Growing up mormon, like mainstream Utah mormon, I would hear women comment how they wish they had a sister wife so they could have help with the domestic labor. What really they wanted was a even partnership of labor with their husband.
another note about aspergers, it’s not used in the DSM-5 anymore because they found there’s essentially no difference between aspergers and other presentations of autism. They also found that when it came down to being diagnosed with one or the other, it just depended on the medical provider’s own bias and no actual distinction between the two. So they just got rid of it because people were being diagnosed arbitrarily
Lol I love this, I watched it maybe 7-8 years ago, so whenever that season was is when I stopped and haven’t kept up, but I know the big thing that just happened in real time and I almost started it back up again because of it! I think I’ll just stick to your recaps😆
I love your Sister Wives era!!! I'm excited for part 2. On a different note, your audio is, like, painfully quiet. I had to crank my volume up to the max (on multiple devices and several videos, so I don't think its just a me thing?). I hope that isn't too complainy, I just thought you should know! I absolutely adore you guys!
I don’t even watch this show and never have, but omg this made me laugh so much. I want to sit and chat with you guys about literally anything all day. ❤😂
Cody's veneer of chill relaxed cool guy is so paper thin that he is almost a caricature. I feel sorry for everyone that has to deal with him - even Robyn.
In college I was in the taekwondo club, and our sister club was at Brown University (Because our club’s Master and their club’s Master had the same Grandmaster, not bc of a relationship between the universities). We did retreats together and like hiking outings and stuff. Enough that we talked about them pretty regularly which meant we ran into the same “the Brown kids” issue ( 38:44 ). It just sounds bad! So we called them “the Brownies” because sounding like we were bizarrely anthropomorphizing a yummy dessert option was the way better option 😂
LDS mormons really like to publicly emphasize they don’t practice polygamy… but they did until it interfered with Utah getting statehood, and at least up until I left in 2016 they still believed polygamy would be reinstated in the church and that polygamy will be practiced in the afterlife. They hate Warren Jeffs but their founder was a predator and the mormon church still actively covers up sexual abuse cases. (My family has been in the mormon church for generations and I grew up in the church both in and out of Utah)
Robyn’s kids spent (maybe still spend?) every summer with their dad…he was financially coerced to both sign over the kids and sign an NDA. They do the adoption and like 3 weeks later, the kids are shipped off to Montana to chill with their dad for months, which must have been hella awkward
This is so nice because due to the type of religious trauma I have I can’t watch the actual show, so this is a great safe way for me to still listen to all the spilled beans without getting triggered 🥳
from someone who is a little too into the theology behind the split of the three abrahamic religions I would like to say that christians and catholics are indeed the same thing, and actually every protestant christian sect split off of Roman Catholicism/Eastern Orthodox
Hey I just wanted to let you guys know that I have a hard time hearing the UA-cam videos. I'm not sure why it is different than any tik toks or Instagram vids but just wanted you to know.
Possible hot take: Promise no spoilers but I have such mixed feelings about Robyn. I loved them all at first - the seasons that follow 2016 are WILD so y'all need to buckle up. However, I do feel like Robyn (despite the things I personally disagree with) is being unjustifiably crucified? People on the internet speak about her as if they know exactly what is going on in her head and are privy to her inner thoughts and motivations...and truly that is unfair. Does she do some not nice things? Sure. Can she be hypocritical? Absolutely. But I just don't buy that she is the driving force behind the ENTIRE shit show that is the last couple of seasons.

I love this, because I think I am the flip side of y'all. I've only seen the last three years of Sister Wives, so I love hearing about the back story.
