But for real. Nostalgia already hurts but then the thought that the present day will soon become the past and time will endlessly moves on without mercy.. it sucks but. Idk it’s life I guess.
I have been a fan of Tim’s comedy for quite while, but I have to say I love the honesty and authenticity of his songwriting. Great and well written song. Also the band is killer
The irony: sitting here, Munich, Germany, aged 54, procrastinating, pushing the to do list for the day which includes outlining the concept for new documentary about virtual snail racing in Second Life (not kidding) and then this tune comes up. Beautiful. Apt. Scary real!
I keep coming back to this song. I really love the vocal harmony and the singing of Eliana Athayde. There's a strange combination of freshness and world-weariness in her voice. Lovely.
Now that I'm almost in my 40s, I'm starting to see Tim more as a musician. Almost forgot about the comedy stuff. Plus it's just nice to hear his voice.
Absolutely love the way this was put together. Documenting reel to reel recording is a very sacred thing and I’m glad it happened with one of my favorite artists!
this song pushed me over the edge, I know some might scoff at me feeling old at 34 but it's been fucking tough, man. the words don't come like they used to, much love to all and if you're struggling with aging, you aren't alone
In the mid 30s, most people aren't really declining much, but you're on the brink of it, and that can be frightening. A word of advice from someone who has been through it - from now on, the phrase "use it or lose it" will really start to take effect in your body and mind. You could have at least 30 healthy, productive years left if you take care of yourself, or you could start falling apart now if you don't.
Watching cause Jason suggested, seemed like he was touched by this , and I’m happy I watched cause i relate to it so much and it’s so inspiring and a reminder to just have fun and let it out
Hi Tim! You screamed in my face a couple of years back in Copenhagen, from stage off course. You asked me to record your speech that evening (NO MORE BULLSHIT!) and post it on twitter with your tag in it. I did as you asked, sadly you never saw or reacted to it, but that dosnt matter really. I had a wonderfull evening, and i got my favorite merch shirt ever from your little stand. Love the new track btw, really nice vibe.
That was lovely, the lyrics resonate. Glad to see you do so well, spreading laughter n jams for so many years. Keep em comin mate, all the best to you Tim.
I ran into this because I get the label email.. this record label is probably the only record company I could ever sign up to if I had sellable music… my songs are ok but they are not market material, strictly narrow appeal. I’ve been trying to make a 45 single record for years… about 40!!! Don’t think it’s going to happen this late in the game. This is so good though and they got it right away. I have this song writing exercise where I write a song the first time I play it… it’s like a improvised demo…
Aging is absolutely terrifying if you think too hard on it. All your family and friends go away, until you also fade. Thank goodness for the arts keeping the horrors at bay.
@horrorgardener The previous generations faded away to make space for you, and you'll do the same for the next generation. The whole thing moves forward one funeral at a time. The older I get, the less attached I feel to the idea of me as the center of everything. It feels very liberating to be a bit more free of the burden of self and the pressure that comes with it. These changes can be scary, but only to the extent that you hold onto a fixed idea of who you are and what you do. If you relax your grip and let yourself change, it can be wonderful.
I love how you promote your freedom through expressive creations of your own mind at anytime and it ends up being so entertaining, man I am a die hard fan and wish you a wonderful time out there knowing how much you provide toward the creative community we call the internet man I wake up daily with the same passion believing others can enjoy the offerings from such creators man, 100% you're the man Tim! ( I am inspired and will strive with every ounce of my will to create a studio and become a creator such as yourself!) Yell at that mic the way you want to and the expression will follow!
Awesome Tim. The guy who co-wrote conjunction junction or something once told me never write a song about writing a song or a lyric about not having the words, which like 90% of the time you play music for yourself you have nothing to say, that has been the herpes of advice my whole life and I wish I’d never met that guy.
This is even more heart-felt than "Hot Piss". For real, I appreciate the Octopus' Garden reference within the progression, and all the Beatles references throughout too.
Wow, your harmonizing. Beautiful. The lyrics. This is truly a beautiful song. I was expecting something funny but got so much more. Thank you Tim and company. I saw you and Eric in Boston way back when. Your show was hilarious and just sheer magic. I still have the confetti you threw into the audience that had(the name escapes me right now) some sort of pesticide company. So so funny. Anyway, I look forward to more of this and more of you in general. May God or the universe or the sun, moon and stars bless you and may we carefully navigate these troubled waters we’re in right now. I only hope we all have a lot more life to live and a lot more love to give. Peace and love brothers and sisters!
Tim is truly the epitome of a renaissance man. Eliana is so effortlessly cool and funny. I was fortunate to see Tim and the Very Good Band in Niagara Falls and it was life changing. ❤❤❤
Damn, I'm deep in the Two Tims nostalgia. Just seeing the session performance alone would have been enough of a treat--but that intro and outro stole my heart with all the fun and laughs (and Rosie~). A poignant song presented with a wholesome double serving of sincerity and candor never fails to heal. Thank you for showing that slice-of-artist-life, and I can't wait to see the rest on a tour for the new album! (Also RIP Tim's hair and Vic's glasses).
this is a beautiful song, "You're doomed" from Tim and Erics bedtime stories really blew me away, glad to see you doing music man youre killer, another banger
i live right down the road from arrowwood farms. fan of yours and snail mail. hoping i can finagle some tickets outta the owner. see you there fingies crossed
I don't have the expertise, however, I give it 5 bags of popcorn and 2 sodas
You clearly don't because this is MUSIC, not a MOVIE. Music can not get bags of popcorn or bags of sodas. Please remove your rating as this is for movies only.
Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to listen to the song itself, but I trust your judgement. So yeah, I give it 5 bags.

Tim just dropped a beautiful ode to the plight of being an aging creative.
It makes me sad :( it’s sad to think we won’t get Tim Heidecker forever

let’s break this down
Tim should open with Hot Piss for TMBG’s next tour
How am I getting emotional about a Tim Heidecker song? The power of a simple and honest tune!
I’ve been really struggling but Tim’s music just feels really comforting right now and it’s made me emotional.
same
Right there with ya.
This video is cozy
“Just alil Ringo-y thing” “Alil fill there” So great to have the drummer do the exact Ringo-y fill you’re looking for! That guy knows Ringo
Omg and a McCartney bit to end! So much fun. Thanks!
They've just got Ringo'd😊
Genuine, raw lyrics. I appreciate and relate to those. Thank you for sharing your vulnerability.
recording on a reel to reel in what looks like a bedroom studio is quite the flex lmao
Ya blew it
