  • [FULL HD] Opel Omega B Facelift 3.2 24v V6 Automatic Saloon doing various activities such as 0-100 km/h Acceleration, Transmission in 'S' (Sports Mode) and TC (Traction control) switched OFF, Cruising around various locations... Camera used was a GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition. 4K 30fps, Camera was mounted in various locations and positions around the car including (point of view) aka 'POV', Audio was recorded mainly from the external microphone located in the engine not far from the K&N air filter, Some clips of the video such as the steering wheel position is the inbuilt GoPro audio.
'Big Blue' the Elegant, Comfortable, Reasonably Fast, Executive saloon with many creature comforts and gadgets more than any other car of its time for the money especially on the used car market seen as the Omega suffered from server depreciation in the UK for an example this very model the 3.2 V6 Elite would have been in the region of £32,000 new.
As for the sound this particular 3.2 V6 Omega makes, This particular Omega has a custom stainless steel exhaust system from the CAT back with a single chrome tail pipe outlet, Also not forgetting the K&N cone high flow air filter which does give a nice rumble of a growl under load and on hard acceleration It really does give a great loud intake induction sound, MPG is a little worse although that may not necessarily be down to the air filter. Exhaust note is a little different or that could be a placebo effect. Either way it sounds good whether your inside or outside. There any many videos on this UA-cam channel Revving, Exhaust, Driving etc.
Performance is reasonable considering its age and comparing it to its equivalent competitors back in the day such as the Ford Scorpio, Rover 75, BMW 530i etc. Big Blue will through itself from 0-100 km/h ~ 0-60 mph in 7.3 seconds (give or take) which has been recorded in another video, The official Opel/Vauxhall 0-60mph is 8 seconds, You do need to bare in mind that this is with a heavy (around 2 tons) RWD 4-Speed automatic vehicle, not forgetting the car has done just over 200,000 miles and is 14 years old as of (2016) it's a 2002 car. The manual transmission on a 3.2 is approximately 1 second faster there about's. Performance aside you can drive hundreds of miles and still feel fresh it's a very nice place to be... a very underrated car.
This is not a detailed review or a in depth tour, Although if it where I'd give the Omega 3.2 Elite a 9/10 ... Why 9? There's always room for improvements to be made no matter what the car.
Big Blue the 2002 Vauxhall Omega 3.2i 24v V6 Auto Nocturno Blue Elite Saloon.

    General Information about the Omega:
The Omega was and still is an excellent all-rounder. It is also known by different names/brands across the Globe, Some cars having minor or major differences but at the end of the day these cars share something with the Omega.
Australia also had a version of the Omega more commonly known as the Holden Commodore that would be the closest relation to the Omega - In the UK Holden vehicles are usually badged as Vauxhalls with V8 engines only, The Monaro & VXR8 being the 2 most common, While the VXR8 could be called the worthy successor to the Omega with a 6.0/6.2 V8 it never could replace it fully with just one engine even though it's a cracking engine.
The Cadillac Catera / CTS In America although the early CTS mainly shares the Y32SE engine as far as I know the ...no doubt it also shares other aspects of the Omega in some way or another, Also in South America they called the Omega the Chevrolet Omega.
The Opel Omega in Europe apart from the UK where the Omega is more commonly known as the Vauxhall Omega, The predecessor of the Omega was known as the Opel Omega A / Vauxhall Carlton although the most notorious model being the legendary once fastest 4-door saloon in the world in the early 1990s the Lotus Carlton/Omega.
Omega was known as the Chevrolet Lumina in Middle East.
There where also many styling / tuning accessories available for the Omega, Mainly made by Irmscher / Steinmetz. Alloy wheels Irmscher Sport Star, Steinmetz ST1 / ST2. Irmscher/Steinmetz Bumpers, Side skirts, Bumpers, Spoilers, Steering wheel, Mirrors etc.
The biggest engine the Omega was given was the 3.2i 24v V6 - Y32SE - LA3 - 3,175cc Quad Cam producing approximately 220bhp the engine was also found in the early Vauxhall/Opel Vectra C / Signum.
