Saw him with DP as a 15 year old boy with my one year younger brother on 3/23 1975 in DORTMUNDER WESTFALENHALLE. We still have the original tickets. Many greetings from Germany : - )
When you take in all the statistic elements which includes the actual length of a fully functional career, while also focusing on the sheer quality, effort & talent I'd say Glenn is the definite MVP of the genre. Possibly beyond
Saw Glenn just about a month ago in Houston, Texas. Your stage is larger, and brighter. This tour is Amazing!! This is a wonderful video. Thank you for sharing x
Anyone who is a Glenn Hughes fan like I was ever since Trapeze, into Deep Purple and beyond should have a must read of his autobiography. It is compelling, the life journey he has taken until now. Thru his long term drug addiction days being so addicted to cocaine he encountered demons and psychosis that no one else should have had to go thru, to his life today. It is amazing. And all his early band days as well. At his age to be delivering the performances he is today and still writing songs is a testament to clean, sober living and the rare talent this man has.
Annoying, this is why I quit drumming in bands...this drummer was doing whitesnake style fills that apparently Glenn wasn't hearing, or feeling. Trust me I listened to it a few times over to see if the drummer was indeed off....nope. This is what happens when someone can't keep up...they blame the drummer, and this is why i say screw them all.
@@erockscott1184 I was actually laughing because there is no real beat in the verses of Burn. Ian Paice just solos through the verses in the song. Also Glenn came in too fast and was slightly out, the drummer was ok.
Yeah it's tiring the disrespect of drummers and the blame game. If anyone cared to listen the accents and cymbal hits all came in on time and with the other members of the band....if he was off then wouldn't the rest of the band be off too???...laughable the whole band is playing together except Hughes has to motion like the drummer is the issue...like I said I'm done with so called "musical directors "....we don't need them telling us how to play damned beat when we've done it our entire musical lives...maybe they should play drums then...and finally see how much THEY are off.
One of the most gifted rock stars of our generation. Overshadowed by Coverdale when with Purple, Glenn should have been used more by Richie to front songs.
It's crazy to think that 30 years ago, my grandad was 72 and was consigned to either sitting on the sofa or being in bed wearing only zip up slippers and pajamas.....
@@andrewwood6728 Yeah, when you have his kind of money, it’s easy to have every trainer, nutritionist, yoga instructor, masseuse, doctors & health care and what not at your disposal. You don’t think that makes a difference? Although it is a testament to him taking care of himself and clean, sober, active living. The majority of these aging rock stars are reaping benefits of what money can bring.
Yeah no disrespect to this guy but he's not playing it like Ian does. If he is I apologize to him I can't really hear the drums that well on what I'm listening to this on. The drums are insane in this song
can someone please explain to me why i have his voice in my memory for that song, wasnt ian or coverdale the singer? and why is he so good, i honestly find his high register not less more like more appealing than hellfords
i am of course in posession of it and had in on heavy rotation in 95-97 but he must have sung it, mistreated is in coverdales mode, the master of white blues ornaments, but this appears super destinctive, i did not find information yet but of course there is no other way @@flyingburritobro68i guess? wish i could play the drums here for a breakfast .. haha
And yet Coverdale can’t hum a tune these days and Blackmore now plays the mouth organ, Glenn is the last man standing, still touring still recording and he meets and greets the fans something Coverdale and Blackmore would never do, gotta hand it to Glenn he’s the man the past is the past take it as it comes ,he’s the last of his era to get up and give it his all every night even deep purple can’t do it like they used to, Gillian’s voice has gone and purples on guitar player number 5 or 6 now?
@@paulwiley7533 Hughes was every bit as good as Coverdale and Blackmore. It’s a shame we didn’t hear more lead vocals from Glenn back then. In all truthfulness his drug addiction played a big part in that, plus Coverdale would throw tantrums if he felt Glenn was upstaging him which he could do easily. David did not play an instrument so felt more threatened by that competition. GH knew he was a badass bass player and could sing his ass off as well, so he was supremely confident in himself. I also think a big part of him being a bit player is he didn’t get on with Ritchie as well Ritchie did with David. He even said as much in his autobiography. And of coarse we all know who controlled DP.
I don't know about anyone else, but I HATE that shite on stage. Power through it, and most times it'll never be noticed. Call it out, and it takes way the magic of the performance.
It’s not shitty at all, it’s 4k 30fps recording. And you are the only person who doesn’t like it. Everyone else is glad that I recorded it as not everyone can attend gigs like these. Lighten up mate :)
And this boys and girls is what rock ‘n’ roll is supposed to be!
The last man standing the voice of rock Glenn Hughes superb talent and takes it all in his stride

Voice still sounds awesome. Not many singers keep their voices so long.
I hope people realize Glen is RIGHT UP THERE with all the classic metal singers - Dio, Ozbourne, Coverdale, Etc
Great stuff

I like the logo Glenn Hughes written like Deep Purple on Made in Europe sleeve...
F’ing phenomenal filming ‘&’ performance💪🏼
Bob frieze man is a young Jon lord on the keys superb talent even has some Jon lord moves superb
Legit old man strength vocals/playing.
Legend.
Glenn still getting on the drummer to keep the beat in the 2nd verse is gold.

Just a reminder.. this song is 50 years old. Glenn is singing it like it was released f-ing yesterday! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Fucking kills it AMAZING
Glad you enjoy the footage!

They (Coverdale & Hughes) take turns singing lead on this song.
I've been a fan of GH for years and always impressed with his voice, but I think the crack are finally beginning to show. Still great though.
Glen looks much better with the long hair.
Makes you realise how good David Coverdale and Ritchie Blackmore were and how GH was just a bit part player in Purple

Søren Andersen (guitar), Ash Sheehan (drums) and Bob Fridzema (keyboards)
Brilliant what incredible vocals, drums are a bit off but hey, can't all be IP.
It was a brilliant show

Who is the guitarist?
Jeff Kollman VS Soren Andersen
He made mistake on the 2nd verse with the timing but blamed it on the drummer.

Nobody loves Glenn Hughes like he loves himself. Hated him in deep purple. Take your Shoeshine music and shove it where the sun don't shine.
This is why my comments defending the drummer got deleted...I see this.
That drummer... seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if Glenn sacked him for that performance.
nice wig
スーパーハイトーンシャウターその御歳で御出しに成る人は貴方御一人かも? しかし高いが少し細い❗ファルセット使わないAメロを歌うには大いに、細い‼️ でもカヴァーディル聞いてなければそう思わなかったかも?
I still don‘t understand why people make absolutely shity recordings by poking phones into other peoples eyes instead of listening to the band.

Fully agree with you
Get a new drummer
That’s the smallest drum set since rings Starr.
Drummer 🤔
He added years to his life by doing coke!!!!!
Not that great. I've heard better versions of 'Burn' played in my local pub. But good old GH is still out there doin' it.
When Hughes and the Robert Plant wannabe joined in 73, Purple were finished.
Absolute shite
