❤Drake Thank you for the "work along" Pomo this morning. It's nice when the laundry and the dishwasher are running in that first session. My decluttering challenge are all the letters and photos my mom left. I didn't go to China with her, and I have no idea who these people are or where she went, and there are hundreds of them and I have no idea how to get rid of them without major guilt.
This is exactly what I did last year. My motto was Clutter free in 2023! I took a spiral notebook and did one page for each room. I made a detailed list of everything that needed to be done. In each room, I worked clockwise around the room, top to bottom on each wall. I’m still working at it. I’ve been in my house for 30+ years and have been doing home daycare for 16! Lots of stuff! New motto for this year- Less is more in 2024!
Cambriea introduced me to the phrase "Shop your house". And that was a long time ago - I've been a fan for years! It is a really sensible suggestion. I often find that what I think I want to buy or need to buy is already in my home. It may take a little re-thinking, but is a truly great way to recycle and reorganise without spending any money.
Hi Cambriea, I'm so thankful for this video today. My bedroom is horrible and cluttered. It has become a dumping ground, and you're so right about overwhelm, and that's where I am at, so Friday is the day I just start. Being a limited mobility widow raising my 3 grandsons isn't easy. We have been sighing covid, rsv for a few months now, and as you know, just being mom with kids and fur babies, you're busy. Then all the other things that life throws at you can be a real challenge.😢 anyway thank you so much for the tips today and I'm putting them to good use. ❤. It can feel SO overwhelming but once you get started, it makes you want to do more. I deal with severe fatigue... Been doing a bag at a time. Plus, I am limited with how much my trash can can accommodate. Universe keeping me in line.
Started a few days ago, just going through my apartment 😊. Throwing unused things into a big bag, and donating it to a local charity shop❤. And throwing out things that are broken and torn etc 😊. Love this video!! Hug from chilly cold norway
Your taxable donations plus medical expenses etc. percentage must exceed the standard deduction to use that benefit and for most that is hard to do. I think your Goodwill etc.donation limit is $500 but my info is old and my knowledge only comes from having taxes filled out for 55 years. Always dread getting my stuff together!
Excellent job explaining very clearly how & what to declutter!! I wish I had some help doing my apartment. Hopefully, my hubby will find some motivation soon to help me. Its really hard for me with my mobility and pain. Sometimes, its just so overwhelming I want to hide my head under the blanket, curl up in a ball and cry. At this point I'm ready to get rid of so much just to have a more minimal life and make things easier. I've never been a minimalist - more of a maximist!! LOL But now I'm just not capable of cleaning every day. With Fibro nothing is every easy. Every day I just have pain. So now I have to change everything in my life. So hard. Writing off on taxes has become almost impossible. The amount of deductions such as donations must exceed your given amount of deductions that the IRS allows. So unless your donations exceed $25,000 it is not necessary to itemize these donations as they don’t exceed the amount prescribed by the IRS. It’s a wasted effort to think about tax deductions any more. 😮😢❤
I really needed this video to help get me started with my decluttering journey for this year!! We moved into our house going on 6 years and after we moved in we realized that we have way too much stuff. I'm tired of moving the clutter around to just clean. Like they say, "You can't clean clutter." I have made it my goal for this year to really declutter our house. There might be a possibility that we may be moving in the near future and I seriously don't want to be in the same position we were the last time in that we have hundreds of boxes and don't need half of it and then being so overwhelmed when it comes to unboxing it all. I really like the idea of writing down all the rooms in the house and work on each one. I don't know why it didn't click until now. I was constantly trying to do all the rooms here and there knowing I wasn't getting anywhere. I need to do before and after of each room so I can look back at the progress I've made. Thanks for all the great content!!

I have 'semi' de-cluttered our home but there are a few areas which could use some more attention..ie: the linen closet from... !! { LOL } Armed with your excellent advice, I am going to get to it this week. Thank you for you. You have become such a ray of sunshine in my life. Also, how lovely you are considering having Bobby's grandma move into your home. We can learn so much from the elderly and what a wonderful experience for all of you. You must have a lot of respect and love for each other or else you wouldn't even be considering this move. An idea that helps me when decluttering is going through seasonal things out of season. As I was watching your video I went through fall totes and was able to let go of two complete full totes of stuff and one is completely empty, I looked through this stuff right before fall and couldn't let it go. It was so much easier today! Christmas decor is next....the harder one for me. But yes we tend to collect so much stuff over the years and it just accumulates to the point of it's overwhelming and then you just don't don't even want to look at it. Thank you for the motivation!

I put things in a box and multiple boxes of stuff I don't use. If it is not used in 6 months to a year, I donate or sell. When I buy clothing or buy items...if I don't wear ot use it in a month, I take it back depending on the season and item.
Ahh, you got me! I pulled things out of my closet during Christmas break. Now it's spring break, and I'm going through all that stuff that I hadn't been able to take over over Christmas. So sorry for losing Drake-he seemed like such a sweet boy. Thankfully he was able to just sleep away. 😢I’m very good at finding deals and collecting “treasures “. One day I asked my husband what would he do with all my stuff if something happened to me and he made that “chucking it out the door” motion. I was horrified so I decided to do the purge myself. Our church rummage sale got the bulk of it so I felt good and had no regrets.

This video inspires me to clean and declutter tons of things in my garage! I'm one of those people who declutter in my house but put those things in my garage because I keep telling myself I will have a yard sale 😭😅 I am definitely going to tackle my garage soon! I just decluttered my bathroom closet. I got a bag of trash and a box to give away. Feels a lot lighter when I open up the closet. You are to blame...lol!!

Only when filming. If it’s too dark the footage is grainy so I turn them on in the rooms I’m working in but they get turned off the second I’m done

I just decluttered my bathroom closet. I got a bag of trash and a box to give away. Feels a lot lighter when I open up the closet. You are to blame...lol!!

I laughed when you changed out the baskets in the open hall closet. We are very similar and when you did the clear containers I said…nope, that’s going to drive her crazy because she hates visual clutter!!!
