Tony Vegas got a lot of respect for this set! The top turntablists at the time bugged out to this! And as Rob Grant rightly said 15 years old and still the best technical mixing on UA-cam... It's now 2018 and it's still masterful! 1:48 you sucker DJ'S! P.s. Steve D is in deep concentration right there in the judges seat!
I had the privilege of seeing Tony Vegas live in Sheffield. Stood literally next to the DJ booth as he performed. He did some 'normal' mixing too but every so often he'd do 10 to 15 minutes of pure genius
while most djs were doing standard scratch and juggle routines, this guy was experimenting and doing something very different. You can see that the whole set is really thought out, and each element is very original. I'm not saying that it's necessarily better, but it's hard to deny that it's more creative, and most importantly, it sounds good
+GrandMixerAkuma I agree completely. I saw this as a high schooler. Now that I hear it again, I regret not giving it's due credit. Definitely top 3. Not as great as Craze, but a strong 2nd. Much props hands down.
Vegas may have not won a solo title at the DMCs but he brought the most original shit every year. Pure genius.
Way ahead of its time - still one of the greatest DMC sets ever

Hands down this was the best set for this competition craze was sick but nothing compared to this!!!!!
This man always experimented. Loved what he always tried, even though it might not sounded as great as your usual thing!
I love DJ Craze and his 1999 set was amazing, personally i prefer this set. i love from 230 onwards
u said it
Crazes set is better easily
@@djminos2759 that’s why I said I personally prefer this set.
Possibly the most creative turntablist?
Definitely not

Looking back on this and watching a lot of the dmcs He was robbed its silly how many bad calls were made on some of the competitions

He came 2nd this year.
definately cash under the table was involved...........
You can see where Kentaro took lots on inspiration for his winning set of 2003
Why did this man never win the world title??
The beauty of self taught turntablism. None of this corporate college course bullshit.
ベガスじゃないの?
