      Yes, “glorious” but also completely blinding. Having done some low light shooting with 7.62x51 through an 18” barreled rifle with a less-than-adequate muzzle device, I can confirm that the temporary blindness from the first round flash will leave you with no target visibility for several seconds while your eyes adjust back to the dark.

    My father was a Deputy Sheriff and a Class 3 arms dealer for about 25 years before he passed away. So I remember the good ol'days before 1986... I remember shooting groundhogs going down the roads going around the perimeter of our hunting property lease in a CJ-5 without the top on and a 10yr old or so me, standing up in the back seat of the jeep with a suppressed MP5 with a quick release low-pro wideview rifle scope on top, and then focused on my hitting what I was shooting at and just hearing my dad in the front driver's seat saying, "Son, just pay attention to your trigger finger cadence and remember just try to shoot at them with 3 shot bursts, son... 3 shot bursts...
    Little did I know I way back then that I was being taught lots of little lessons and even very big deal type things literally on a daily basis... some that I still use very often, and even in my daily life. I was truly learning from someone who was absolutely one of the best firearm instructors that I could ever learn from. These weapons are lots of fun to use... I am lucky that I got to spend as much time blowing out hot brass while on full auto as much as I did. I can remember having to use 2 or 3 fingers to pull the trigger back enough to fire the suppressed MAC-10 & then that the MAC-11 was easier. I got to shoot everything you can imagine on a Friday night for example...then, learn how to disassemble it then having to take it back apart all by myself... then I had to completely clean it, then do the complete re-assembly in that same hour that it took to watch the entire episode of "The Smurfs" on a Saturday morning from 9 to 10a.m. while I'm also busy at the same time with my Kellog's Blueberry Pop Tarts (toasted with butter on top & no frosting)...
    Funny what you learn without knowing you're learning it and it's also funny to think about the odd little things you remember as you get older and older... close to 50 like myself.
    I just know that I sure do miss hearing 3 shot bursts son, 3 shot bursts... I miss my dad.

    "Unless you just wanna laugh and giggle all day" - there's a reason they call it the happy (or giggle) switch... Nicely done keeping it controlled. I've done a 30 round mag dump of 5.56 full auto - that's pretty manageable. I've shot .308 semi-auto. That's manageable. But the two together? Yeah, I can't imagine that stays "controllable" for very long.

The longer barrel version was kicking like a mule , so I can only imagine how hard this must recoil. I remember, during initial weapons training, our instructor ''hammered'' into us to only shoot semi-auto and for good reason, full-auto is really hard to control.

    Hk 308s are some of the most comfortable guns to shoot. First time i shot one I remember how people told me they have harsh recoil, then i pulled the trigger and the gun kissed my shoulder. Very tame even compared to an akm which itself isn't that harsh.

      It doesn't quite work that well even with a fa cut BCG. Different dimensions and what not. Even the 3d printables don't work. There are some RDIAS out there but they are specifically designed for ar-10. There is however an ar-10 that is designed to ar-15 spec and will accept the "coat hanger".

      Luckily there are high quality clones on the market, PTR makes nice rollerlocks, I have an MP5 clone from them that is just about as nice as an SP5 at less than half the price (the welds are sometimes better even), and just ordered a PCS33 (Hk93 clone) from Parabellum Combat Systems for a little more than half the price of a pre-ban 93 on the market. Just stay away from anything where Century Arms had anything to do with the manufacturing.

    • @MaverickHeloPilot
      @MaverickHeloPilot 3 роки тому

      A comprehensive list of quality Hk rollerlock clone manufacturers would be Parabellum Combat Systems, Dakota Tactical, and Revolutionary Rollerlocks on top as they are made to order and typically manufactured by one gunsmith, and Zenith and PTR as far as quality mass produced/batch produced examples. Zenith is actually licensed by Hk, and manufactures rollerlocks for the Turkish military
