Since your journey I have got sober and have 5 months. I went to detox July 17th, about a month and a half after you finished skating. Getting up every morning and watching your videos made me want to get better so bad. I'm not gonna say you're the reason I got sober, I did that for me. but watching your journey really did help me get in that mindset of wanting to change. You absolutely had a positive impact on me. All I wanted when I was watching your videos was to not feel sick anymore and I'm finally getting there. You seriously had a huge effect on people Chad. More than you know. Thank you.
Don’t get complacent. It’s probably gonna get very stale and miserable for a bit. Just keep grinding and it gets even better.

Hell yeah, good work! Stay strong. Deal with things as they come. Going back to the sauce/drug won't help anything. It gets easier with time.

It was falling apart. The coping was very loose. It started to be hazardous, so I think some guys took it off because it was getting pretty bad.
That makes total sense. Always assume positive intent, especially in a situation like this when it makes way more sense.
Moral is easy relit. Removing it is more of a hazard

This is exactly what happened, I’ve been skating that park for awhile and when I first started this was happening where it was all loose and wobbly. They were put to the side but removed by the town instead of being fixed
if you can and would remove a coping why wouldn't you just apply some cement and reglue them? THAT doesn't make much sense.
Missed your uploads, your skate across america was like a nice daily skate meditation.

In May I posted that 28 pieces of coping were missing. I've complained to the TOB parks department. Obviously, it fell on deaf ears. The coping was never installed correctly and began to fall apart about a year after the park opened. No TOB park property has been neglected like the skatepark
If its like Colorado, they only invest in commercial sports, soccer, baseball, football, and basketball. They neglect everything else.

It's funny because when I followed you every time you posted for your America trip I heard your voice every time. Just now when I heard your voice a slew of memories and even some smells from that time hit mind all from hearing your voice. Thats trippy to me.

Damn I'd kill to have a huge local park like that. Mine is about the size of the pool. Never skated a big pool like that either. Closest thing is FDR.

The pool blocks are missing from pretty specific spots, seems like someone took them out because they didn't want to bonk off it to air the deep end or the hips. I've seen it before, super unfortunate and selfish of whoever did it
I wonder if somebody wanted to skate the bowl without pool copping, just got all pissed and took it out haha!

started working on FS indy air too lately, my most helpfull tips would be : try to bonk off the wheels, turn enough that you can spot your landing, don't be in a hurry to put your wheels on the transition. Not that easy trick work your way up !
No such thing as a frontside indy air . Never was, never will be . Please,think about it for a minute.
That pool coping looks very grippy. Maybe bring some clear coat spray paint next time and give it some love..
That bail backwards off the missing coping was pretty scary for a sec. Coping bandits around here too.

Two things CHAD: 1) More speed in setting up for tricks like Fr. Air makes it easier to flow - especially with that quick transition - also makes it so you don't have to TRY so hard..... and 2) for nicer, warmer conditions ---- move to San Diego!

Great music choice! I've got all of the Doors on vinyl including two vinyl bootlegs and two albums that they put out after Jim's death. Best band ever in my humble opinion.
There is a park near me called ponderosa and it probably has the GNARLIEST park bowl in all of orange county and someone took out the coping on the shallow side for whatever reason 😢 kinda sux when people fuck up a cool thing.

I have a 10 inch egg board with a skate brake. I love long distance skateboarding thanks to you!
I gave it a go the day before his final push video dropped. Just under 12 miles and loved it. So much happens in those miles you wouldn’t expect. Wildlife, danger, terrain changes, confusion, fatigue in different ways. It’s an experience for sure.
Is it possible someone just skated it too hard and the shidd just broke and they removed the debris?

Stoked to see Chad doing videos again! I was lucky enough to break my ankle last weekend and this is good motivation while I'm recovering.
It's been 35 daily here in Chicago, still skating. In the rain too frig it (got specific rain board and dry boards)
I know the pool coping isn’t popular with the bikes and scooters. Did they take advantage of panels getting loose and just get rid of it for their own enjoyment?
A few young novelist BMX kids took out the pool coping at our skatepark for fly outs or whatever they’re called. The park is only a year old!
Are they maybe repairing the coping? Maybe it was chipping and they removed it instead of being a hazzard?
Most likely just kids breaking things for fun or someone skated it so hard the coping broke

I think they’re taking the tiles to work on their pool copping skate obstacle or to change parts of the park to skate differently which seems unlikely yk.
I found back side airs heaps easier, left-hand behind left foot (regular)

Great to see your back! They have been taking those coping slabs for a while. I thought maybe it was to make it easier to drop in there, but I can barely make it up to the coping there anyway so it hasn't bothered me too much yet 😅

Maybe they took it for renovation? They seem to be missing in spots that would get used the most.

I think people took it out because the coping there is huge and its hard to air it. I bmx there and the sections without coping are so much easier to boost a huge air out of. Im sure its the same for skating

Some young bmxer smashed those blocks. And old heads took them out to make or get a new one.

Cold crisp weather reminds me of skating back in Seattle, I think I was progressing way more because I had pants and layers of jackets. Now I’m in Florida and I skate in shorts and a t shirt but scared to try new stuff.
Good to see you back and hitting the pool, that really sucks about the vandalism it seems like nothing can be left alone these days. By the looks of your grinds the coping looks pretty gnarly rough any way so probably a big challenge anyway.
Airs were looking great 👍🏻 looking forward to seeing more and get your knee pads on a get used to using them they’ll give you the extra bit of confidence bailing out to a slide 👍🏻👊🏼

Cool to see you back, Chad. I remember skating with you once or twice in the mid to late 2000s. Brett helped me learn an axle stall on the qp at Tanner when I was first starting out. I’d love to check this park out. I enjoy Tanner & the spot out in Port Washington.

They probably took it out because it was already broken and they wanted to get it ready to be fixed, or didn't want someone else to try to skate the coping that was broken/loose.
Found out some locals took it and used it at another spot
