That was a really good answer Sammy gave, It's not about who deserves it , it's who gets it done. Sammy is really tough at times, I liked the King of Cool when he raced because I'm older so was Kenny and I liked his quiet , let the race talk style

Ed Kretz was a famed Indian factory racer for ten seasons commencing in the late '30s until the demise of Indian in '48. Ed was a resident of Pomona when WWII broke out.
Inducted into the army he was a instructor based at this track and taught hundreds of dispatch riders until the war ended. He kept one of his Indians there and rode high speed laps regularly to demonstrate what a motorcycle could be made to do.
He told me he had enough knowledge of the track that when competing there in the post war years he was unbeatable.
Ed also believed he was possibly the only U.S. service man to live in his own home for the duration of the war.

30:58 two racers cannot occupy the same part of the track at the same time. Looks like Halbert #7 slid wide and bumped the other racer #9. Watch #42 give some hand signals to Halbert on the straights as he was behind the two as they bumped.
