I have some of those potatoes to reveal, they were given me to try so will try some as roast potatoes. I must agree with the weather and what has grown well. Mrs K had a 14 hour operation Thursday and is doing well. ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.
Thanks for this, Dan. I find that the Blue Danubes bake very well and rapidly in the microwave where they lose water and get beautifully fluffy. For two potatoes, they can be on the table in ten minutes or less. I sometimes finish in oven to get a crispy skin with a bit of salt and oil.
Hi Dan - yet another cracking / informative video post. You rate the sarpo blue danubes the best ever for chips and roasts - yes, they're good but I've got a better one for you, reccomended to me by a fellow patient when I was unfortunately in hospital ealier this year - he was in the wholesale / commercial potato business. You likely won't have seen or heard of this potato he said, but we are increasingly supplying it to the retail trade as it is such a good chipper, baker and roaster, its called 'markies'. I found some online and grew them this year - lovely clean medium to big pots not a mark on them - and the taste, absolutely fantastic all 3 ways and also when boiled and mashed - gave them to 4 different friends to try, with the same result / comments - the best ever, they all said. Try them, you'll not be disappointed 😋👍
I grew blue Danube last year, should have stuck to them. I grew Desiree this year and they were disappointing. Every single one of my leeks went to seed. I've never known it, or even heard of it before, any ideas from your self or your readers? Sorry, but I can't remember the variety.
Your a freak when it comes to growing vegetables...and I mean that in a good way!! LOL!! I'm lucky if I can grow anything sometimes!! Dunno what it is I do wrong?? LOL!!
Where do you live? I live in Dallas Texas and it's still been in low 90's F which is about 32 c. Tomorrow I think is 95 f. Way to hot for October. Your weather looks nice
Formidable récolte bravo 😊
Awesome harvest, thanks for sharing my friend.
Always a joy watching your garden grow and seeing the harvest! thank you so much.
I've followed your leek techniques for a few years now and finally got some to be proud of! Musselburgh best.
I’d be happy with that harvest. Great job

Try a taste test (blind) with both varities with a panel of tasters.
Still getting some awesome harvests Dan so nothing to be sorry about 👍👍. Here’s to a fantastic 2025 season, Ali 🌞☔️🇨🇦😊
Your leeks look really nice. Mine fizzled out. There's always next year. Elaine 🌱
Nice Dan, did my last spud harvest today too, Sarpo Mira, nice crop, last of garlic and cabbage. Just bullet proof leeks left now..
Nice leeks. My first year growing leeks and yours are twice the size of mine at least. Think my soil might be a bit compacted.
