Great to see an update from you. Don't forget where your boat is - I wouldn't think that was possible except that I have 'lost' the car! Great advice and all delivered with just the right dash of humor.
I'm originally from England, but I emigrated to Alberta Canada in 1998, then moved slightly south lol to Houston Texas. I intend to return to England later this year, once I get all my ducks in a row and buy a live aboard Narrowboat. Hopefully will see you on the cut. Thanks for the vlogs they are wonderful!
Hi Seb and Jasmin, I live in states on the east coast. I enjoy watching or if working I just listen, I enjoy that. Here we have a boat but we do things a bit different. We have a "plastic boat" On a huge lake. On 5-5-2020 our club opened and I drove up and took the covering off the boat. When I took a break I was sitting in the sun and imaging the boat was in it's slip but in reality I was just sitting in the parking lot. It didn't matter I was on the boat. It should go in the water next week after the mechanic does some fixes. Thanx for the smiles you brought to me. Have a great day.
OM gosh, you are so infectious. I am currently saving to get my own boat. I would love a 60'to70' wide beam, but for practicality, cost and ease of traveling the network I am probably going to get a 57' cruiser stern with a reverse layout. I love the idea of being able to move my home, although I am not going in to this with my eyes closed. I understand about the cost of a permanent mooring, having to get your boat blacked every few years, replacing the batteries, maintenance costs of engine and all other parts of the boat, crt costs , fuel for boat and heating etc...and the list goes on. Not the cheapest way to live. But how exciting and worthwhile. Thank you for this, has given me more to consider. Keep up the good work.
60 to 70 foot wide beam ? what you gonna do with all that space? have you need the playlist i have of videos for people thinking of buying a boat ? ua-cam.com/play/PLHxNsC0zCUXFZc4UYfMEjiOTxuQA4FzXc.html
Great advice there girl, if you have a dry powder fire extinguisher don't forget to give it a good shake once a year, I do mine at the end of daylight saving when we check the smoke detectors. All the best and good to see you again
We are thinking of buying a narrowboat, not to live on. What are your thoughts on security? We were told you really need to put a boat in a marina, if we are not going to be on it full time.
seems a shame to take up a continuous cruiser spot with an empty boat... ours was robbed about a year ago when we worked late one evening, would definitely pose a security risk if its always empty, a secure marina would sort that issue.
I've just stumbled upon your UA-cam channel and I've been binge watching. So wonderful, please make more cooking, foraging, inside tour of your boat videos. Keep smiling young lady. Oh, there used to be a puppet theater on a narrowboat at venice carnal I think. I went in 2005 with friend. Can you do a video about it, that's if it still in action. Love your channel Jasmin💕😘
Hi ! Seen that just today and laughed a lot. What about "Don't drive with the weed hatch open ?" I'd heared that this could end up in a boat sinking ... Well. Most likely you would find "Another 10 Things Not To Do On A Narrowboat" for a future video.
Thank you! Moving onto a boat with my husband and our cats next week. Helpful information. Maybe we will see you in the Midlands someday. Or somewhere else who knows 😁
@@ThisNarrowboatAdventure that would be immensely helpful to us. We are putting up two carpeted shelves next to two windows and might mod one or two to be slide open with screens for more air but they can't get out that way. We are also getting a screened cratch cover for the bow ... the stern entrance I don't know. Was thinking about a giant mosquito net and draping that over the odd "L Shape" entrance to keep them in. Mind you when we are at home or by very quiet places they will be able to explore but they've been indoors only their whole lives- I appreciate that a narrowboat is small but they'll be so much closer to nature and have access to the outdoors in safe places. Litter boxes take up so much room on a narrowboat!!! Haha. Any tips would be soooo appreciated

Don't have a party on the roof! If you think six people sitting on one side is bad, six people standing on one side of the roof will be even worse. If alcohol is involved, just don't even think of going on the roof. The roof should only be used for its intended purpose (storing coal, wood, bikes or, in your case, as an allotment).
Your title says things not to do ON a narrowboat; I dont think you can forget where you put your narrowboat while you are ON the narrowboat, a VERY brief search should reveal it. Although I suppose you could be on someone ELSE's narrowboat and forget where yours is. In which case, maybe you're better off not able to find yours.
if you want it for pleasure it might be worth looking into co-ownership or just renting for when you want it , cos then you can rent in a different part of the system each time and see lots of different parts of the country and you wont have to pay the maintenance (which is significant)
