You opted to put the newly purchased industrial complex in french indo China or hong kong. This is not allowed because ic's have to build on territories you own at the beginning of your turn. So kiangsu is the best option to place it.
29:08 those soldiers had already been move to attack. I would advice to always use some kind of chip or token to put in each territory you are having an attack, to avoid this mistake.
My fav would be UK because they are on both sides of the board and there are so many options. Least would be Italy because they are so limited in what they can do. US is fun to play for the same reason as UK. France doesn't really count because they suck balls in G40.
when I play Italy i always have huge dreams of taking over the whole Mediterranean but its always so hard but sometimes it happens it feels so rewarding.
I think it odd that people on every channel knock Italy. As the Axis player, I take central France and eliminate the British home fleet on the 1st German turn. This gives UK enough to worry about at home, and if the Med fleet can't eliminate the Italians on 1st UK turn then they are boned because they won't be getting any reinforcement. As Italy, I conquer Yugoslavia, Greece, and Syria in quick succession, along with Gibraltar, which combined with German conquest of southern France, gives Italy 5 bonus for 3 corners of the Med, 5 bonus for sweeping Allied ships from the Med, and 6 bonus for walking into Iraq and Persia. You only have to move a single infantry into British Somaliland on T1 to screw the UK out of a 5 bonus, the 3 French territories in central Africa are easy pickings after Egypt falls, and by now Italy has 30+ IPC and 16 bonus, which goes up to 21 bonus after French north Africa falls. I usually have no problem taking all of Africa and the Middle East by T6-T8, then on to Brazil and then it's either option A: mutual destruction with the US fleet to open the door for Germany, or option B: invade America after Germany does the murder/suicide battle.
I was that allied player that let Rome be rebuilt, Italy was over $40 by turn 5, I hadn't suffered any defeats beyond the game set up, I just didn't sink much Italian shipping turn one and Germany was sending large air force to Egypt and I did retreat from the Mediterranean, this was my first game of global, only actual one, we played 6 or 7 turns, he was going to have to "Reload" for a Russian victory as I made a huge pile he couldn't beat yet, I think the big Italian income was going to be the end of allied landings in France turn 5&6.
You’ve only got a 37.5% percent chance of winning Phi with your current force. The infantry you sent to Kweichow can’t make it there because you had already moved them from Sha to Anh. FYI
General. First discussion of America not being pulled into war if UK is attacked was correct but second mention seemed too definitive the other way. Just to be strait, JP attack on UK or ANZAC gives US an excuse to declare war on their next Turn......if they want to.....but they dont have to. Tef
Mr Handgrenade, I dig your video, thanks for posting! I have to ask though, why are you bothered by the idea of Japan invading the Soviet Union? You cited history, but isnt the fun of playing AA 1940 the chance to change history?
Sorry for coming into this late, but I am of the strong opinion that Japan should hold off attacking the USSR unless 1) the USSR puts their entire (or nearly entire) stack of Far East infantry just north of Manchuria. If the Russians do that, they are asking to be reamed by Japan because once those infantry are gone, the Soviet Union has no way to defend or even stop Japan (the Mongolian inf are at best speed bumps). In this case the Russians are asking for it. 2) You have successfully taken out the UK Far East (aka India) and/or Australia, in which case you can concentrate your forces and take the heat off your ally Germany. Otherwise, you open up an entirely new front that you have to defend, in some cases add nine more enemy infantry to defend China (from Mongolia), and otherwise spread yourself too thin. The one big error I see with a lot of Japan players is spreading themselves too thin by trying to do too much.
Nice vid again! The Japanse infantry cannot reach into keichow. You moved them from shantung into anhwe. And then from anhwe into keichow so they moved 2 spaces which is not allowed.
Great video. I have a few questions. Mick B Great video. Thank you. I have a few questions. 1. If Japan invades French Indo-China will that bring the allies into the war? 2. What if UK and or ANZAC declare war on Japan, in rounds 1 or 2, would that subsequently bring America into the war? 3. Can America ‘liberate’ the Dutch territories? Say UK takes Celebes but looses it to Japan. If America captures it, does Celebes revert back to UK control or is it now an American territory?
General, I know this was made a while ago, but a few rules were broken in this video. I am not criticizing, just letting you know so you can get better 😉
Hi. Can you conduct convoy operations against powers that you are NOT at war with? If you do a convoy attack against the UK Pacific for example, it seems that would not trigger war with the UK or others. Is this a correct interpretation ? In WW2, convoys were attacked before their countries were at war. Also, convoy calculations are made in collect income phase, not the combat phase. Thanks very much. Steve
General I'm a new player and I have a question. Can I stop a Transport with full load on a SZ and not move it for the next turn. And after that, at the other turn move it again?
Yes you can. You can leave your units on the transport as long as you want. The problem is that if the transport is sunk then the troops go down with him.
GeneralHandGrenade and indeed you did and lighting was super in all like this one. maybe you can be first to do a vid showing us your lighting setup so we can copy.

How do you get all of the awesome stands for the planes? Im a monk at a monastery and am getting killed by the Allies, the superior is a Chess fantatic. I don't know what to do with Japan, and could really use some help with Global. I don't know if I should attack with Japan on the first round, or wait until my infantry are in a better position for the United Kindgom (East). IN Germany, I followed your advice, I didn't take out his transport, because he scrambled against my two subs and killed them both. I really need help, is there anyway, you would be willing to help me walk through this? What should my non combat moves be with Japan for round 1? Attack the Chinese on my way to Hunan? Move ships down to the money islands to where they are quickly able to be taken in round 2? Again, I could use your help, I am 0-2 against the Superior of the Benedictine Community i'm in. My J1 just went after China and built two factories and took east Siberia and the region next to it. I think im going to set up to take all China and begin an India assault 3rd round. I wish I had your advice and some of those pieces, it’s hard to get help as a monk.
@@primroselane1 I have a few more questions, especially since we play on Sunday. The British did complete the Raid east of Italy, instead he sent his cruiser and destroyer and planes to take out my transport and destrouee in Malta. In the process he lost a cruiser, the rest of the Italian navy is intact. He moved everything to Gibraltar and landed a tank and a man on Northern Africa. What should I do? Destroy the French Fleet? Take on Malta? Take Southern France? I still planned on taking Greece and Yugoslavia. I really need some tactical advice. I didn’t J1 either, but followed your Germany plan. Lost a lot taking France, and took two territories in Russia.

I'm the wrong person to ask that question because I don't own any of those games Ian. Sorry about that. There is a Global War site that has forums maybe you could pose that question to the people on there.
What you need for Global 1939 is the supplemental set from HBG. I need it as well. Been on a waiting list for some time now so..... It seems that HBG is focusing on 1936. Maybe you need to go with the second option.
Thanks for watching! Sorry I don't know any players in Victoria. I'm heading to Nanaimo tomorrow for a wedding what a shame that I don't have time to pop in for a game on my way through the area.
Nice video i am a litle bit amazed that peope at forst thought iT was wise to do nothing as Japan, since in most axis and allies game it’s better to attack everything as early as possible as axis and also allies
Hendrik Janssen same it took my brothers, my dad, and myself a full 20seconds to realize that Japan’s best attack turn was their first. Japan has the numbers the allies have the economy, economy beats numbers if you leave it in tact
@@albusvoltavern4500 I actually think Japan's best attack turn is their third. The problem is the US. As long as you keep the US out of the war, you cripple the allies' biggest nation, and you can do a LOT in the first three turns as Japan without declaring war on anyone. You can even get the USA to pay you for the first three turns.
ian Chapman another problem is Europe, I’ve had games where the us ignores the pacific, and no matter how much they take it’s never enough to beat the American economy.
@@albusvoltavern4500 Agreed and that's because Asia is fairly small potatoes economically. It's too big and the territories aren't worth enough to allow Japan to get the force concentrations needed to force the US to do more than swat Japan away as an annoying shoe-fly. I find that if the US maintains a strong Naval and Land Presence in Hawaii, Japan is pretty much stymied.
If I use a J1 strategy, should I go ahead and place my minor industrial complex on Shanghai or wait and place it on Hong Kong? My last game I waited and I lost. What do you think?
The last few games that I played I bought 3 transports on the first turn and then built a naval base on the island of Hainan on turn 2. It made my forces more mobile but you still need to build a complex eventually. Shanghai isn't such a bad place either because the Russians can attack from the north and if your complexes are down south then it will be more difficult to squash them. Really though there is no right way or wrong way to do it.
J1 , in my humble opinion, leaves Japan dangerously spread out. As the allies player on that side of the board I tend to start sinking the Japanese fleet earlier. By the time the US shows up the Japanese fleet is already smaller. Easy pickings then. When playing Japan, I also only attack the $ islands on my way back to defend Japan with a full navy plus additions. My Japanese navy is quite often double the size of the US fleet. The US navy then becomes the prey. Factories bought on the first two turns take care of China and later the UK. When the US navy is gone I move south once again but never out of range of Tokyo. I ignore the ANZAC unless they get too close for their own good. If they do....squish. Same for the UK Pac. fleet if there is one. Anyway great videos!
Actually... the Jem'Hadar, the founders and the Vorta (all part of the Dominion) are species from the GAMMA quadrant and can travel to the Alpha quadrant through the wormhole aka 'The Celestial Temple'.
Was planning to buy the 1936-1946 global from Historicalboard gaming for 160 euros but you dont get any units so uhh ye i dont have any units so that sucks
Yes you can do that. The problem is that Hawaii is only worth 1 IPC while the Money Islands are worth 20 and mainland Asia is worth much more than 1 IPC. If you go chasing off for that 1 IPC you take away valuable resources away from the other objectives. There is a move where you can hit the ships in Hawaii and retreat back to Japan without giving up much of your resources. There are so many options for the Japanese and so many consequences to their moves that you have to experiment to find something that works. A lot of what you do dictates the direction of the US resources so good coordination with Germany to decide which ocean you want the American ships to be built in is important. If Germany is going for a G3 Sealion attack then it's in Japan's best interests to hold off declaring war on the western allies until after that to prevent the Americans from being able to defend London just to name one example.
raul duke There's good strategy where Italy and Germany stack a fleet in gibraltar and feign sea lion, but instead move a fleet carrying group troops through the panama canal with an italian can opener. At the same time takes the Islands off Alaska and eventually Hawaii to deny 2 American NO's (Taking Panama denies another for a total of 3) At this point the US player will be so bottled up he will be basically unable to stop the German/Japanese fleet from landing in Australia (one turn to queens land from Hawaii) and wiping out Anzac. If India falls too, it's a Pacific victory for the Axis. This might not work on the same player twice, but it's very fun.
This game is Axis and Allies 1940. It's actually 2 games put together. Europe 40 and Pacific 40. They were made to put together. My board is a custom rollout map though and doesn't come with the game.
You made all kinds of mistake. Putting a chip on hunnan and then putting an illegal infantry on it instead of replacing the chip, moving infantry 2 times. I have a different opening move was just checking yours. I hate China when taking out all the allies because China will pump out infantry and it makes you unable to buy much against the USA. And unable to attack Russia. So the indies become very important. Also Japan needs so many factories slurping up their income. Also I don't understand why sealion would be endangered by Japan doing pearl harbor and taking Philippines. I don't do borneo J1. If the USA goes KGF Japan will win the game. I'd like to see a viable USA round 1. One where the USA spends little on Japan. To do pearl harbor I normally send the J fleet to wake and use 3 fighters 3 tac bombers and 1 strategic bomber and block sacrificing a destroyer so the US sub can't submerge. And if he takes in the 2 fighters on Hawaii they die. He can't retaliate. The fleet can move Caroline and join to attack the indies. This game is much about threat instead of actually making a move. Midway is also an option but makes moving indies so lagging. Plus the USA can retaliate if he keeps his 2 fighters on Hawaii. I have never done the Africa core. Always use 3 transports with Germany to rush to leningrad tho no shipyard in Germany sucks if you want to keep pressure on all sides. Those 3 transports make rushing Russia alot faster. But no africa. Also they defend Scandinavia if Russia thinks that is a good route. And there is way too much income for Russia to earn in Finland let alone Norway too. Going Africa gives Russia room to breathe which I dislike. Anyway thanks for making these interesting videos.
I usually do a j2 because you can hit the money islands quicker and several more territories
The Axis Strategy is playing the short game because the longer you wait, the more time the Allies have to build.

RJ. Not if you also attack Pearl on J1 and back away while taking honolulu. Allies are doomed. You never put IJF against superior USN.
My U.S. and British videos are next. I'll show you how I try to deal with them after a J1.
PH puts the fleet out of position. I've built up several IJF and destroyed numerous USN fleets this way. Never been invaded by the US.
Haaaa!!!!! Gemhadar and Changelings are Alpha Quadrant. Borg are, or used ti be in Delta Quadrant. 😜
Glad someone is paying attention. The Founders would be proud.
GeneralHandGrenade 😁
Actually... the Jem'Hadar, the founders and the Vorta (all part of the Dominion) are species from the GAMMA quadrant and can travel to the Alpha quadrant through the wormhole aka 'The Celestial Temple'.
US gets 52 instead 72? What? How?
Anyone every encounter allied players building minor facilities on Philippines and Hawaii t1?
Hawaii yes. Philippines no.
25:37 Can't they attack Hawaii?
Yes.
My 2 favorite nation is japan 1 is germany cuz land supramacy german navy is shit cuz you can build only 2 BB's buut you can build em cruisers
Was planning to buy the 1936-1946 global from Historicalboard gaming for 160 euros but you dont get any units so uhh ye i dont have any units so that sucks
But i would pay 200 euros if id had units that would great :D
Excellent video, shouldn’t Japan attack Hawaii and make. It a major Japanese base? Has anybody tried it?
At the same time takes the Islands off Alaska and eventually Hawaii to deny 2 American NO's (Taking Panama denies another for a total of 3)
At this point the US player will be so bottled up he will be basically unable to stop the German/Japanese fleet from landing in Australia (one turn to queens land from Hawaii) and wiping out Anzac. If India falls too, it's a Pacific victory for the Axis.
This might not work on the same player twice, but it's very fun.
Dude, there is a chinese territory you are attacking with 2 infatry and 2 planes you cant reach on turn 1!
Luis Ayllon he was totally cheating
Nane of this board game , where to buy
This game is Axis and Allies 1940. It's actually 2 games put together. Europe 40 and Pacific 40. They were made to put together. My board is a custom rollout map though and doesn't come with the game.
@@primroselane1 thank you brother , i am a history freak like you 👻
You made all kinds of mistake.
