Myanmar Crisis: Tom Andrews Addresses HRC51 on Worsening Human Rights Situation

- The Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar, Thomas Andrews, updated the Human Rights Council on 21 September 2022 at its 51st session.
“With each report I have warned that unless UN Member States change course in the way they collectively respond to this crisis, the people of Myanmar will suffer even further,” he told the Council, saying that conditions have “gone from bad to worse, to horrific for untold numbers of innocent people in Myanmar”.
Observing that the international response has failed, the UN expert said that “first and foremost,” Member States must more forcefully deprive the junta of revenue, weapons, and the legitimacy it needs to attack the Burmese and suppress their democratic aspirations.
“Many in Myanmar have come to the conclusion that the world has forgotten them, or simply doesn’t care. They ask me why Member States refuse to take measures that are both possible and practical, measures that could save untold numbers of lives,” he said.
“Frankly, I do not have an answer.”

The people fighting back against the Junta need logistics support.. Weapons and ammunition, food and medical stores.. They will exterminate this cancer of their country. This evil has been occupying their country for a long long time. It is time to fight back and get rid of the junta. Direct intervention by the UN will be best... but they probably won't. Karma can be divided into good and bad karma. Good karma is a result of good deeds done for others, while bad karma results from intentional harm caused to others. If your actions cause lasting pain and suffering, they are regarded as negative, unvirtuous, or destructive.
The world should think about human interest instead of national interest. Burma ( Myanmar ) people had been suffered enough. Civil war is about 70 years. This wars have been fought between ethnics arms group and burmese governmentbecause no equal rights for ethnics. It is called the conflict between minorities and majorities. Burmese people never share and give the right to ethnics they should have. It has been happened in ethnics for long time what is happening in the heartland of Burma (Myanmar). The world never see it. Help myanmar ethnic burmese in central crisis now please.
Helpless, hapless Myanmar people running and hiding as IDPs being treated next to animals; no jobs, no food, no healthcare, no shelters, no education for children, no help, no aid, hopeless future; women and children are suffering more. All are hiding in the jungles, mountains to survive losing all assets, lives, villages.
