In Memoriam Ruud Merx

Tijdens de kerst tournee in Engeland met het JSO(Andre Rieu orkest) kreeg Ruud plotseling een hartstilstand, waaraan hij helaas en met groot verdriet voor familie en zeer veel muziekvrienden op donderdag 22 December 2016 is overleden. Rust zacht Ruud r.i.p.

My sympathy to Rudd's family, Andre Rieu & the Strauss Orchestra. I really miss Rudd Merx as he was a gifted man with music & comedy. He had a good voice for singing. A great trombone player. The passing of Rudd is heart breaking. I will never understand why a talented person is taken at such a young age. Like many people I think of him each time I listen to Andre Rieu & the Strauss Orchestra. May God send his blessings to you.

Ruud, de toffe topper op het koper!! Je hebt me veel geleerd, meer als alleen muziek. Namelijk ook de sympathieke en mooie kant van de mens in het zuiden. Je was al in mijn hart, en dat zal je blijven! Veel sterkte aan de familie en vrienden van Merx.

Northern Gardening he died cause of a heart attack.

Heart attack while on tour.
He was rushed to the nearest hospital--and all looming concerts were cancelled so that Andre and orchestra could rally around him and his other half at that time.
