Vrije Geluiden is a music program made by the Dutch public broadcast organisation VPRO.
All those people travelling on the road we can see in the backgound. Totally unaware of this lovely sounding music in the making just a few yards away from them as they drive past.

Belle densité sonore dans ce chœur et rare équilibre des pupîtres. Leur sonorité chaude et pleine et leur phrasé souple et nuancé convient parfaitement à la somptueuse matière fauréenne . J'adore cette pièce.
sans doute la plus belle interprétation de ce cantique admirable. La grâce de Fauré et l'harmonie exceptionnelle des voix et du piano.
I've listened to so many renditions of this on UA-cam, and I think I've finally found my favourite, after wading through versions which sounded as though the choir was rushing through to get down to the pub afterwards, to others in which it appeared to be bogged down in mud. This is sublime! I love it!
Perfect tempo and the piano, instead of organ, seems the better choice to accompany the lovely voices!

It's amazing that such a small group has such a unified sound. No one voice sticks out, just blended into one sound. Love the legato.

Their legato is almost the same as the Oriental Lullabye. Being Oriental myself, I like it.
Except at 2:12. The R roll was so jolting to me when I first heard it that I did it double take and was pulled out of the music. Honestly I think it's inappropriate and I wish the conductor would have shot down that single person who decided to roll their R. Of course, it could have been to the conductor's approval, as well. But I do disagree with the original post in this thread that there is a unified voice within this choir, and 2:12 is proof of that.

Yes, at least on UA-cam. This band has stripped out the sentimentality that bogs down other versions. The piano is a little perfunctory, but the choir makes clear what the composer intended.

The Capella Amsterdam has recorded a later version, equally beautiful and 3 seconds longer. For me this is the perfect rendition however.

The peace of the song is slightly marred by the sight of road traffic in the background! But very perfect and beautiful singing.
Well, not in my opinion. It creates a wonderful descriptive contrast, between the busy daily life vs. the heavenly peace this piece conveys - thereby asking us if there could be something we have forgotten.
The traffic was part of the truth on the occasion. Authentic.
