There was a former costum for when you received certain empowerments/Teachings to hit the student with the text on his/her forehead. Nowadays some teachers still do it but not out of rudness but for the teaching "to stick down in you" :) I find it funny and somehow it shows the teacher cares for your development :D (of course it depends on your relation with your teacher.
She is lucky.
I was there, it was just a tap, its a sign of love even in Ladakh, elder people tap you on your cheeks too, we call it 'yasha' meaning care.
