I don't necessarily think she's demanding rights, but taking the girl out of the question, illegal immigrants who do pay taxes in some form are unable to qualify for some benefits citizens receive, naturally since they are not citizens. While I'm not familiar myself to speak with a certainty on how undocumented immigrants come to pay taxes to their state or elsewhere, I think she might have done it more to say that there are some undocumented immigrants who despite working hard and giving their dues to the country they live in (for the sake of this, let's disregard the nature of their illegal status or the reasons why the path to residency or citizenship was not taken) will never truly reap the fruits of their labor.
Perhaps in the future something can be done to help immigrants become documented, or even create a better path to it to lessen the amount of persons who see and experience the process to register and obtain a visa or work permit to be arduous, and thus succumb to fear that living illegally is their one and only last option.There should be some clearer paths. It's quite sad to think that for many perhaps it's their only option, and will risk everything just for the barest possibility of a better life

It took my mom 10 years....10 YEARS....to become a US citizen and this was back in the 90’s. She filed the proper documentation and studied the constitution, the laws.. and took the test, missed 1 question and was denied the first time, took the test a second time and passed. Fact is she persevered through the years and did the steps to become legal.

Ever wonder why people would risk going through the desert to get into the US instead of entering with a work visa? For those who are poor in mexico it is EXTREMELY difficult to get a work visa for the US. The $130 non-refundable processing fee creates a huge barrier for the poor and they aren't even guaranteed entry. Through desperation they would choose to cross the desert in hopes of a better life than try to get a visa.
If the US and mexico had a similar visa setup like with Canada they could enter and leave more safely and then the only people crossing the desert would be drug smugglers or people forced to smuggle. This I think would be a better alternative than what we have now. The new source of people could setup new businesses and contribute to the US legally without worry of being kicked out.

The state-level laws provide various benefits for undocumented students, such as access to in-state tuition rates or eligibility for certain scholarships or state financial aid. However, “the way it operates and who qualifies can vary state to state and college to college,” she says. Check the NILC’s list to see if your state has such legislation.

Qualifying criteria include how long students have to be in the state; whether they’ve graduated high school or received a GED in that state; and whether they can attend college right after high school (a few states, such as Florida, require time in community college first), Bohorquez says.
Fact 3: The DREAM Act and DACA are not the same.
People commonly mix up the federal DREAM Act and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program or think they’re the same.
DACA is a policy created in 2012 by President Obama. It grants deferred deportation to people under age 31 who came to the U.S. under age 16 and meet other criteria. If you apply and qualify for DACA, you’re allowed to be in the U.S. legally, apply for employment authorization and receive a Social Security number. Broder says you can also receive a driver’s license in every state but Nebraska. DACA provides legal presence, but not legal status, Bohorquez explains. Once approved, DACA protection only lasts two years, but it can be renewed if you meet qualifications again.

In fact, in many countries, there is no path to citizenship regardless of your status; you have to be born within certain ethnic group to qualify for citizenship. This country bends over backwards to offer citizenship to people from across the world; as long as they play by the rules. Offering path to citizenship for folks like her will encourage more people to break the law. The only people she needs to blame is her parents.
I get what you are saying, but you are wrong when you say that "there is no path to citizenship in any country if you are illegal". Actually, you´d be surpised to hear that if the situation was reversed (she being born in the US and taken to Argentina and having grown up there), she would have absolutely no issues getting citizenship, at all. Just walk to an Argentinian embassy and ask around. Or, you know, go to the Argentinian´s Ministry of Foreign Relations website and look for yourself. You will not be able to get it right away, but in the situation this girl is, there definitely is a legal path.
Of course she can acquire Argentinian citizenship through her parents just as you could acquire US citizenship through parents if you are born overseas to US citizen parents, that is a legal path to citizenship. My daughter was born was born overseas and became US citizen through me. I couldn't smuggle my daughter into the US and demand citizenship, that would be illegal just as I couldn't just go to Argentina and apply for Citizenship.
Yes, you could totally just go and apply for Argentinian citizenship. The scenario I was referring to was the oposite as the one described in the video. If she was in Argentina being born in the US and taken to Argentina at the age of 6 by US born parents with no argentinian citizenship, she would still have a completely legal path to citizenship. Thats my point. You can check it for yourself if you want to.

The form is a 1040 which is a federal tax form, not state taxes. Which she stated. Also, if she files for taxes, she is semi documented as you need to have a social or a tax ID. And she is using public roads (tax funded), probably went to public school (tax funded), if she gets sick will go to a tax funded facility, if she needs to call the police, it is tax funded. They should be paying taxes if they are using these benefits. They are using tax dollars and should be paying into them.

So she isn't undocumented. If she gets sick, an ambulance would come, and take her to a hospital that the city pays to have here, on public roads paid for with tax money. If she crashes her car, the police funded by tax dollars will come, and if her house on American soil burns down, the fire department paid for with taxes will put it out. If someone were ever to assault her, the police would arrest them all the same. So any notion that she doesn't see benefits from tax dollars is a lie. I would also like to point out she says "Many people come here legally, and overstay their visas, and I want to bring light to that" She literally just said "I want to bring light to another way that people illegally immigrate to the U.S." By getting work Visa, and then not continually reapplying for a work visa like the law says. And just like any other law, you should be punished for breaking it. If you are an illegal immigrant, that means you get deported. Thats how immigration works.

1040 IRS Form, that is NOT filed to pay AZ Taxes. She's in a vehicle, that runs on roads paid by taxes, Federal and State, that's a benefit. Health care, she get's sick, she goes to emergency room, it's paid for if she has no money, hospital is subsidized for these costs by state and Federal Gov't-which of course means it was paid for by taxes. Next, retirement funds, she can paid into any retirement fund or participate in employer retirement programs, so that's another lie. True that as a non-citizen she can not collect Social Security. Next, she thinks she is a pretty good citizen, another lie, she is NOT a citizen of the US. She is still illegally here, but reprieve from deportation by DACA. No hate, no ignorance, just facts.
