Thank You... I haven't grown shallots before and I planted them as I would onions. A little close together and then harvest every other one throughout the season. It is early enough in the season to transplant some withiut too much damage or shock.
They were Red Sun Shallots, you can indeed start from seed although unfortunately we don't stock them at the minute. Also you can't save them from one year to the next, hope this helps
my shallots were planted a little over a month ago. they came up fine, but now the tips are burnt looking and they are a little wilty and yellowing. I tried fertilizing, maybe I need more nitrogen?
Finally an actual video of harvest without people just talking theory! Thank you
Love your videos more than other videos on youtube, there's something about how you present I feel I need to grow like you do :)
What a lovely accent ❤ and a great video and tips to boot. Thank you 🙏

Can you cut the leaves for cooking before it turns yellow and still able to harvest the shallots?
But the first part of the video is missing!! It's starts when they are in the ground and growing. When to plant, how deep?

It's been 4 months and my shallots haven't withered away, instead they started to seed.
When do I suppose to harvest them?
Hi Jane, whereabouts are you?
Melbourne, Australia
If they are seeding then it will be best to harvest. They may have bolted early due to weather conditions.
thanks :)
