It was bad,,, wow!! The memories. But they are wrong crime didn't decline till around 1990. But it was way worse than now. But NYC is on its way to looking just like the 80's
@@slapshot68 . I remember how bad the crime was in the 1980’s because my family lived less than five miles from the Detroit border. The crack cocaine epidemic destroyed our city’s in Michigan as I’m sure it did every city. We didn’t have much coverage of other states though remember it was more local unless it was really shocking. I was born in 72 but I remember hearing Gun shots and the Devil’s night fires in Detroit were insane. I was totally banned from driving anywhere near that area but of course we went there. Children are stupid and don’t listen. We left our car in a friends yard right on the other side of 8 mile road and went with another to Greek town in downtown Detroit. When we came back my car had been stolen and we actually found it , called the police and waited for 12 hours for them to show up we finally gave up and went home. They never showed up and finally called us. I really believe it’s going to get so much worse. Stay safe out there..
Who?! The majority of arrests for subway crime during the 80s were white and Hispanic🙄! And thst is still the case today. According the NyPd there were 14 arrests for subway shovigns this year. 5 of the suspects were Latino, 4 were Whjte, 3 were balck and two were Asian! All four arrests last week for subway shovings and subway murders were Whjte an Hispanic males! Not single one was black. The man who beta and robbed wow,en that lady inthe subway turnstile was Asian man and he has since been indentiifed as Yuefeng Li. So blacks are not the “usual suspects” and the only time the biased media will release video of a subway attack is if a balck person is invoved.
I watch news from 80s Nd 70s is all the same as today the key is dont talk to know one and dont argue with no one keep going if u see anything call the police... situation is all the same no matter what year u are....
History repeats itself. Mayors say the same ol things

@@johnhannibal no. it is not. not even close. and the violent crime started slowly declining in 1991
@@ushireborn on paper it did. That's not accurate at all. Biggest criminals in NYC 1989 to 1994 was corrupt NYPD.
Imagine it because it's getting bad again.
Keep the archives open.. I like seeing the old news..
All they had to do was put the criminals in jail. Amazing.
At the time, we had Koch and then Dinkins. Two of the worst until DeBlasio and Adams showed up.
@@chickencharlie4539 Andrew Giuliani should be the Nxt savior
There was no bail reform back then
