Personally I would put injectors in it and tune it for pump e85 like you were planning on. That makes it much more friendly all around. Can still road trip it etc.
@@rockkhound943 My cost on injectors is something like 2700 and you still need to worry about the high pressure pump keeping up. Not really the recommended direction typically.
From personal experience and building for other customers, I put in a stage 2 TSP cam kit with the 30 percent fuel lobe. Then drop down a size or 2 on blower but leave stock lower, then the 2in stainless works or kooks headers..like you have.. same intake you have then 3in cat back, flex fuel kit then a good pump gas and e85 tune. This comb makes good power plus reliable and without losing a ton of MPG. Really only thing you have left is do a stage 2 TSP cam kit so you can let that LT breathe cause stock there way under camed. If you do the cam kit it'll definitely come alive..PLEASE it's us PLEASE do the cam kit..lol..Any who RICH RULEZZ BABY!!!

One thing I noticed years ago is a mustang dyno can be set up to read anyway the operating person chooses. I had a lil ls1 Making 468hp and 420tq back in 2003 and it was a stang dyno. I went to a jet expecting to see close to 500hp on this motor. Well, it made 473hp. Only 5hp more. I was disappointed, but learned something that day. Nice video.

After putting a Whipple on my ride I can comfortably say I'm glad I just went with a 93 tune. Being able to fuel up and not worry about fuel issues makes it worth it to me. Plus hardly any e85 around me
I just go to the pump for E and I try to not go over 50%. The p3 guage is easy and having the ability to get that extra 40hp when needed is nice. Mostly, I just run my car on 93.
Most of the time when things start dropping torque is due to timing falling. After it’s been dynoed multiple times in a row and things get warm/hot. Ecu will start pulling timing to keep detonation under control. Weather it’s IAT, coolant temp, oil temp etc… Whatever it uses to make decisions. Most all times when you add timing obviously it’s gonna make more hp, but it usually always picks up early torque #’s and carries peak tq higher. 👍
Do it. I've had an 04 GTO that has been running an Alky control meth kit for 10+ years now with 20,000 miles on a full built ls1 making 600whp. Drives great and a blast to drive. No regrets.

If I had your car, I would get the most power out of my car I could get with pump gas so you don't have to mix fuel. Get other supporting mods, I'm not sure what they would be but maybe a cam, pullies, injectors, etc. Sick car btw
It's easy to just pump in some E at the pump. A guage tells you your % and as fat as mixing, it is effort-less. I add E to my zl1 when I hit the track.

I have to mix ethanol for my f150 and it's still worth it. I can only run E50. Just have an ethanol content gauge, not integrated into the ecu. Lucky gm guys.

I dont have a Maro but have a RCSB chevy truck that I started the same way. Small than now huge. TSP 408LS BTR turbo cam 2.5 PRC heads D1X procharger built 4L80 an 8.8 with all built everything in it. Its dropped 4 6 bell tech an every bearing I replaced with SKF bearings. She is on HP tuners as well for now. Makes 800+ an very good torques. Very awesome car though Rick. Been wondering when you where going to bring it back on.
Meth should tighten the fuel gap and make it a bit safer. Well safer with more power but we all know more power has more potential for catastrophe. Seems like ur on the right track 👍

Rick could’ve bought a 3/4ton or 1 ton diesel truck for less money and then modified it with not much money at all and seen more HP and way more Torque plus got better fuel economy and been able to pull a trailer. I run a 07 Ram dually 4x4 with a diesel and I’ve only got a small programmer a Smarty JR set at towing ( 75hp ) power level and with my transmission having the pressure turned up on it I while towing my 40’ gooseneck trailer loaded it gets me around 14-16mpg at 65mph and will bark 3&4 gears.
I say drag it feist and get a number. Then upgrade and get a number it will give you and everyone else more data. Plus you can make more videos for this series.

Meth kit pulley it and make a call to Fuel Injector Clinic to get improved flow from injectors. You can always tune it back to run E90 or E85. You say numbers don’t matter but they do matter in your own mind. Whether you share that number or not. Maybe change to a better fuel pump as well. So your not running your pump at close to 100 percent. As I said. You can have different tunes for the car. Then you can always turn it up on kill if you decide to take it to the track. I would love to have seen a comparison between stock and tuned on a race course track. Just a apples to apples comparison between upgrades. Just my two cents.

I’ve heard them say it over and over again it’s because the people who donate money is why they can do what they do. How many people at a regular job are able to afford all that they have and spend so much more money on top of a ZL1 Camaro have what is it 2 or 3 X3s now. Plus they just bought Doug’s RZR back for a insane amount $15k and it was wrecked.
Need a mild cam bigger injectors and high flow fuel pump and small pully and that's another 150 plus hp... keep it 93 pump gas. Makes life better when you can road trip the hell out of it and have ton of fun and keeps at all safe
HP seems low to me. A guy I work with bought a Challenger Scat Pack. Put a Pro Charger on it, and that is putting 928 to the wheels. The ZL1 is so sick though!

Do a btr stage 2 cam, smaller pulley and keep it on E85. She’ll rip and be reliable. Plus you’ll get more fuel from the fuel lobe on the stage 2 cam.
Or just put bigger injectors in it. Either way doing something to keep it in E would be way more friendly with the power gain he wants.

yep. Methanol greatly increases engine wear too. Stick to pump gas.

Maybe down on torque because of less alcohol content in the fuel. Ethanol and more so methanol picks up torque all around with no other changes.
