That solemn, heartbreaking moment where a woman has to bare her soul as payment because two consenting adults decided to be together. While the other is protected by every resource and male privilege his society has.
They are compared to Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton all the time but the situations are completely different. Monica wasn't a woman that Bill loved. She was some random intern who he may have had a little fling with and he may have cast her aside and then she went on national tv and told her side of the story of their relationship that caused him to be impeached because he lied about even being with her in the first place. Fitz and Olivia was a totally different situation. Olitz actually fell in love with each other but his presidency was more important and because of it they couldn't fully be together until now here in this post. As usual the woman is always the one blamed. Society feels like a woman has that much power to where a married man would just cheat on his wife with another woman and then make him leave his wife when really they don't. Fitz pursued Olivia and she knew that yes he was married but sometimes you can't control who you fall in love with. It's alot of people in this world who are unhappily married to people for whatever reason and then they meet the love of their lives and fall in love. This happened here. For years Fitz has been in a dead marriage and not his fault either. He met Olivia and fell in love at first sight. That's not something you can just get over so quickly. She has tried not to has fought him off has been with other men to make her forget about Fitz but she ends up only thinking of him the entire time. That's why she's saying here that don't ask her to fall out of love for Fitz because if she could she would but she can't. It's too deep and strong.
This is what she's saying. She's saying that if she never met Fitz she wouldn't know what real love feels like cause she never felt this way about anybody but him. He's the same way. Because of outside influences they could never be together. If he was a regular guy he couldve just divorced his wife a long time ago and they wouldve been together by now. Thanks to Cyrus and Mellie, he's a prisioner in his own presidency and marriage. The world doesn't know the truth about Mellie and Fitz because they have publicly said something different about how they met and their marriage as a whole so to them Olivia is a homewrecker but in reality you can't wreck what's already broken. Fitz is the president of the united states and he is the most powerful man on the planet but yet he has no privacy and he's not considered human but he is.

And she told Mellie the truth why she left Fitz because she didn't know him when he became available. It was just a complicated situation mixing politics, power and love. The cake comes out burnt. smh. But Olivia got what she wanted. A love that was painful, difficult, devastating, life changing, and extraordinary love. She spoke it into existence and that's what she got. Fitz was held down in a 20 year marriage arranged only for power. Poor thing never experienced love until he met Olivia. A woman full of baggage. Fitz overlooked it because his strong love outweighed the baggage Olivia carried. The man loved Olivia so much he gave the woman a ring that belonged to his great or grandmother or whoever, but the ring came from generations of his family and that was something special. And she wore that ring faithfully. Deaux BeBe. Olivia loved Fitz something fierce when she was totally alone with him. but the girl was something confused, crazy at times, power hungry, Ptsd more than Pms, lol. That's what love does to some people.

The problem with the Olitz relationship was it was never an affair and that was the problem. It was supposed to be just a sex thing and that's it and it never was. She always tried to downplay it by saying she was his mistress but he would shut it down every time and say she was more than that. Remember his famous words to her in the earn me episode when he told her you can't fix the fact that I love you.
Watching this scene after the awful mid-season finale just make it all 10 times harder. They are so meant to be together, I can't accept the fact they gave-up on each other & agreed they couldn't be a couple. Its wrong. SO wrong!!!!! especially after saying such beautiful words in front of AMERICA !
Even though see how she just told her TRUTH? Truth beyond them both is that they met and- fell in love, insistently, inconveniently, continuously-because they were supposed to! Each is obviously needed for mutual growth and expansion that could not arrive any other way. Destiny’s timing takes precedence. And all the others involved and possibly hurt by this truth are apart of these two soul group and they also need the experience to grow and change in some way they would not have without this experience. And consider that Liv and Fitz are being hurt without one another! They matter, their feelings matter, too. Complicated, but sometimes, a lot of times, life’s that way. We graduate to different levels in life so think of their experiences like graduating from kindergarten to grade school to high school to college. When it’s time to learn new lessons that you can’t learn from one stage you move on to the next. Others have to learn that it’s not about them anymore it’s about the education of Liv and Fitz.
