  • This is it, the final part in my window restoration journey! Now it's time to see the beautiful sashes come back to life. 🪟
In this episode, I'll be using linseed oil products to give the wood a protective and natural finish. I'll reglaze the windows, ensuring a clear view for years to come. And last but not least I'll protect the hardware with linseed oil and paint. ️
Join me as I breathe new life into these windows, honoring the craftsmanship of the past while keeping sustainability at the forefront.

Great trick using the wide trowel as a guide when scraping the excess paint! So smart 🤓. It's all looking so 👍

I have failed more times than succeeded when cutting glass. I would say that a must is a good quality cutter tool (better to invest in this so you don't waste money on destroyed glass).

What amazing work on the windows - they look so beautiful! Well done and thanks for sharing - my childhood home had similar windows (non restored) so I always wondered how they were made and repaired.

I love that feeling, to understand how things were made 😁 always makes me curious. I was one of those kids that could take apart things to see how they were built 😆

C’est enrichissant et apaisant. Ça me donne envie d’employer la même technique dans ma vieille maison Française du 18eme siècle.
Bon courage pour la suite !

Very interesting to learn how to use linseed oil products; it seems to be very pleasant to use; I will try to find them in my region even if I'm afraid I remenber that I don't like the smell of it (hope it's just a false memory!). Thank you for sharing the beautiful womancraft you make!

Thank you :-) I haven't even thought about the smell, I don't think it's very strong? Was this a long time ago?

@@old_school_moaboa It was used I think on furniture I restore and I hate the smell of the product when I clean them and I think (but not sure) that it was linseed oil... Maybe it wasn't?!

You are inspirational, Moaboa! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us. I am curious what that powder was that you brushed across the windows prior to spraying them.

It's chalk, the chalk makes i easier to remove sticky remnants of glazing putty that wants to adhere to the glass panes.

That was chaulk, to soak up any residue oil from the putty. Thank you Allison!
