@MrMarioDuck axl is a top tier vocalist of all time, in any genre, that's why we still talk about him. i don't see anyone discussing patton, except in videos like these. sales don't mean a thing as far as talent goes but it does tell you how loved an artist is. g n'r fans love them enough to fork up the cash for the albums and put their money where their mouth is!
@MrMarioDuck no what i said is axl competes with the greatest vocalists across genres, not that he sings different genres. he is up there competing with jim morrison, janis, tina turner, robert plant, patsy cline, bowie, roy orbison, otis redding and all the top tier vocalists. he's up there with them. i would never think of patton as someone that can be talked about in the same vein as little richard but axl is. g n'r is the last great rock and roll band, so get the fuck out of here with patton and his crap music. patton is versatile in bad music, and only tone- deaf people appreciate his ass.
the fact that slash walks around and did his interview with guitar is why I love him. sometimes I don't care about all the questions. I'm sure he'd rather talk about Gibsons and guitars overall instead of anything else as well
I saw them all play on this tour. They came to England and played wembley stadium in the summer. A friend of my parents had been travelling with them through out Europe ( she was a writer for the sunday times paper ) and when they landed in England she had gotten Axls and Slashs autographs for me and 2 tour T shirts. Slashs autograph was awesome!! He had taken the time to draw a skull with and a top hat and some roses and wrote rock n fn roll" above it in the sane way as guns n fn roses was on their t shirts. I always respected the fact that he'd gone to such trouble for some 15 year old kid he had never met. He wished me a happy birthday and told me to take care and signed it. Made my year :D Axls autograph was just his name and the date but it was on a tour flyer and i was just chuffed to have it. He hated most writers and almost never gave autographs and only made the exception cause he really liker my parents friend. Anyway i got the whole birthday bundle a month or so before i saw them play wembley and I wore one of the t shirts every day leading up to the gig. So by the day of the gig it was grey and had holes in lol. Everyone lined up waiting to get in had bought their T shirts on the day and theres were immaculate and brand new so my wrecked one really stood out! Soo many people were like " dude! Wtf is up with t shirt looking old!?" And when i told them it really blew their minds lol. Strange cause as an adult now it means very little but as a 15 year old i was deliriously happy :D. Anyway, gnr were great that night and it was everything i had hoped for! Me and my 20 mates were thrilled beyond belief that we had been there :D. But to ne honest as an adult i dont treasure having seen them. Bevause ( and i was aware of this at the time but couldnt process it :) faith no more and soundgarden were a LOT better!!! Soundgarden were incredible!!!! They tore through badmotorfinger like they meant it!! :p Chris cornell blew my head off!!! :p. But, Mike patton?.......there are no words!!! He was breathe taking!!!! It was FNM Tearting through Angel Dust!!
I was at that same Wembley gig, couldn’t agree more re faith no more being amazing. I was 14 when I went - now 45 - and I still remember Mike Patton owning the stage!
At minute 6:15, the interviewer ask FNM "Do you know some music from this area? [...]" and he replies "No, we don't know much". At minute 7:39, I can see Billy Gould wearing a t-shirt of Michael's Uncle. Upon looking this band up, it seems to be a Czech band.
Pedroleum100 Hrmm. Interesting. Maybe this interview was the day before the performance and that night they hung out with some people who introduced them to some albums from Czech bands... and someone gave the shirt to Billy? or he bought it from a record store that evening after hearing the band for the first time? I dunno if that makes sense though; it’s just where my mind went...

As of now...yes , simply because I have never had the opportunity to see FNM live. I've seen GNR 3 times and , every time was a different lineup and they were amazing every time.

FNM, SG and voivod did a small club tour just before this and GnR takes them on arena tours in support just a few months later...probably overwhelming to most, but soundgarden had the opportunity to ride the big labels support and chose an indie to maintain full artistic control. Much less pressure when you don't get into debt paying back the labels investment.
