I use Sprout 100, with kef ls50. Even though i use spdif for most of the time for tv and xbox. I use vinyl, and bluetooth often. The analog input is connected to an AudioCast for airplay / cc audio streaming. Only complaint is inability to switch inputs through remote - perhaps it is good to lower your calories :).

Mr. Robinson, I hope you read this! Thank you very much!
I bought the Technics SU-G700M2 two channel amp after watching your video(s) and paired with new Polk R700's (also reviewed by you). Then I connected up my near-mint Vintage Technics SL-QL1 Linear Tracking turntable, added in a new OEM (vintage) Audio Technica cart with frequency response of 5-35,000 Hz. Holy Cow! WOW! Dang! Everything you said about both this amp and these speakers speaks the truth, as you would say, "full stop."
I have friends come over that listen for hours and say how quiet, how nuanced, how silky smooth the sound is...and as you pointed out, neutral. I will say, I have never been a fan of neutral myself at all, until now. I actually get all giddy waiting to play a new piece of vinyl...how absolutely controlled, yet dynamic the sound is. Never harsh, never brash, never boomy. Just...sounds...amazing. It's that good. At least for me and my setup. I play a variety of music and this system just owns it. I do customize the tone at times of course because, well that's my taste.
Does this paring call out bad pressings/recordings on records. Oh yeah, for sure. But the flip side is if you have a nice piece of vinyl (recorded from the master tapes)...holy effin cow. I mean...it goes to another level of fidelity, clarity and also, silence!
For those wondering if the Technics SU-G700M2 can push these R700 speakers (which was my biggest concern), the answer is a non-hesitant YES! Not even remotely an issue. Keep in mind how large a room you wish to push these through, as with any setup. I also ran the LAPC again after a 200 hour break in and the sound change was noticeable, yet subtle, and it was better! I am very happy. :) Any questions, feel free to ask folks...

I am using this Technics SU-G700 integrated amp along with the SL-G700 SACD player. The combination is incredible, especially when playing SACDs. The sound is as good as any vinyl systems at any price. It also supports all digital inputs. It’s a combination for life with any speaker system and sub-woofer. I bought the SU-G700 late last year (after watching Andrew's review) and have had a few months to listen to it. It replaced a Peachtree Nova 300 integrated. The first impression was its absolute, dead-zero noise floor that allowed musical detail to come through (particularly the airiness of highs), and a noticeable improvement to the depth and width of its soundstage. For the first time, I noticed music coming from above and BEHIND me (in two-channel stereo!). In that sense, it was quite remarkable. I've listened to the SU-G700 through a pair of Vienna Acoustics Grand Mozarts and Zu Audio Omen MK.'1s. These two speakers could not be more different. The SU-G700 took the inherent characteristics/strengths of both speakers (different as they were) and allowed their sounds to come through with an improved clarity that just
wasn't there before. I use a Blusound Node 2i to stream music through Airplay, and have had no issues with connectivity. The SU-G700 is really a fine amp. If you're on the fence about buying a Technics, you're in for a very nice surprise should you decide to take the plunge.

I've watched this video like 10 times drooling over this beautiful sculpture of electronics. I still have my first real set of stereo speakers some big boxy Technics from the 90's. Huge sound that I have yet to totally surpass with any of my subsequent speaker purchases. I understand that speakers aren't their strong suit so I'm sure this sounds as good as it looks. I'll keep an eye out for this one on the used market in 10 years or so.

Damn. That integrated amp is GORGEOUS!!! My very first stereo receiver was a TECHNICS. And that was in 1980 when I was in high school. When I moved back to NYC about 16 years ago, due to my being in constant transit, The Mom's gave that receiver and my other one, which was a gold MARANTZ to this Dude who was working on her apartment. I'm still angry about it.

I have tried many other newer and older amps, but the sound that comes out of this little one, to me it's perfect. Solid, clear but with that vintage 80s flare. I ordered this Technics and NAD M33 at the same time about a month ago and sent NAD back. NAD has more features but this amp beats NAD easily in the sound department in my opinion. Technics sound has more weight in it. It just has more gusto. NAD has a balanced but weaker sound. I’m keeping the Technics :) It just sounds amazing and is a pleasure to listen to. Don’t let the 70w power fool you. This amp has plenty of power for most speakers on the market. I am running it with the new BlueSound Node and Monitor Silver 300 speakers and I can crank it up easily more than I can handle. An absolute top notch amp from Technics👍💯

Andrew I am impressed and glad to hear that this amp has won you over! Panasonic/Technics along with so many Sony, Accuphase, Luxman, Harman Kardon, Marantz, Pioneer (not a fan) all Japanese audio manufacturers that take audio listening seriously. I have a Panasonic black and white 13" tv from the early 70's that still works to this day so I can personally speak as to the quality of Panasonic. I no longer can use the Panasonic tv because of digital transmission but I do keep it out on display for others to see. They ask "what the hell is that"? I look them straight in the eye and say that "thing" was my first tv!! They all say WTF or something close to that!! I also say I paid $45.00 another shocker! Got any other questions I would say? Depending on their mental state sober or drunk or stoned, I usually get a "Nope". I also have a radio clock and other Panasonic products and Sony products (Sony had the first portable black and white tv) that were designed and built to last a human lifetime, and all still function to this day. So I am happy to know that this product meets your seal of approval. Why? It's Panasonic (Matsushita)!! Im old, my music is old, and my listening system is old, my ears now thats a whole different deal, however your impressions and insight to this product leaves me with something I already knew, and that is "Panasonic" stands for Quality, Value, and Performance!! By the way the caps used in these amps are (for tech heads like me and no I'm not a nerd, or an audiophile) are their best offering. By the way my "Harman Citation" is getting fatigued a bit as my new Maggies (1.7i) simply have kicked the amps ass at 85db loudness or better. So I know what I am getting next and thanks to you it is called "Technics SUG700" as it will sit next to that tv I bought many years ago "proudly" I might add!! Now I'm off to listen to the Doobie Brothers and perhaps do something that the name suggests!! The Harman will still be used but not in my main room, "Heresy" you say? Nope as it will be just fine driving the Klipschorns in my rock room!! Rock on sir!!

This amp is definitely in my bucket list .. and here's why :
1- I love the fact that it is a totally new technical design: cutting edge Class D amp, that draws a lot less power to the wall socket, that is so much more efficient than an AB, and of course a Class A amplifier ..
2- I love the fact that it integrates a top class dedicated headphone amp, a phono stage AND a DAC, top class as well .. wow .. do you know how pricey these components can be, when purchased separately ?? So yeah, really really cool ..
3- I love the fact that you can hook up ANYTHING you want into it : 2xOptical, 2xCoax, 1xUSB digital inputs .. enough Analog inputs .. and a Pre-Out for one or two Subwoofers .. man, that's perfect ..
4- Of course, I love the way it looks, so nice and simple ...
Yep, that's my future amp guys, I am pretty sure :)

In that price range there are many good amplifiers. Some of which do have streaming support, or at least network support so you can have the streaming server in another room. Hegel, Rotel, Naim, Nad, Yamaha, and many more. I thought that the crown sounded neutral. Well it did, but not as extremely neutral and refined as my new Hegel H390 which is fantastic. The H590 is even better, but we are not talking 2500 dollars here. The H390 is twice that. And the H590 is twice of the H390. The power may seem low, but good amplifiers usually have some power on reserve for dynamic peaks. NAD was well known for low power amplifiers that would surprise listeners with their dynamic power. Some of them could easily double their output power when needed.

AND a great-soundng Technics product. Your description sets a very high bar. I do agree that it looks great. I also like the look of many pieces of vintage gear, from all vintages, but having lived through many of them and for a long time with many pieces of vintage gear, this is actually an excellent, functional, and better-sounding, better-made, and better-designed bit of kit. We are indeed living through a platinum age of audio. Relish it. Revel in it.

    Andrew, great channel.
Being new to the Hifi's rabbit hole your channel is helping a lot. Specially because I live in brazil and 30 days trials / returns are not an option for me.
After wiewing almost every rewiew on your channel I was pretty much going for a billie amp. However, I want to have a life long set up for personal enjoyment online mostly listening to a laid back, "late night" volume. Maybe that rules out the billie amp since it might be some kind of a bet on the long run.
That being the case, I need something that performs great at low volume (amp and speakers) capable of delivering good to great phono preamp to work with a Music Hall MMF 3.3 with an 2M blue or Orange, depending on of if the phono and turtable allows me to justify the 2M bronze's upgrade.
That being the case, SU G700 + tekton lore reference + MMF 3.3 is pretty much what I'm aiming for. This would lead me to a 4k system só far.
For now I believe I can survive without the streamer. I'll try to connect my Ipad through an Apple TV and see how it goes
Tks in advance for any comments/suggestions. Viewers incluíded.

How ironic. The load adaptive technology has been used by CROWN for years and adapts dynamically. It was first advertised in the CROWN MACRO-TECH VZ Series of PRO AUDIO AMPLIFIERS.That thing is gorgeous , I really like the clean sophisticated aesthetic, including the VU meters. It definitely looks like a piece of art.For that money however I would want more power if I were to beg, and/or borrow in order to afford it.So I think I will sit this one out and sooner or later buy a CROWN XLS 2002 to pair with my old CARVER C1 SONIC HOLOGRAPHY PRE-AMP.

I just acquired an su-v 505 computer drive class A biasing amp. In as new condition, silver not a scratch or a mark anywhere. Had it sent of to be fully reflowed, all the relays cleaned, the switched and pots lubricated, recapped and the power supply overhauled. It's back with a full 1yr warranty, I paid £150 for the amp, £200 for the servicing and reworks, so I'm into this amp for £350. It will blow away this new amp with 0.004% thd, vs a frankly appalling 0.5% thd for £2500. Sorry it might look pretty, granted but you can't beat older technics gear that has been fully serviced and overhauled. I think vintage technics gear will appreciate much much more over the next 20 years. I have mine hooked up to some wonderful kef 104.2 Raymond Cook, and it really just blows you away how good it sounds. My FULL system cost me less than half of this new amp from technics and is superior in every way. Not one plastic knob on the old 505, every thing is brushed stainless or alloy. But it's a good start technics, id like to see a return of computer drive class a sliding bias, get those thd levels down to 0.004% on your new kit, you did it before do it again!!!!

considering it lacks some of the streaming/wifi features does it not perhaps make it more timeless? this technology changes and evolves while what's contained in this device may be more universal over the coming decades. the streamers are easy to replace if there is something new out in 10 years or so but it would be quite difficult to replace such an expensive and beautiful unit just because its abilities aged a bit.

Excellent review Andrew! I just purchased and received the new Technics SL-G700 SACD Player and I have to say it’s one of the best players I’ve heard and for $3k it’s literally a steal comparatively to what’s available on the market. I did however briefly had the SU-G700 in my possession as the model numbering for both amp and SACD player are similar and the online dealer I ordered from sent me the wrong item initially. I was tempted to set up the amp and have a listen but didn’t want to go through the hassle of repacking since I had to ship it back the next day. When I called customer service to correct the problem, I hinted a few times that since this was a “mistake” that I might forgive this oversight and keep it for a very small discount, and move forward with the SACD player to boot. But alas... the dealer balked at such a proposal. It was worth a try!!😝

Not only did they drop the first Technics SL1200 series, they stopped making new parts available for them, which I believe to be a poor move on Panasonic’s part. For shame...
The SU-G700 is definitely a good looking integrated, and I’m dying to hear one after that review. I stopped using separates for a while now, and just run my 1200 deck to a Mani phono pre to a vintage Marantz 2220B into my Tekton Pendragons,, and I couldn’t be happier.
