a full slot. Some only take 0.5 slots.
1:19:30 malthael, which inspired this boss, uses the same attack in diablo 3. It's really cool to see all those different references in the game
I know I'm way behind on the videos and you may have figured this out already, but the event resins (like "fresh pine resin" in this video) are permanent! Should probably use the same texture as the shop permanent resins, but there it is.
1:16:00 I think you need to get rid of the guy who summons the clock ASAP in order to not get it thrice in a row. First stack seems inevitable but the rest you should take care of it seems
Selling in the black market also gives you evil! Although i have no idea what evil/good does yet.
When you chug so many of those meta jugs, it kinda makes the run a bit boring to watch.
Where's the risk when you can just chug as many hearts as you need on the next floor XD
It would have been funny seeing the screen full of voodoo minions or bees. i didn't know it worked that way, either. I was hoping he would just try a low weight summon randomly and be surprised at the screen full.
5:23 you say ReVEna or whatever uhh how do spell revena….
Does an item auto collect when you leave the room or do you just leave it behind?
I’d like to see you try a full companion run when you unlock the druid class. Sounds fun. 😊
Summon seems it could be fine with auras (they give bonus damage, so all summons deal bonus damage). Also there is a trait that gives you +10 power for each actor in the rooms up to 50, so this increases all your damage and the area of the auras to be practically full room
what even is an "actor" in this game btw?
@@rafaelfernandes6855 your character and your summons
@@otaconpas thanks!
Gotta say reto having access to a silly amount soul hearts is wrong. Man is just too good to have that much hp. Thankfully he when all in on build that sucks and still suffered.
It's just that shrimple
Is it just me, or does the Red Dragon resemble Trogdor the Burninator a little bit..?! 🤔 lol
1:27:40 - I don't know why, but your response here was much funnier to me than I expected it to be. Looking forward to the next run!
Good news (and ever so slightly spoilery but not really), the heaven/hell is a separate path after the 10th floor death, not in addition to the mega death.
btw, you can use the same companion item multiple times to spawn more of the same if you have companion space.
I'm still confused on how to have more than one summon. Whenever I try it just swaps them out.
Yea I didnt dare take a sip either, until like my 10th throne victory :D .
43.15 kangaroo gang will remember this moments.
Does you skill from playing so much etg carry over into other games? Like this one
pretty sure there is a dex trait that increase the summons damage based on how many you have
Is this the Jumbo Shimp i was told about?
"That is a child."

Giga Run! 🏃♂️➡️🫅
Man I wish this was on consoles
35:24 Another one
I agree with your secret room take, especially with this game
It’s a very fast paced game, and while secret rooms are cool, trying to find a secret room definitely halts the pace
Also, just asking, do you ever plan on playing more of the Nickelodeon fighting Roguelite game? I really enjoyed that video
The child esper seemingly seems like a Stranger Things reference since the show features a child with psychic powers.
After you try once to go to haven or hell u get a special shop like the law shop after the boss, witch have items that give good or evil. And you unlock the option go get to hell or haven or shadow witch os the Prima Death and get its place.
Hang on, you need to actually get to heaven or hell to get shops that make it easier to get to heaven or hell? Weird
@@hugofontes5708 that is exactly corect, because on a normal run u cant get enought good or evil to enter
@@superbus2608 oh, right, for a moment I forgot the game also forces you to make it to the shadow plane gate once before letting you in.
And beating death a bunch of times before getting to the gates
I HAVE THIS GAME AND I HATE IT. The movement is choppy and the combat is sluggish
Y'know what, for that one, I'm calling the IRS.
