Karl Kessler yea I live in Michigan too I’d probably react the same way I wouldn’t leave my house to look for the other guy but I’d definitely grab my gun
have you guys thought about a situation where theres TWO people with conceled carry working together to eliminate more then one threat? where they have to identify each other when in combat with the attackers and save people or sacrifice themselves i havent seen one episode with that kind of situation other than there being people who have conceled weapons killed right off. lets change this up! i want to see a whole new level of communications and people involved!
General Rendar Ok well there also taking scenarios that happen in real life not always based off the news they also take into account what the people there putting into these scenarios have in terms of experiences and skills. There's always that chance that someone has a Freind with them who has a concealed carry that can work together with there skills to control there situation together testing communication and teamwork.
Not unnatural, many CCWCs carry their weapons and don't let them get away farther than a feet from them, not surprised someone would have one while watching TV.
I put mine own everyday even if I don't plan on leaving the house. When I watch tv it is laying on the arm of the couch. So it could be a normal day. That's just me though.
In a free state you decide certain rules of engagement; however, in other, more blue states, his response in that last scenario was spot on as we cannot use deadly force if we aren't in immediate fear for our safety. Wish it weren't so, but explaining certain things to the courts in such states is an exercise in masochism. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6, but no need to tempt fate if one doesn't need to.
Let me react to this beep I’m expecting, and see how much quicker it is then to this guy in a situation where he didn’t know what was going to happen.. mmmhmm..
Yeah, it's kinda disrespectful to act superior to a combat veteran with a purple heart that has probably been forced to shoot or kill people. And key word is forced
The shoot inside took too long, the intruder should have been taken down instantly, before he got close enough to use his weapon. He should have never chased the guy outside.
So coming from the medical field there is two things I want to point out. First: in the first ex, the bat holder actually touched the soldier on the hand. Since no injuries are able to be sustained in this, its a freebie. But I wanted to point it out. Also, the hand would be injured if not sustaining broken bones. Second: the raised arm guard that was suggested. Not a bad idea, but again, if the bat came down BEFORE the defender could fire, that arm is going to shatter. And it only takes another second for a following swing. Swing down, shatter the arm, then a quick swing into the temple. Done. To people who are going to dislike me over this.... It is just from the medical point of view. Now personally: I love watching these. Reminds me of my good days. So to the guys producing these: keep it up.
I do enjoy these videos. Obviously you can’t practice every scenario, as it’s infinite in scope. This channel focuses on some different general situations. It’s great to think about, prepare and build a foundation on. Having some really good general situational practice will be something to use even if the situation is slightly different. It’s something we can adjust on the fly having already some experience to something similar. I have made some major adjusts to being prepared and having my home plan. I believe this channel will continue to grow. They have some really good content that makes you think. It also gives us some things to train on. Thanks!
That .38 S&W Bodyguard revolver is a snappy SOB. Bought it for the wife last year and it pounds the hell out of your radial nerve. Even tried using different grips with no difference. Ended up selling it and getting a heavier .357mag with more comfortable grip that made shooting the .38spl rounds much more pleasant.
Excellent work and thank you for your service! I hope that you and everyone else makes sure that no clear threat gets within 2 feet before firing. In fact, if someone is within around 20 feet, it means they can hit/stab/get on top of you in a blink. In the last scenario, the homeowner seems consider that line to be around 2 feet. I hope that if I were in the same position, I could could make 20 feet the breaking point.
The moment somone enters my house without premission, I will unload a whole clip in them i will defend my property and family. Shoot first ask questions later my doors are always locked and my gun is always on my person loaded and ready.
I was wondering how a "Combat Veteran" could be so awkward with a firearm in this kind of scenario and so unwilling to pull the trigger on an imminent threat....and then they said he was an Officer.....that explains EVERYTHING. Hahahaha!
Glad to hear the first analysis. When he went outside (which is what a lot of people would do), I was thinking the right thing is to fortify inside. Lock the front door, lock the back door, clear the house. Where'd the other guy come from? How'd he get in? Fortify. Call 911. Defend. Going outside was bad for a dozen reasons. I've seen a lot of these FPDs where the student always walks up on the threat like when a fight is happening near her car. I never heard Cerino or others tell her "why did you keep going to your car?" "why didn't you just walk away and avoid the confrontation?" Like abstinence is to pregnancy, avoidance can be the best defense.
This show is really cool. It would be cool to have episodes to help you train using VR gear or something. Also I would always carry a pistol at home if I had a pistol permit but unfortunately I'm not walking around my house with a shotgun. Lol. Unless maybe if it's designed to look like something that isn't gonna scare random people
Honestly, I feel like Graham knew and preformed better than the Instructor can help with. Unlike most people on this show he keeps very cool under stress and really gave the perpetrator many opportunities to rethink his decision. I like this guy.
something you didnt mention is that with the last guy is that the guy went behind concealed cover and could have drawn a weapon while out of sight of the homeowner and fired at him.
Lmao my brotha said as soon as he heard the timer he’s gonna shoot that’s like the dude shooting him as soon as he heard him yell hey lmao if you have kids some kids yell hey that’s why he decided to look see who it is and decide what he wants to do in that situation my boy just went guns blazing as soon as he heard hey😂😂
For a semi-auto I like to have someone load a random number of rounds in the magazine and when I get to however many rounds there were I see if I flinched. It works pretty well.
"One more step and I'll shoot!" Its that simple, let him know you're serious. If he doubts you, and hes only looking for a baseball, then he gonna learn a painful lesson.
Every time I check the door I grab a gun before checking the door. Sometimes it's a hand gun sometimes it's an ar15 or even a 12g pump. There is only 1 entrance to my apartment. So I dont have to worry about someone sneaking around the back. I always make sure my guns are loaded. My rifles I have to remove the safety then I can shoot my 12g is always ready no safety and always loaded with wax slugs I made. When I'm out and about I carry a full size 9mm tristar t120 cocked and unlocked. I will lock it while at the park. Or I will uncock it and keep it unlocked.
I think the guy did great in the first test at 4:30..you can't say in one episode, to one person they shouldn't hide in a room and wait for a active shooter in one episode, and then say to this guy who took down a threat and went looking to make sure his accomplice isn't lingering around his house trying to get in the same way his dead friend did, who btw got the jump on him..that's just my opinion.
Cries in Australian where some guy almost got jailed for accedentily killed a guy who broke in in a fist fight and when the intruder went down and wasn’t responding the home owner performed cpr, he still almost got jailed
The bad guy is talking louder than him and clearly feels dominant. Talking like a mouse wont scare someone especially if their not afraid of your gun. Do the cops talk quietly in these situations? I can barely hear the good guy.
FIRST MISTAKE--OPENING THE DOOR! Do NOT open the door to strangers. Talk thru a window, intercom system or yell thru the door do not unbolt a door and open it to strangers. Heard recently about women opening the door to scammers and annoyed at the scammers. What are you doing opening your front door to people you dont know!!!??? I realise this is a FANTASTIC scenario video but especially women, dont open doors!!
As a european these case scenarios are funny to me, we avoided this decades ago by simply creating houses with one door, or if the house is a Chalet like in these case, they have a tall wall all around and again 1 door, and these doors have a glass sight to see who is in the other side without even opening, plus no guns around. But i guess in the US these are interesting case scenarios to know.
Spain here, pretty glad we dont have this kind of issues lol I would hate having to carry all the time... Also hugging the wife she would ask if that's a pistol and she would be right xD
I would absolutely love to do this. I actually even live on a farm too. I'm always trying to get my wife to understand that having a fire on personally on you at home is also a good idea to. Doesn't just have to be on you but at least in the open. She still does not understand why I carry.
My question is, who's carrying a gun on them 24/7... I understand going out, or I understand having it in a spot in your house for it to be safe....But not carrying it on you going from watching TV to answering the door. Then the risk of leaving it somewhere can allow it to be stolen by an intruder and even used against you.
Act natural to everything and then he cuts off the guy and shits his door fast to a construction guy? WHATEVER! haha he KNOWS he is going to be attacked so this is unnatural.
I'm a little paranoid. I hate homes with multiple entry points. I don't like class windows or wooden doors. It's just easy shit to break and get in trough.
This video was.......... weird, idk if the extended... "who are you" ..... "get out" ... "im looking for my friend" conversation was done on purpose to extend the scenario..... because, where i'm from.. you break into a home, youre getting 2 in the chest... and thats the end... there is no conversation.... period.
This exercise all though great. Nothing can really prepare you for the real thing. Notice how he doesn't even draw on a random guy in "your" house. Think about it Armed or empty handed if someones in your house closing the distance... shit even just chilling on your couch, you're almost instantly going to pull your gun and or shoot them if they are walking up on you. I mean I'd mag dump them. Great exercise still.
In reality the home owner doesn't know how many invader or invaders there are. The home owner should have continued clearing rooms after shooting attacker.
I keep an old police baton hanging by the door, but then again I usually home carry...if anything because between walking the dog and running errands I usually leave and come home several times during the day. It's easier to tool up in the morning and remain so until bed.
I'm not most people, but you're right! I carry a gun 14 hours a day (own a gun store; don't strip down as soon as I get home; etc). But most people probably disarm and even unload when they get home. Most people don't have 15 guns all hidden around the house (neither do I). And this is why you also get a dog. My dog barks when someone enters the yard. Come in the house? The fight is on. At least, he's barking. At worst, he'll bite you. And if you take a swing at my dog with that bat, you're getting shot anyway. And then chopped up into kibble. No police. No 911. Just future dog poop. But seriously, a dog is a wonderful companion and can help with home security and situational awareness. Bad guy hiding in the house? My dog will know long before I do. My dog can hear me open the refrigerator when he's upstairs. He can smell a package of bacon being opened from outside. The nose knows. Get a dog.
