QUESTION- Pause between 1:10 to 1:11 and you'll see that the lady places her left foot pointing left (outside/away from the guy) and turns towards the camera; that's because she's in the class with you and knows what is expected. BUT in socials, how to lead/prepare for an outside turn?
Hi there, the hands are leading her away from me. This is a lead for the turn, she wouldn't know to turn unless is was lead. First this I do is get out of her way, this creates a lane on my right so she knows that is where is going, second you'll notice my hands are in front of her shoulders here so that she doesn't "follow me" she stays in a different lane. Now of 5, my right and left hand are guiding her forward and away from me, this signals that she steps forward and then turns. Its not a huge motion but just enough for her to understand that this is not just a walk forward but a turn. This is 100000% social dance lead-able. It just take practice and implementing the details. Hope this helps :) Also this is from our course, so there is much more leading and following details that come before this tutorial that would make this a lot easier to do if you completed the tutorials in the order we laid out in the course :)
