Hey guys here’s a longer version of the short I put out recently. It’s missing a couple clips because I accidentally deleted them off my phone 😅. The flex vent in the wall is scheduled to replaced soon and they just wanted it cleaned for the time being. Hope everyone enjoys the video and make sure to let me know if there is anything else you’d like to see. Thanks for watching 🍻
OMG-----I can't believe there was no fire. I'm re-thinking I may need to replace the flexible dryer tubing with solid aluminum tubing if possible. It looks like the corrigated tubing may contribute to the problem. It looks like it breaks and gets gaps and holes and the ruffles in the tubing may cause lint to be restricted.
Budget restrictions duct damaged but minimum replaced to get working, the years the lint and pet hair trapped and blowing around inside the home ,a real health hazard and flattened cheap duct restricting further the whole dryer needs clean out and any air con filters.
Former HVAC guy here and it was our job to clean up the mess after each job. We would leave it cleaner sometimes than it was when we started a job. Most trades people should clean up afterwards and make sure this is in the contract .
@@MrSetinelso important! in my last apartment the plumber came in while i wasn’t home, cut a hole in my bedroom wall to access the shower drain, and didn’t clean up ANY of the crap on the ground after! it was disgusting (and about 2 feet away from my pillow 🤢)
@@MyChannel773 Did your landlord notify you at 48 hours in advance that the plumber was coming ? Unfortunuately to me it seems to me he was a hack and not a certified licensed plumbler. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. One other thing if a situation occurs similar to that again. Lock up your valuables and if you can afford it install cameras in your apt.
This is satisfying af! I hope you plan on making more long vids! Something about seeing all that lint get sucked away and peeled off is just.. *chefs kiss *. Have a lovely day!
At the end, it shows the roof. Am i mistaken or does that dryer vent, vent vertically up to the roof ? ? ? And if so, why would building code ever allow that ??? If the dryer vent, vents up to the roof it just looks like that would be a problem. Mine vents under the crawl space and out to a dryer vent in the side of the foundation next to a crawl space air vent.
Makes me really glad I don’t have a dryer. I use my central heating ducts with a clothes horse over it to finish drying in the winter from the clothes line.
No you guys do there less common and most the once you do have are straight out the wall most just straight out the wall in the US some new houses have long ass ones
Just found your videos lately. Starting with shorts and then I watched almost every time 😁. Maybe I have a thing for cleanness. It's very satisfyng seeing the lint and dirt being sucked and leaves everything cleaned. 😁 Keep up the good videos..
@@JMPeel Don't be too shocked, J.M.P.🤭 MrLintGuy did a phenomenal job vacuuming the tunnel vents, so pronouncing, it was like he used citrate magnesium to flush out their binding guts like our poo canals need exfoliating to remove built-up toxins and foodstuffs in our system 🤣
Can’t lie, this house looks like my father’s houses literally even down to the brand of machine and tile on the ground, so it’s kinda trippy to watch lol
You will never know how much lint is too much as those houses are just burnt down.... Mr Lint, do you find that the people who neglect this type of stuff also neflect general home maintenance (just from walking through the house).....
I’ve never owned a tumble drier, is this kind of thing common? My friends just used to open a window and stick the giant sci-fi space hose from the drier out of said open window to vent. Yet you guys seem to have drier chimneys?
Im glad our dryers are made differently here in Australia ...We have a lint filter in the machine that you clean after every use instead of these fire hazards!
Do the people who live in these house never clean them? Never do any cleaning, or clean filters, etc? That's incredible that it would even get to that stage?
My arm hair kinda acts a filter preventing lint from touching my skin 😂 Seriously though it happens all the time and I typically just vacuum it off lol
I wonder if people realize how much money they spend on buying things that aren’t broken! If only they learned how to maintain their things properly, they would save so much money! It boggles the mind. 🙄
I was taking a break from cleaning the washroom, then I realized I was watching someone vacuumimg behind a washer and dryer. Something's wrong with me. 🤦🏻♂️
Not to be rude but I did not knew you had to clean the vents like man I just moved into a new house idk if mine need cleaning but my mom never ever cared about those even when we are at our old house And I have a question what happens if you don’t clean the air vents?
I'm 70 and we never checked ours either, just the one trap in the dryer. Most homes vent horizontally to the outside so you just have to check the outside cover for birds' nests. We moved to Florida in 2007 and the laundry room was not next to an outside wall so the dryer vented vertically to the roof. We were told that we should have it cleaned out every year, which we did; costs $90. If you have a new house, don't worry about the air ducts and don't use a high density furnace filter--I used the 3M 1500 series for allergies, etc and the HVAC man said that that was too dense & would make our furnace work harder and thus wear out sooner; he recommended nothing higher than 800. Some furnaces have washable filters.
@@MrLintGuy there were probably 4 generations of lint in that guy's line. You could have saved it and started a lint museum. "And here's what's left of Uncle Al's socks, which he bought off Elvis in 1959."

It isn't allowed in the wall anywhere I've ever lived.
Yeah and that "foil" tubing - not any better than the banned, flammable plastic tubing. Need solid metal!
Budget restrictions duct damaged but minimum replaced to get working, the years the lint and pet hair trapped and blowing around inside the home ,a real health hazard and flattened cheap duct restricting further the whole dryer needs clean out and any air con filters.

It's a miracle for houses like that didn't burn down and it's safe to say that the way he vents are oddly satisfying
Ooo that's a nifty contraption! The vacuum attaching to the vent like that! 👍
Thanks! That’s something I came up with after not liking the ones that come with the commercial cleaning kits.
I really question whether or not some of these people know about the lint filter on their dryer! Seriously blows my mind!
Froggy about to get himself some new friends with all those dust bunnies, what a disaster. Great video as always!

I work in rent to own and anytime someone calls about their dryer not working right it’s usually because of lint.
Contractors expect a lot out of dryer vents power to blow lint out. The farther the distance the bigger the collection.
are you still considering doing more long form content?
Yes I am. I have a new short dropping Monday and hopefully another long form as well for next week.
My husband saw me watching this and went on a rant about cleaning the dryer!
My house dryer vent looked a lot like this when I moved it, it was a miracle it didn't catch fire

why they have these vents ? cause washing has a drain pipe and a dust collector!

Mr Lint, do you find that the people who neglect this type of stuff also neflect general home maintenance (just from walking through the house).....
2:16 that sounded like a chainsaw
Did you make that adapter or did you buy it
Because his house was made by a great builder thats why it didn't burn down 😅
The builder might have been good but the subcontractor (HVAC?) was bad because you never put flexible dryer vent tubing in a wall.

Is this in a normal house, why doesn't the resident clean it? Don't you have heat pump dryers?
This is such a weird question, but aren't you worried about all that shit getting stuck in your arm hair? 😅
My arm hair kinda acts a filter preventing lint from touching my skin 😂 Seriously though it happens all the time and I typically just vacuum it off lol
I supposed that the lint collected can be used as fuel?
You could have made some really good fire starters with that..

How indeed do houses not burn down when the lint traps in dryers are this ineffective that all that lint got past them.
It still looks unsafe with the white thing in the middle.
