Eh, I prefer his base design over Advent Children’s, so I switch between them.
Even before his new final smash I always used his Advent Children costume because I loved that it was from the movie
Edit: okay after watching Crisis Core and learning the legacy of the Buster Sword I use both costumes equally. I have a lot more respect for OG Cloud.

I always went with Clouds Advent Children costume in smash, and the fact that they put in his new final smash makes the costume even cooler.
Version 5? What happened to versions 2-4?
As I recall, the name comes from that original Sephiroth fight in the movie being rewritten five times. Version 5 is kind of a meta joke on that fact.

@@KAIsibs They're both Version 5. Fans call the one in Complete Version 6, but canonically that's just what Version 5 is ACTUALLY supposed to look like, as opposed to the one in the original movie.

Officially his second sword is called the First Tsurugi (the base sword for the set) and the Fusion Swords are attachments that he makes use of for things like Omnislash Version 5 (or version 6 from ACC) and the occasional dual wield for a few swings.

No they have the same stats and such
Yes and no. Each hit does more damage but there are less hits so it ends up being the same amount of damage over all for both versions
@@redram6080 I like to think that each Omnislash Version(And that's saying there are versions 2 through 4) do the same damage even In FF7 lore, and it just depends on what sword Cloud is using.
It's a meta joke, since the movie team wanted to make a new Omnislash that utilized the gestalt feature of the Fusion Swords, and it's the fifth version they came up with that made them happy.
Lorewise, it's not stated whether it's stronger than vanilla Omnislash, but Sephiroth expected the latter, since he was killed by it last time. Ver 5. is just basically an alternate form Cloud developed after since switching to the Fusion Swords and as his ace in the hole in case Omnislash SOMEHOW fails to cut it (hehe)
cloud tried to use omnislash v1 against sephiroth right before he stabbed him, it failed, and so cloud had to result to an alternate form of omnislash
