Conrad, will you be continuing this series of videos to show the resin process? I would love to see that and how you actually make the molds first. Love this so much!!
Hey Conrad, do you think that, once the floral foam pieces are done, you could cast them in aluminium (from soda cans), using a DIY foundry and some sand in a bucket? The same idea that TheKingOfRandom used in his videos.
TheScott10012 yes... and no.I am a big fan of Grant T. and his casting projects... but my experience with "floral" foam is that it doesn't burn off quick enough to work well for the sand casting system he uses. Now... with that said... I do believe you could use regular polystyrene (styrofoam) in my process instead of floral foam ( make your profile cutters out of a harder material) and then cast them as Grant does. I'm wanting to try it myself, so you may see a video posted of me doing so in the near future. we shall see. :-)
Conrad Craft Wow, what a quick reply! I just recently found your channel, and I'm surprised how less popular you are! your video quality and audio is pretty darn good, you make amazing content, keep it up! I have you in my notifications. I might eventually try to do this if I ever get a lathe...
TheScott10012 thank you so much! just FYI... you may not need to wait until you get a lathe... after this series of design videos is complete, I'll be showing how to make the chess set in foam using a modified power drill as a diy lathe. Then we will mould and cast those puppies. Those videos should start at the end of this month... so thanks for the subscription and stay tuned!
Rodrigo Dias you are my entire chanel's first "FIRST" commenter! Congratulations! To celebrate, I am going to make something I've never made before( a "first" ), post a video of it and dedicate it to you my friend... gracias!
