Author Laura Dodsworth joins Mike Graham to discuss the London Mayor’s move, saying: "These people do not know real people and it's an incredibly cringeworthy watch. It's been met with widespread criticism".

violence against women IS a real problem in london it goes on behind closed doors and 3 women a week a murdered thats an underestimation since most elderly deaths are not investigated when the old dear falls down the stairs and so on, if they really wanted to tackle it they need to sort out the sexist police force who will not lift a finger to help women. and the idea that abusers are advertising themselves by chatting about it is laughable, abusers come from all walks of life, the only thing I see them having in common is that most people are shocked that they are violent, you hear it time and time again, "butter wouldn't melt in his mouth", "he wouldn't hurt a fly" and so on, of course they are without anger in public or work, they have a human punch bag at home they take it all out on.

Most of the Scottish winter it won't be a heat pump it will just be an electric boiler if it is air source. For a 76 year old this is very much normal British summer.

I used to do a lot of competitive cycling ,when out training I got constant comments about my rear end and thighs from women,I was never offended and certainly wouldn't report anyone it was all in good fun. Having said all that it was at a time when people were not hooked on being offended.
Difference is women are assaulted and murdered at an alarming rate, by men. So on some occasions women are rightly intimidated when men focus on their physical attributes.

I know that women have beauty work carried out possibly for their own self esteem, but its not unimaginable to assume that they have these types of treatments done to improve their attractiveness. For instance if a female walked passed me and said nice backside, I'd be quite chuffed. I wouldn't be getting on the phone to report it and I would suggest that some females would be exactly the same as I.
However if I was present and a male kept making sexual remarks to someone who didn't want that attention, I wouldn't be saying maaaate. I would be telling them to shut the ----up.
Having watched the UA-cam recordings of the GLA, they're is no one more misogynist as the mayor. I find him extremely offensive when he responds to females within the chamber and he does everything in his power to belittle them whenever possible.

They need to sort out the comparatively expensive price per KWh of electricity vs. the same for gas. Otherwise heat pumps become a very expensive investment with an impossibly long payback period for most people.
Sadiq does nothing about Labour's machete in the head culture.
The main problem is that the facts just do not reflect this call for gender-biased allocation of resources. The perpetrators of violence on the streets are overwhelmingly men. But it is also the case that the victims of violence on the streets are also overwhelmingly men. You have to be someone who cares more about statistics of identities than of the wellbeing of individuals to think that women need special protections when it comes to violence from strangers.
We had the same problem in Bradford.
What none of the students demonstrating would admit is that the men sexually assaulting and insulting students girls were Muslims.

I lived in Singapore in 1973-75 the temperature was around 102 degrees Fahrenheit (39 degrees Celsius) so what has changed todays temperature in Singapore is 34 degrees Celsius 4 degrees lower than the average back in 1973-75.

These heat pumps don't work in the winter and are not compatible in a lot of houses and will cost upwards of £20,000 to install even more if you have to replace all the pipes and radiators and then the repairs to put the house back together after installation

I worked as a gas engineer in the UK for 17 odd years. I'm now back in New Zealand. We dont have a gas boiler/ radiator culture here, pretty much all heating these days here is heat pump. For the love of God dont ditch the gas boiler. They are so much more efficient and with thermostatic rad valves there is much more control of room heat. Potentially you would need 2-3 heat pumps to enjoy that control. Radiator heat is also so much nicer and cosier than heat pump
It’s all bs because when you pay it doesn’t cure the problem, even the original restriction should be scrapped

I agree with your daughter I have lived in Dubai and the Middle East on and off for 20+years, and as a woman I'm actually more respected in Dubai than in London. Men would never speak to me or behave the way they do in London towards me or any other woman, because it's not tolerated. I don't have to worry about men appearing in women only spaces and I can walk around anytime day or night and not have to worry or look over my shoulder. Dubai and the Middle East have many flaws and problems but I have more freedom there to say what I like and not worry about men or their behaviour towards me. Who would have thought this would ever be the case, I never did, but it's one of the reasons I live there more of time there than the UK

Coupled with the fact there are not enough skilled engineers to install these climate saving heat pumps. I saw the other day it will take 400 years at current capacity to install heat pumps in every home. I think we have more dangerous things that will overtake us in that tone frame!!

If Khan really believed in eradicating misogyny and wanted to make all women be equal to all men, then his first act should be throwing his own religious beliefs in the bin, for the Qur'an betlittles women and makes them property of their fathers and husbands. Where they do not have the same rights as their male siblings. Islam treats women as the inferior sex. One hadith we find Muhammad telling his wife Aisha that a woman's silence (in relation to being to marriage) is consent. So if a man in his 60s asks a girl who is 16 if she will accept his marriage proposal and for whatever reason, she doesn't answer, the 60 year man can take that silence as consent and go ahead with preparing for the marriage. Had this not be linked to Islam, I suspect that Nicola Sturgeon and her successor Yousaf alongside Khan would be appalled that women are treated in such a way. But because it is Islamic, they will stay silent on the issue.
