You can do it in Vanille, but the Champions are a little bite hard to unlock, cause you need to defeat the gym tournament 10 Times.

@@headoftheorder-el7ihFirst, you have to beat the main story, and you’ll unlock the specialty tournaments at the PWT. Next, you have to beat the Unova Leaders Tournament once to unlock the other Leader Tournaments. Third, you have to beat each of the Leader Tournaments once, those being Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova Leaders, to unlock the World Leaders Tournament. Finally, you have to beat the World Leaders Tournament ten times. This is EXTREMELY difficult, so all I can really say is, good luck, you’re gonna need it! At the very least, you only have to beat the Unova Leaders Tournament once

@SamFagundes yes, I have multiple DS/3DS and all Pokemon games. Still have my Black 2 with save file from around 2012 too.
Edit: I think I misunderstood. No, I didn't trade for it. I RNG'd it via breeding in Black version and traded it to my own Black 2 version where I actually play.
