I’ve been riding this same bike in Cambodia for almost a year, every day. Many many miles and every road is an adventure road here. Lots of rain, dirt, mud, rocks, everything you can think of. I have a top box for groceries or to lock my helmet, and rack from Thailand. A fairly big windscreen from I think the cb500x with handlebar mounts. I got mini driving lights custom mounted that switch from white to yellow. An LED ice-blue color bulb in the stock headlight unit. Handguards too. The bike is so reliable and tough. Good on gas. Economically priced overall. I change the oil and it keeps going. No issues. I could use those tires you have on yours. I’m considering trading to Kawasaki Versys 300 or the Honda 300L with 17s Supermoto wheels. But for now I’m totally satisfied.
Fantastic. I actually just started to look for parts to the same thing! This is great inspiration. Also, a well put together video. I'll contact you if I run into issues!
Just yesterday I bought a 2015 CB300f, with thoughts of making an adventure bike. Now I see your video, and I think I've made the right decision. Love everything about your bike. I too, live in the Ozarks. Southern Missouri..
Coolest set of mods ever for this bike! You've repurposed it perfectly. I have a 2016 CB300F and I love it, except for the huge exhaust can. But mine is for commuting around Bangkok and the horrible traffic here. Whenever I decide to move upcountry, I am going to do some of these mods. Thanks so much for sharing your project with us, Les! Ride safely, friend.
Love this idea. I’m currently in the same boat you were in Les. Dual sport bikes are simply too tall, and under powered for highway use. I too just had this idea whilst looking at scrambler type bikes lol. So I sought to look them up on UA-cam, and I found you my friend. Love what you’ve done to this bike!!!
great idea.. i was thinking about something like this too.. on this bike or a gw250 Suzuki.. i have same issue,, dual purpose or dirt bike sit up too damn high.. its frustrating.. this is perfect.. good looking scrambler with great ideas.. little taller wind screen and off road exhaust tip would be great addition.. heated handle grips.. maybe couple small things more.. but all and all its nice to see someone around my age with the same idea. thanks for posting video of bike..
Les, I live not in but very near to the Ozarks. And this is an awesome build. This is right up me and my wifes alley. Kind of a go anywhere do anything bike.
A very nice and well thought out build. Looks awesome with the nobbies. Just inherited a 2016 CB300F in black and I love it. I'm a new rider, been riding a month and happy this is my bike.
Very cool bike, Les. Been thinking along these lines myself. Not loving the selection of low-end adventure/dual sport bikes, and I'm not looking for something that needs to do extreme dirt riding. Just something good for exploring dirt roads and maybe the smoothest of trails on camping trips and what not (I'm in KC, so maybe I'd end up around you at some point). But most of the time it would need to be a commuter and have decent road manners. I'm looking at the new CB300R, which is quite similar, and seems perfect for my road riding needs. Seems like some light mods like this could be the ticket.
Nice job. Could recommend you look at maybe getting slightly wider handlebar for easier off road handling. You'd have to be careful that didn't force you into control cable upgrades etc. That's why I said slightly. But you did a great job. Factory should hire you as a idea guy. Love the look and the expanded benefits it offers.
You are a smart man, I have been thinking about doing the same thing but not as fancy or expensive. I found that same bike used in very good condition, lowmiles for $2,600 and I'll probably just put the knobbie tires on it and call it good. I can change thing as I feel the need but I would be using it in dry conditions only. There is very little percipatation here anyway.
After seeing this video I kind of wish I had kept my CB300F. Great build, it looks awesome with those tires on it! I was thinking of doing the same but not as in depth as your build. I agree it is a very nimble bike and gets great gas mileage. I was lucky to trade the cb300f for an 01 VFR800... much heavier but that sound is music to my ears. The funny thing is on the cb300f I was on my tippy toes, but on the VFR I can almost flat foot. I now plan to just get a grom and put some knobbys on it
Hi, good review, I'm a big fan of small displacement bikes. Especially Honda's. You've given me something to think about, i was interested in the cb500f.
Hope you can tell me how she handles off road. I’m not looking to wheelie or do any stunts. But I love trail riding & chasing down fire roads & country sides with a few hills to jump. Please let me know how she operates under those conditions.
I like what you did to this bike. Pretty cool idea, nice mods, looks great and I'm sure it performs well. I do wonder why you feel you need 2 feet on the ground though to ride a bike? That's not necessary at all.... Actually I had a cb300f I could not reach my two feet on the ground with it, I'm around 5'8
When you come to a stop for added stability and comfort. Also, if you can only get one foot on the ground when stopped your posture is shifted so much so that you increase the chances of mishaps.
Hello, I love what you did with your cb300f and I would like to know if the front fender should be raised to install the tkc 80 and how did you make your front fender riser because I do not find anything in aftermarket parts.
That was interesting...Thank goodness we still have some innovative people around...The younger generation never gives their mind enough time to sit and think and get creative, as its always being entertained by having their nose stuck in a damn cell phone.
Hey this is not the same guy in the video but I just bought this exact bike in the video. Glad I found the video so now I know everything that's on it. It's in Houston TX now. I bought it from someone who saved it from a barn, it sat for a year or two covered in chicken poop 😂. It's in great shape still, has every part he added in the video and a new exhaust.
I just bought one identical to yours from the dealer today, Just curious as to what you gave for yours? Trying to see if I did any good. I feel happy with my purchase
I have the same bike and want to adjust handlebars as you have. Where did you buy the 1" riser with 1' setback? Just what I need for my red 2018 cb300F.
Tried to gmail you but it does not work. Need the risers for the front fender and links to some of the upgrades you made. I live in Missouri just north of Kansas City and found a need for this bike as you did. Would love to ride to lake of the Ozarks for an afternoon ride. I'm about your age and would love to meet.
I THINK THAT WOULD BE A GREAT BIKE TO REFIT FOR A SCRAMBLER, JUST SAW A VIDEO ON YOU TUBE ON THE 2017 SUZUKI SV 650 SCRAMBLER CHECK IT OUT, AND THANKS FOR WATCHING MY VIDEO , RIDE SAFE, LES MANNING.

This is EPIC. I plan on doing this with my CB300R. Thank you for the video!

Can you list your mods I want to set a bike up for my wife the same as you have done to your bike. Great job looks great

The way you looked to the other camera gave me life
Nice ! This certainly can serve as a mild adventure machine. Well thought out. Kudos. Trinidad & Tobago.

Good job man! I live in PA. Lots of gravel roads and trails to ride. My cb300f needs some new skins so this is on my list for winter maintenance.
I had a 305 scrambler in 1969 , I was kinda scared of it but it was fun .
Very cool! I am looking for a smaller bike to turn into a scrambler myself and I am considering the CB300F. Very helpful.

Ha! And now I see it's for sale. Hmm.

Well done, you save me a lot of time in searching. Would like to do the same to my 500 model
I love what youve done to your bike. Really awesome looking

you could always have put dogbones on it.

I love it you have done a great job.
Enjoy your bike. 👍🇬🇧
i like that you change the wheel on the bike look way better and must have more traction
Great looking CB300r. What were the tire sizes you leveraged?
Hope you can tell me how she handles off road. I’m not looking to wheelie or do any stunts. But I love trail riding & chasing down fire roads & country sides with a few hills to jump. Please let me know how she operates under those conditions.
I like this package for a fun and versatile bike. Would not have used the header wrap though. the pipe will rust fast with that on.
Great Job!!! I enjoyed this informative video
Awesome build!
Hi there. Nice video. Could you tell me which tyres these are please?
You are wise beyond your years my friend 😎
Been searching around to find a better fit and think this CB300F would make a great replacement for my 750 Shadow Aero.

Awesome setup!..good looking bike.. :)
I'm thinking about doing it to my mt07. Time to buy tires anyway.. figured I may get a avon trailrider 90% street 10% dirt.
Hi nice motorcycle., I wanted to ask you what size are the tires ?
You seem to be a lovely guy! I might want to do the same kind of thing but with a ktm duke 390. You got great ideas, thank you!
What make are the bar risers and where did you get them?
Hello, I love what you did with your cb300f and I would like to know if the front fender should be raised to install the tkc 80 and how did you make your front fender riser because I do not find anything in aftermarket parts.
That thing is awesome ! 👍
Love this! Nice build
Great ! Just great ! Trinidad & Tobago.
That was interesting...Thank goodness we still have some innovative people around...The younger generation never gives their mind enough time to sit and think and get creative, as its always being entertained by having their nose stuck in a damn cell phone.

Great bike. Great idea 👍🙂
I just bought one identical to yours from the dealer today, Just curious as to what you gave for yours? Trying to see if I did any good. I feel happy with my purchase
genius! I have the same bike same color! Am interested to do this as well!
I have the same bike and want to adjust handlebars as you have. Where did you buy the 1" riser with 1' setback? Just what I need for my red 2018 cb300F.
How did you attach the plate in front of the motor? I’m doing something similar to my cb300.
Are these Continental TKC80 tires that you used? What size?
I got a all black one! reds cool too
Please add the list of mods. Would like to upgrade some of the same things. Thank you in advance.
Any ideas on shaving a few pounds off this bike in stock trim? Or is the 348lb weight ok for off roading?
Great work thank you.
What is star designs
Hey, what size continentals do you have?
What lift kit did you use for the handle bars?
Tried to gmail you but it does not work. Need the risers for the front fender and links to some of the upgrades you made. Great build !!!
What size tires?
What handgaurds are those ?
that's a great idea , was thinking of doing same to a GS 500

nice mods. thanks for sharing
take it off road?
Looks great!
Brillant.
Well done!
perfect.i like it sir.
Great bike 👍
Very nice
Awesome
Very nice.
can't do that with a bigger bike IMHO.
heard they have bad clutches...true?
He posts a video then answers none of the questions.
Nice video. Today you would just buy a Kawasaki Versys-X 300 stock for the nearly perfect light adventure bike. Ask me how I know, ;-)
How DO you know?
The Versys is a nice bike. But it’s heavier, larger and more expensive than some people need.
The Versys is also a high-revving twin. There’s still a lot to be said for a mildly-tuned single on light trails and broken pavement.
the pad ,the engine can not be cool
i figured out that i just bought this exact bike from a dude still has the carbon fiber with the "boken scrambler" still able to be seen.
