Headshrinker is punk rock. Nothing Blink 911 or whatever his friends did was punk rock. That's why he was blown away. For the first time in his life he experienced what punk rock is.
Because Tom started listening to other genres after this incident, you could argue that Liam Gallagher was a catalyst for the eventual demise of Blink 182. Tom's music tastes evolved over the years and eventuated in the self titled album - which included a homage to John Lennon in the form of Asthenia - "it's easy if you try". Gallagher just happened to also idolise John Lennon. Eventually Tom grew tired of punk rock and formed Angels and Airwaves, which cause a rift between band members. If this incident didn't happen, who knows, maybe Blink would still be together in its original form replaying classic punk rock hits from the 90s.
No. Tension over control and touring caused the band split, not Angels and Airwaves. Tom wanted to quit touring to go home with his kids and wife and rest for 3 months, Mark and Travis wanted to finish schedules (keep touring). Tom had enough of bandmates not being in his position (that they became parents around that time too) and just exited the band via his manager.
