The Technics amp you're reviewing here can be had for less than £1900 currently, and with a trade-in of the Cyrus, I won't be looking at a lot of cash to swap. Hi Paul. Seems a good all round performer , as others have mentioned it does look visually unbalanced but looks are secondary to performance. The other beef I have with many of these none budget amps is the inclusion of a phone stage , surely someone at this price point will use an equally priced deck with a separate phono amp yet we’re having to pay for their inclusion. As you also rightly stated there should have been more RCA outlets so that we who have say two record decks and a peace’s of retro equipment can use them. Best wishes and kind regards. 😀👍👍👍

Be careful here. I'm now on my second SU-G700M2 unit. Both produced "F76" errors, followed by protection shutdowns, when the dimmer button on the remote control was pressed. I've reported this issue to Technics, and will await the response.
@@TheAudiophileMan Technics, whose technical support staff apparently cannot be reached by phone but only by email, has not responded to my inquiry. Disappointing. Since my original comment, the problem with shutoffs expanded. I could not keep it on more than an hour. I worked with Crutchfield, from which I purchased the unit, to see if there was a problem with attached gear. Crutchfield was understandably suspicious that there might be a problem with the Technics, given that the same faults showed up in two different machines. Gotta be a user issue, right? They had me stick a multimeter on my Heco Aurora 700 speakers to check ohms reading, both at the binding post and with cables attached. No problem there. Just in case, I swapped speakers to a pair of JBL 530s and still got the shutoffs. I swapped out speaker cables and interconnects. The Technics shutoffs continued. During this period the Technics remote control also became unresponsive, which rendered the unit even less operable. I have now shipped the SU-G700M2 back to Crutchfield for a refund. Perhaps I missed this in the review, but are the control knobs metal and feel solidly attached? It isn't that big a concern given I usually use the remote, but I was looking at another amp in this price range the other day and it felt like the plastic volume control was going to fall off.
I can't answer with any certainty because I wasn't able to compare the two but - from memory, so take my comments with a pinch of salt - both sounded excellent. I don't think you'd be disapointed with either. Pricewise though, you're looking at what, £500 less for the 9000? In that ball park is it? So that might be a significant pointer if your budget is important.
Hi Joe - hang on, just let me put my wellies on here so I can wade through your sarcasm. Let's see... Here's an in depth report for you: 70W + 70W ( 1kHz, T.H.D. 0.5 %, 8Ω, 20kHz LPF ) or 140W + 140W ( 1kHz, T.H.D. 0.5 %, 4Ω, 20kHz LPF ).
@@TheAudiophileMan Sorry, my comment wasn’t meant to be sarcastic, however, I heard you say you rarely review high power receivers or amplifiers because your choice of speakers don’t require high wattage. So my apology, as I own speakers that can easily handle 300-400 watts rms per channel to sound amazing. Guess I asked the wrong guy.
@JoeCamel-fn7dl Hi Joe, can you point me in the direction of that comment please? I don’t recall stating that. It’s not how I work on this channel. I don’t review kit based on selfish reasons or only how the review sample might affect my system. I review hardware for you and everyone else. So I wonder if there’s been a misunderstanding here?
@@TheAudiophileMan It’s probably a misunderstanding on both ends, however, I’ll take the blame. I only wanted to know if it had enough power to efficiently drive my speakers.

Well, if it gained a 9/10 *that* would be a Deeply Groovy. So no, just a Groovy :)
Form across the room the amp looks like it's up side down. I think Technics got it right with the Technics SE-A5 especially if you love large VU meters.
Perhaps I missed this in the review, but are the control knobs metal and feel solidly attached? It isn't that big a concern given I usually use the remote, but I was looking at another amp in this price range the other day and it felt like the plastic volume control was going to fall off.
Everything feels solid on this one.
3:04 12.6 kg?
SU-VX 920 here, 16.5 kg!😆
The topology of this amplifier is completely different to yours hence the difference in weight
What do you think of this vs the audiolab 9000a?
I can't answer with any certainty because I wasn't able to compare the two but - from memory, so take my comments with a pinch of salt - both sounded excellent. I don't think you'd be disapointed with either. Pricewise though, you're looking at what, £500 less for the 9000? In that ball park is it? So that might be a significant pointer if your budget is important.
Good amp. But in Relation to the advance Paris a little bit too expensive. 😏😏
techinc belt drives >love em DDs ? hype.. class A amps , superb
Is it plastic or metal , and no control dials question mark
no XLR input :(
I've listened to this review about 13 minutes and I still don't know how it sounds.
Then seek a home demo, dear Liza, dear Liza, dear Liza. Seek a home demo, dear Liza, dear Liza go seek…
Can you feel bass though
I think VU meters look better on t shirts than amplifiers.
Hehe
Wow, you really take your time with this review don't you...
Which Streamer would you advice in order to read hires files saved on a Nas with this amp ?
Depends on your budget, iFi for budget, Bluesound for more cash, etc.
@@TheAudiophileMan thanks. Which solution would you advice in order to not lose audio quality when connecting it to my Technics amp? Around 1200 eur
Does this integrated amp accept banana plugs?
May i know what music is that on the 10:00 min mark?

How many watts RMS per channel, or isn’t that important to audiophiles?
@@TheAudiophileMan Thank you sir. It’s definitely not going to work for me.
Price is $2,700 on line. Too rich for me.
In US price $2.699 + 10% tax = $2.969 ☝
No anyone buying 😠
Danke!
Thank you! That's very nice of you, techmedrr.
Mate your Amplifier is upside down 🤣
everything this thing has looks just like Onkyo stuff even the printing on the case and the knobs and led text.....maybe the Onkyo guys went to technics before Onkyo went under... bankrupt 😮
I could do without the music
Hard pass.
@Taco Pretty much nothing that I want and everything that I don't want.
@@Roof_Pizza helpful..
@@georgescookie If you can't come up with one thing my list of ~10 wouldn't help you.
@@Roof_Pizza why would I or anybody else in the world care whats in your 'list of 10'
I have the sl-g700 and thinking about getting this int amp.... is the dac on this better than sl-g700?
It does not have a DAC module. Every signal is converted to digital and sent to the speakers in digital.
