The REAL India Western Media WON'T Show You 🇮🇳

  • I experienced the REAL India they don't show you in Western Media. In this India Travel vlog, I visited a rural area of India in a raw vlog showing family life in the Indian Village. I met up with my local friend Harry, and explored the Indore Breakfast Food Scene before Harry took us to some of his favourite places. This included his childhood sweet shop, roadside fruit and vegetable vendors, a hillside Indian Temple, and his hometown.
I had the please of meeting his wonderful family, and was named the new 'granddaughter' by his warm and loving grandmother and aunties. It was truly special to meet this family, see how life on an Indian farm works, and speak to locals in the village. It left me reflecting on the similarities and differences between India and the West.

Meet a random guy at the airport who later becomes a tour guide. Goes all out to show you the very real and organic life in his country. Takes you to his grandma's place and introduces his extended family. Yea, I can proudly say, IT ONLY HAPPENS IN INDIA 🇮🇳🇮🇳. Love the way grandma treated you, truly adhering to a core Indian value of 'Atithi Devo Bhava' or 'Guest is equivalent to God'. Loved your open-mindedness. These events might be very uncomfortable for someone living in a western society. Jai Hind 🇮🇳😊

If I call all of them as my relatives then there are more than 1200 known relatives only in village.( Only patternal side )
We still follow relationship with some of them, due to generations of complex relation a boy of my age is my grandfather in relation and he calls my real grandfather as Bhaiya( means Big bro ) and my father, mother uncle all my family by name and not uncle aunty

Good on Harry for inviting you into his family home. I loved your concluding remarks too! Good on you both - great job! Your assessment towards the life style of a particular country is absolutely correct .
However if people do a bit homework before visiting the place could have more enjoyable .
Here all most all UA-cam r covered southern part of our country
But most interesting part lies in the eastern part . I born in the city called " CALCUTTA ,( Now KOLKATA ) " is also called " CULTURAL CAPITOL OF INDIA " . the city chosen by " MOTHER TERESA " , who got " NOBLE PRIZE " for 'Peace ' , CALCUTTA was the Capitol of British Ruled country ( undivided INDIA , Bangladesh , Pakistan as well as Burma ) .
The city 's culture , lifestyle etc are completely different from the rest part of the country I.e. INDIA .
So unless someone visit that part ( uniquely blended from Mountain Himalayas ( DARJEELING) to the lower part BAY OF BENGAL ( SEA ) where the world's largest Mangrove forest " SUNDARBAN " are situated .
People easily can afford to tour within a very limited monetary budget in comparison to European countries .

You are so lucky being invited by locals into their homes and that too in the rural areas because in my opinion that's where the true heart of India lies...sure you can go see all the incredible scenery and architecture India has to offer but its nothing compared to spending time and happiness with local people who shower you with love and warmth and in the end its that experience you will remember throughout your lives and not the monuments and tourist attractions

You will come across many Indians who might not have a lot of money or a fancy house or a luxury car, but they will treat you with the utmost respect, and warmth :) We believe a guest is equal to a god! Please do not insistingly ing a foreigner how your particular recommendation of some Indian snack/ food item is. Like asking leading questions : isn't the snack/ food good, great, excellent, out of the world , the best food there is in the world etc. etc. etc. etc. Poor things they are. Realise by doing that you are preventing them from voicing their true, authentic, honest views on the food. They are generally far more sensitive than the average Indian in reading social, conversational cues and realising how much it means to you they will simply say the recommended snack/food was good. Don't make it as if you just cannot handle an honest opinion, a less than an exaggerated praise of your recommended snack/food item. It is an immature attitude of the Indian, thoroughly inappropriate and just not done in polite circles. Most Indian hosts just do not seem to realise this somehow !!😢

I don't know why living with family and taking care of them is uncommon in the west. Your family is something that creates you, loves you and will be there when nobody is there for you. For us indians the family is everything and their emotions matter the most to us. At a young age many of us go to different places for work and stay alone but we miss our family every single day and come back whenever possible and always desire to return to them when we are done. Your family is the place where you can be raw, un filtered. Your family takes care of you in every small sickness. At the end the smile on your parents' face matters the most. Be the guest of this most beautiful land and every time you would feel loved.
