I fish from a kayak, in mostly heavy cover. All my rods are 6'8" heavy with 40# braid. I've had two $600+ med. heavy rods snapped. Don't buy ridiculous priced rods anymore. I am not worried about the sensitivity of a rod. There's nothing sensitive about a Giant Snakehead!! In my opinion, paying the extra money for a super sensitive rod for Giant Snakeheads is like putting perfume on a pig, It don't make sense. By the way, if you need a tester for any lures you come up with, I could definitely have some fun with that. You need to come up with a longer version of the rubber frog. Something weedless, jointed, that has a good action. Something more streamlined than the typical frog, so it cast better. Even add a little weight to the tail section to help in casting. See, now you have something to do today. Design the ultimate weedless, top water bait. When you get a few whipped out, send me a couple in Pranburi to test out.😉😉😉
If you ever do ultra light fishing, I recommend the JDM rods made in Japan. They are pricey but they are a whole other level of quality and sensitivity.
Hi, just got a couple questions, so what did you mean by pe 2.5. Second, im using live frogs and use hooks, i rarely use lures, so is there anything different. Also for the sight cast rod, can we use them to cast to open water area instead of just waiting for the fish?
Can u make one more video regarding lure weight and it's length for snakehead fishing. Especially hollowbody frog lure, bcoz here people r using hollow body frog lure from 12g to 28g of weight. So, I'm confused which one to use and when. I go max upto 18g of frog in 6cm length at weedy area, or I use 13 to 15g one in clear water for snakehead. Kindly respond sir and make a video on it. Thank u
Hi, can anyone help me. I got just a medium heavy spinning rod and I bought 30lb braid but I noticed my rod says max is 17lb line. Will I be ok, I couldn’t find any medium heavy rod that said 30lb
Not an issue. Just set your drag based on the weakest point. E.g if your rods indicate 17lbs,but you are using 30lbs mainline, set your drag not exceeded 17lbs.
Anyone available for some answers? My set up is a MH rod with a shimano fx c3000. I live in the region where Toman are invasive so there's quite a lot. I'm also running a 16lbs 4x braid as a main line. Is it enough?
@@bkkhkr3074 thanks! We have alot of spots with open and heavy cover. I'll stay away from heavy cover since toman do go in the open unlike other snakeheads

Also if im using topwater lures to cast to open water area, basically to the shorelines, which setup should i use?
What specific brand is your heavy cover rod
I really like the Mike Ike rod from Abu and the Rebellion rod from Daiwa

In the heavy cover it is a little light. if you are fishing open water that set up would work better.
