I have been golfing for 40 years and the greatest tip I ever got was to feel the weight of the club head throughout the swing. The driver is one of the lightest clubs in the bag and so it is a good one to use. You will find you manipulate the club head less resulting in greater consistency and grater distance. You may have to lighten your grip pressure and pressure throughout your body in order to achieve this. Have one swing thought in your head of 'feel the weight of the club head'. Hope this helps.
Great to find more "swing the club/clubhead" teaching and not the same old body parts analysis. This drill may prove instrumental in my moving up to the longer clubs with my new swing. I'm relearning as I rebuild my game from decades of disuse. Golf is exciting and fun again now that I'm swinging the club and focusing on the target rather than some inane human concepts of "how" we do it clogging up my head. The less I think about swing the better my new swing works! Was a blast on the practice range today. I'll look at more of your stuff and start doing some reduced speed driver shots.
The great awakening. You still good with swinging versus positions and flipping??? I'm a new golfer. I was a decent but very inconsistent honest 12 with my flip hand eye coordination method but a solid 6 with my new "swing" method. I've heard probably 200 pros giving lessons to beginners and I've never heard one instructor just start by talking about this basic principle. It needs to be discussed first because everything else, grip stance, ball position etc is based on the very vital swinging principle. Even pros who flip slightly are still 95% using a swinging principle. It's mandatory. Good luck!!
@@timothyslaughter476 Yes. And my short game (I get to practice nearly daily) has gotten super hot. I won a Tad Moore Howitzer at the Mid-South Hickory Classic this year, in the chipping contest. My long game has come around as well (since the tournament). I'm only playing with hickories now, so I play the shorter courses/tees but love more shots than I hate these days. For me it's Grip, Alignment, Address, (balance), TARGET FOCUS, TEMPO, SWING! I wish I had more time to play. Reading Harvey Penick is good too. Using limited clubs to hit unlimited shots is a great thing too. Love a 2-3 club challenge. Enjoy your game!
@wadepatton2433 awesome. Yes it took a bit to totally ingrain this new paradigm in my game but totally worth it. I used some principles from Manuel detore about using just the upper arms to swing because I still had too much hand action after 40 years hitting at it! Takes time. But I'm playing well at 62 and can still move it 280 which is good by me. So much more consistent! I enjoy golf again! Peace friend.
Here’s the thing about golf in general, a lot of us are naturally good at sports, have good hand eye and balance this way we are able to hit the ball in almost any stance or configuration. Problem is to be consistent with a repeatable shot. Aim and distance control. So many times I see players wh hit wicked draw shots, only to hit the trees on the left, just aim right… same for fade, learn to aim for your shot shape, very few hit a “straight ball”
Thanks..been golfing for ten months now...and my biggest problem is trying to kill the ball instead of just having a smooth swing...takes time and it's counter intuitive...but, I'll make it!..thanks again.
Great advice. I'd like to see an instructor show this proper swinging theory versus the leverage action most amateurs use the chop at the ball with just the clubhead! Swoosh drill I'm not crazy about because you can get a good swish sound levering and flipping the clubhead. Also many golfers can and do make a nice swinging motion during a practice swing but throw it out the windows when they step up to a ball. This quarter swing speed method is good to break that habit of chopping and flipping versus swinging when we attempt to move a ball forward. We don't hit it forward we swing it forward!

Develop a swing and when you tee up, dont try and HIT the ball....let the ball just in the way of your swing.
I have a tendency to lift the club... any suggestions to overcome this?
La tee da👏
Thanks ! Just feel free to learn from my videos..
