Jillian, we all have this in common. We love to acquire new paints, even when we have enough to last a lifetime! That's a challenge with tutorials. I immediately have to order whatever the teacher used. Your video calmed my soul!
Lol I recognise your Daiso clear containers as I have bought a few too. And I’ve also spent time shopping at Sekaido in Tokyo. Lastly, what a hack with the dish rack. My ceramic palettes are piled precariously and now I know a safer way to store them. You know, the most effective way to end the buying sprees is to move house. Once you start packing your things, you’ll hate yourself for hoarding so many things and swear never to buy again. Yes, it worked for me for *ahem* two years.
Those daiso containers are the best! Affordable way of keeping the space organised. Sekaido is such an amazing heaven for artists! First time I went I remembered the level of adrenaline was off the charts. This round with 3 kids... I sneaked out 2 times when they napped. Hahaha moving house I don't want to see all the things I got 😅 gd tip tho!
Yes!! U should! And do a video of it! It took me a long time to edit this one though, alot more scenes to pull together ❤️ thanks for being here Lydia!!
You aren't alone! And also thankful that you can relate and I don't feel alone too. Haha I do that too! When I swatched my paints I realised I am attracted to the same colors and end up buying them. Having them swatched really helps! I will be uploading my swatch card process soon!
Looks so pretty. Where did you get your cabinet with the glass doors? I find organizing my art room to be challenging. Thank you for sharing and being here for us. 😃
This cabinet with the glass doors is such a precious gem. It's actually a refurbished vintage piece which I painted in white and changed the knobs. I managed to source it from an old furniture store in Malaysia! I love the pencil pegged legs of this cabinet!
I don't feel so badly, now. I OD'd on watercolor paints, brushes, paper AND mixed media - Derwent Ink Products, Gouache, watercolor pencils, water based pastels, water based crayons, gel sticks, brush pens, blah blah blah. Definitely a sickness. I AM fairly organized, however, in my own way. Kids SO cute!
I create beadwork jewelry and paint with pastels. Talk about a hoard! I have almost 3 decades worth of clutter from just my beads. I decluttered a few things while listening to the video, but it is just the tip of the iceberg.
Haha it isnt! And when u think its a good idea to start - mid way you go "why did i even!!" But the result is worth it. Now its maintaining it hahaha...Yes!! I used to have them in zip loc bags too because it's easy to move them from drawer to drawer then my husband took over our drawer and I realised I wanted something stackable so the boxes came to be. Thanks for sharing the zip loc bags!

Lovely video to watch this morning. and OK wow you do have a lot of supplies! It's very satisfying watching you stack those plastic boxes. Very ASMR!

Love how you organized your supplies Jillian, and your babies are so precious!🥰
So watercolor is number 2 (kids number 1) and then I lovee organisational stuff!! 😄 🤣 my husband told me I used to be in constant nesting stage. 😆

1:56 : most relatable phrase ever 🤣
😆 😂
So glad I am not the only paint hoarder! I really need to do this. I am guilty of purchasing colours that I find I already own when I get home.
You aren't alone! And also thankful that you can relate and I don't feel alone too. Haha I do that too! When I swatched my paints I realised I am attracted to the same colors and end up buying them. Having them swatched really helps! I will be uploading my swatch card process soon!
Well you have inspired me to set up an organized dedicated area for painting and my supplies. I have been thinking about it for awhile.

I taught watercolor using fountain pen ink at the Arkansas Pen Show. And it IS very different-but fun.
I have a blue crane, too.
I tried Windsor and Newton drawing ink on paper. It stains instantly but the way it feathers is like no other with water. Its so beautiful!

Decluttering . . . it's not easy! I use big Zip-loc bags and separate by brand.
