this is one of my favourite interviews of like anyone, it's pretty cool to have that sneak peek into Tyler's brain just for a second. you should definitely watch some more interviews, there are some other really good ones out there, (also some absolutely terrible ones). he's got two kids now, Rosie who's almost 4 and Junie who's about 1 1/2. Looking forward to watching more reactions from you guys
I love introspective tyler, but one of the greatest things about this interview was that he was so open. Lol..ngl I also love that 70% of the time he gives interviewers the run around, he barely ever answers the questions, he rather be sarcastic than give a standard response. He respects zane quite a bit I think because I have seen him make some interviewers squirm, either cause they get too honest of an answer or can't get nothing. He just seems like the type who won't put on a facade and what u see is what u get, in any given moment. I have seen many an interview where he is asked a bad question and he doesn't hesitate to point it out..sometimes just to be funny and sometimes cause he's like 🙄
Tyler Joseph is my favorite artist. Just so genuine and intelligent. I look up to the guy. I think he was probably creating the whole time, but was feeling that it was “uninspired”…if that makes sense.
Love that you did this one! Really great commentary along the way. Yeah, this interview is outstanding, imo. Tyler is such an inspiring human, especially when he allows us ti see the introspection. Zane really brought that out. It's really cool to go back and watch this after diving through Trench and SAI. Can't wait for the next album! 💛|-//💛
You asked about personal history of suicide, or a friend.... we can only speculate, mostly through lyrics, but we don't know. As Tyler said, it's not healthy to give out the keys to his house.
I don't know if Tyler has lost anyone close to suicide, but several songs talk about it. He has also dealt with suicidal thoughts himself and I believe tried to take his own life once. "Guns for Hands" is a song he wrote after he heard of several of their fans that had killed themselves. "Neon Gravestones" is about the romanticization of suicide and how we need to stop it. "Redecorate" was a song he wrote after a friend's son took his own life, and how the parents refused to move anything in his room and kept it the same as when he died.
I know this is old and you guys most likely no longer remember, but I just have to: 13:00 Trench wasn't made for the mainstream no, the song project he had gotten(song for the Suicide Squad movie) would be a representation of his fans to the mainstream. I loved the respect and attention you gave this interview while also giving your own input and thoughts in relation to your own lives. Also the observations you made about Tyler. Huge respect for taking back your kind of criticism about people/Tyler just having to keep going when they feel uninspired once you realized it didn't really fit with Tyler.

Exactly! And especially since he prefaced it by saying "he has a lot to say."
