- Welcome back to the complete history of series! A spinoff series to my long running history of series!
This episode’s topic is brought to you by the letter L & the number 2! That’s right it’s a Sesame Street history video, but not just any Sesame Street history video but rather a history video on Sesame Street Live and every time it has visited my hometown of Louisville Kentucky! This video I go over every Sesame Street live show that has visited here as well as going over the plots and trivia about each show as well as a few interesting pieces of trivia related specifically to the Louisville performances like the venues and promotions. There are also a few bonus non sesame shows sprinkled throughout the video because why not?

Update 2: The Fraggle Rock Live show is coming to Louisville on Wednesday March 5th, 2025 at the Louisville Palace.
Yay 🥳
please make more sesame street live videos like this please
Awesome!
can you do a history of video for sesame street vhs tapes.
If you can make more Sesame Street live videos or Sesame place videos or maybe Barney live videos that'll be great
The history video we didn't ask for but deserved!!! I love the Sesame Street Live history and it still is to this day.
I Am Happy that he made this video I think this is the first time seeing a history about Sesame Street But I did know that he made a big bird costume and it’s not bad.
Same!
Good to see a video like this
Nathan does love his fans after all
Me too, I love Sesame Street and their history.
This is a great history video, honestly. Sesame Street Live is one of the most memorable and historical theater productions to ever exist, alongside Disney Live/On Ice, Cats, Wicked, Dr. Seussical, and Phantom of the Opera. Interesting how your city had a long history of SSL, which is insane because that has been as long as the touring production itself going across the cities. I know Sesame Street came to my city, when I was a kid, and I’m on the same boat as you because I never saw any of the shows in my hometown either, unfortunately. Not to mention, a few SSL shows to came to Asheville, KY but at the BB&T Arena, where I also saw a Wiggles concert in person, at one point. Oh, and I don’t blame you about not seeing any concerts or theatrical productions in person (even for a while) because I used to have sensory issues due to my autism, but not anymore because I started going concerts, sporting events, and theater productions in person, as an adult. So, I have been overcoming my sensory sensitivity for a while now. I know Sesame Street came to my city, which is Cincinnati, even before I was born. I do remember looking it up, as a child. I even heard a commercial of SSL on the radio back in 2015 while I was out with my mom and grandfather (may he rest in peace). I didn’t pay a lot of attention to Sesame Street since I grew out of it, by the time I was 13. However, I did get a bit more interested in the franchise itself, just for nostalgia sake when I was becoming an adult, and when one of my teachers in high school had us read a few articles about Sesame Street, including one about autism. Apparently, the only Sesame Street attraction outside the tv show that I experienced was when I got to sit on a Big Bird statue at the PBS Kids Backyard playground in this mall called Cincinnati Mills, which is now permanently closed. Looking back, I wish I got to go to one of the Sesame Street live shows, as a kid. Maybe one day I’ll take my future kids to see SSL.
This was a great “History Of” video you put out…incredibly phenomenal! Outstanding documentation! You really put a lot of work into this!
I never really knew anything about Sesame Street Live, until I watched this. I’ve only heard of it here and there and kind of overlooked it. Very interesting, though.
Long ago (early 90s to be exact), when I was in kindergarten, a friend/classmate of mine had a SSL t-shirt, suggesting that he went to one of the shows. I, however, never saw the show.
Oh boy it’s finally here
I love your channel so much!!! I just came across it today, and it was worth it!!!
I’ve been a Sesame Street fan for 16 years and I will always love that show for the next ten years. ❤😊
I live near Louisville, so it was fascinating seeing the history of Sesame Street Live in Louisville. I saw Big Bird's Sesame Street Story, Big Bird and the ABCs, Sleeping Birdie, and Elmo's Coloring Book (the 1997 run).
With such a gap between the last two that I saw, I was thinking that Elmo's Coloring Book was at a different venue than the previous three I saw, but you say they were at the same venue that long. Must be a memory problem.
I feel like I recall hearing about Cookie Monster making an appearance at Green Tree Mall in 1998. Regardless, I didn't go when Cookie was there. I keep thinking I heard about it and wanted to go and get Cookie's autograph.
Hooray this is amazing thank you Nathan
Great job on this video, Nathan! It’s funny how Avenue Q came right after Sesame Street. Almost like a way for adults to be entertained after being forced to take their kids to Sesame Street. Also, it’s been a while since a CEC History Video, any ones planned?
Sesame Street Live was a regular event at my home town (Mobile Alabama) and so I went to a lot of the shows. I’ve been to When Elmo Grows Up, Elmo’s Heathy Hero’s, Elmo Makes Music, Make A New Friend, Let’s Party, and Make Your Magic. I still love SSL to this day.
Great video! I’m a huge muppet fan but like you I’ve never seen Sesame Street live either, not even Barney or Blue’s Clues live on stage as a kid. From what I know Barney and Sesame Street toured live near me at the Nassau Coliseum, except Blue’s Clues which I’m sure toured at Radio City and the theater at MSG and some other local performing arts theaters nearby, but I recently got hooked into liking big/smaller stage touring productions and I would love to go to one even as an adult. Maybe something that’s targeted to adult audiences such as Avenue Q since it’s right up my alley.
I would love to see fraggle rock on tour too! I wonder if that’s ever coming to New York
That was a great video on Sesame Street Live and I can't wait to see what you'll do with the Barney stages shows
i've been to FIVE different shows (elmo's super heroes in 2012 being my favorite) and that really sparked my interest in SSL as a kid, learning most of my info from muppet wiki.
also when i went to see SSL in 2012, they were also selling elmo's coloring book CDs.
YES! IT HAS PREMIERED!!!!
My dad took me twice to Sesame Street Live in the 2000s. Grunjetta sat next to me and terrified me. Both times we left at the start of the show, I was afraid of costume characters, and my dad put us in front seats. 😂
The picture of Big Bird with “L” is great meme material
Why?
Hopefully you'll do mascot history videos on the sesame street characters
I saw Sesame Street live 3 times as a kid (in NJ though) I saw Elmo makes music twice in 2009 and can’t stop singing a year later Iremember it being before 2014 though cuz I remember watching it in kindergarten and I was in THIRD GRADE in 2014 so maybe it came to nj theatres before louisville?
Heck yea! I love live entertainment/stage shows!
Hopefully at some point we get a video on the History of the Shrek costume at the Universal Studios Parks.
What one neat thing about Sesame Street live, Was that the big bird that was in it, (what I’m thinking) was the actual big bird puppet from the actual show, and that Oscar would be a big puppet, Or sometimes he’d be like what Elmo and the others would be. Pretty neat huh?
Actually big bird isn’t the one used in the show. It’s made by Vee Corp, the real one doesn’t normally wear a tie.
I love this 🎉
0:14 the letter L, and the number 2!
Yes please do barney live.
I wanna see him do other live shows (other than Barney) in general!
@@kyliethelittlecouragegirl94bear and the big blue house is another good one
It's always sunny on Sesame Street.
😂 🤣
@@kyliethelittlecouragegirl94 Yes it is.
Nice history video you should do the history of the Louisville zoo
I actually knew about the Ice Follies and Holiday on Ice merger leading to Disney on Ice. TPMVids did a video on that a while ago.
I’ve been to some Sesame Street concerts in Louisville KY
Pretty interesting.
Hey Nathan , could you do "The Completed History of Thomas And Friends LIVE ON STAGE in Louisville KY"?.
The live show "Everyone Makes Music" which never came to your hometown is the Sesame Street live show I remember seeing when I was little, can't remember which city though.
This is wicked mate - I grew up on Sesame Street !!! Have an awesome day!💥From Fun At Home (Hot Wheels, Lego, Cards, Stamps & collectables)☮
I’ve loved it, especially season’s 40-45
Yo! Would you do a series of _Yo Gabba Gabba!_ videos?
Finally!!!
49:16: It's Barney
YAY!
Maybe do Thomas and friends live come to Louisville complete history video
Nah Thomas And Friends Live Only Came To The Uk And Asia
I remember watching that Elmo in Grouchland movie all those years ago. I actually did some digging and found my VHS copy! Thanks for the reminder of the movie!
Lucky, I’ve always wanted to see that movie
@CoreythelordoftheIsles There are a few recordings of it on Dailymotion available for free if you want to watch it.
I like this interesting history
Dang, I live really close and I thought this was just a fever dream I had when I was five
I remember when I was 5 in ‘08 I dropped a can of soup on my toe, had to go to the hospital, and got tickets to SSL super Grover (upstate NY) for handling it like a champ
It was a family tradition to go to Sesame Street Live when I was a kid. Never saw a show after Feld took over...but, it sounds like Feld ruined it and then canceled it. I hope whoever took it over does better with it.
Sometimes I wonder why Sesame Street didn’t perform at Barclay’s Center in Fort Greene nor at The UBS Arena in Nassau County?
I just hoping that at least one time they performed it in Florida
NO WAY!!!!!!!! HE JUST SAID PENSACOLA @ 28:45!!!!!!! IT'S 1 HOUR AWAY FROM WHERE I AM AT!!!!!!! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!
You in?
Can u plz try and find bear in the big blue house a first time for everything
And other bear live shows plz
Welcome back to the complete history of series! A spinoff series to my long running history of series!
But Nathan 2001 was the release date for everyone makes music
Sesame Street live didn’t visit Louisville in 2001
@@NathanSpies oh I see
Wonder if Sesame Street live will ever come back to Australia after you know big bird got stolen
I’m tmnt fan
I have autism and I don't think I had sensory problems I've pretty much seen every Sesame Street live show that came out since I was younger I was born in 2003 so I don't think I started going until I was in kindergarten
Question? Do you call big bird the mascot of Sesame Street or Elmo the mascot of Sesame Street (my opinion big bird is the mascot of Sesame Street Elmo is badly bad)
How about the history of Sesame Place in Philadelphia.
Any Hidden Kermit The Frogs in Sesame Street Live? Kermit the frog is the 100% Sesame Street related character. 😎👍🏻💯
Kermit never appeared in any Sesame Street live shows
@@NathanSpies dude he’s a sesame workshop related character. 😎👍🏻💯
@@OfficialMisterRogersJr I know that but I meant he didn’t show up in any Sesame Street live stage shows
@@NathanSpies without Kermit The Frog then the birth of Sesame Street would not exist at all, because Kermit The Frog is the founder & foundation of Sesame Workshop you know. 😎👍🏻💯
Where did you find the old tour dates?
I found them on newspapers.com
How about Teletubbies live next?
I like Sesame Street Muppets I watch Sesame Street sent I was a child but I still like Sesame Street lives and I like The Muppet Show live.
Yes do Barney live
I'm surprised that Sesame Street Live has alot of fan favorite shows.
