That question ‘why would you put your vision at risk to loose weight?’ Is so ignorant. If you have a restricting eating disorder with or without diabetes weight loss is EVERYTHING. Every person has different motives driven by their mental health profile. But weight loss is such a massive part of it. And it leaves you disabled if it gets bad enough. Like her eyesight. I send all my love to her xx

Thank you for sharing Lynsey, you are incredibly brave. Your story is very familiar, as I have a close family member who suffers from the same illness.
We have a huge problem with investing in proper treatment for this illness. My relative was used by Kings College for research and then dumped on a psychiatric ward when they realised they were ill-equipped to help her. She felt utterly abandoned and is now seriously ill in hospital. We have to check our blind spot when it comes to illnesses which predominately impact women's health. Funding Please! Genuine funding!

Whenever someone says their parent is their best friend it's a sign of a highly dysfunctional family.
Parents are suppose to be parents not friends and people should choose their friends.

Lyndsey is so brave for sharing her story! What an amazing video! However I can't help but think they needed a more professional interviewer. He did not have a compassionate approach for an eating disorder and complex medical topic. Every time he asked questions like "Really" or"‘why would you put your vision at risk to loose weight?" was so inconsiderate. He clearly did not have experience working within this area and if he did he needs a lot of extra training.

I resonate with Lyndsey’s story so much and I’m proud of her for pushing through this. I’m currently on my path to recovery and hearing others go through similar things motivates me to do better for myself and everyone who I love🤍

Have you tried eating more bacon beef fish and eggs, butter cream lard and tallow?
A plant based diet is nothing but empty calories. We don't need Coke twinkies and captain crunch. Apple juice pasta and potatoes are no better.
Humans can't live on broccoli shakes. If you keep listening to your doctor you can only get worse.
Take it from an electrician. No, not really, just do your homework. You can decide for yourself.

@@rawmilkmike appreciate the feedback. It’s not that I don’t know what to eat or do, it’s finding the motivation to take care of myself as I deal with my mental health.

@@judyochoa2240 - Are you sure? Because food has a profound effect on one's motivation and mental health.
I've seen some very convincing testimonials. Plus I know from personal experience how detrimental a plant based diet can be to one's health.
The average American has been convinced by the processed food industry that fruits and vegetables are healthy. I doubt you'll find two people who agree on exactly what is a healthy diet.
There are a lot of people who have gone low carb and keto to lose weight. And then transition to full carnivore. They say they started the diet for the weight loss but stuck with it for the improvement in mental health. The carnivore Zen they call it.
For our family diet is still a work in progress. But my health is much improved. I'm 67 now and feel better than when I was 40.

@@rawmilkmike I never mentioned a plant based diet… Also I have my own experience with how I react to different foods. Besides food, there are other components of diabetes that affect health

I don't know if you're type one or type 2. But type 2 can be cured with a dietary change. And type one can be dramatically improved. There are some type two's who have gone off insulin within weeks.
I see lots of people talking about the problem but no one coming up with any solutions. Willpower and endless therapy are not solutions.

Very good video! Unfortunately when i adreesed with my parents that I am struggeling with my Diabetes Control (which they knew) they just got and told me there is no other way, that i just HAVE to manage. they just didnt know better, it was 15 years ago and you could Not find all the information on the Internet and there were Not so many specialits aware of the psychological Problems with Diabetes. But i was very lucky and despite of many years of poor control i have ne serious complicantions so far (thank you universe, thank you genetics). It was a long way of therapy and working on my Diabetes managent, finding friends with Diabetes and changing habits and i finally come to terms and Manage to control it my levels well ..

I am certain I have this. I know that I need to take my insulin but the weight gain in just a few days is miserable. And honestly I don’t feel better when my blood sugar is normal. It is all so complicated and I don’t know if I can get past the weight gain to stay on insulin. Sending love and prayers to all of you!!!

Someone needs to tell these people about zero carb. You can't expect someone to choose between obesity and blindness. They need to know that they can cure both diseases with a simple dietary change.
OK it's not always simple but the concept is simple. Just the knowledge that you can eat red meat, fish, eggs, and butter can make all the difference in the world.
They need to know they don't need to consume fruits and vegetables. I'm not talking about willpower. Just knowledge and deprogramming.
OK, I'm not saying you can cure type one diabetes but darn close. The management becomes almost easy.
Type 2 diabetes can be cured very easily with diet. It was your doctor's poor dietary advice which caused your diabetes in the 1st place. Type one, being an auto immune disease, is almost certainly related to the typical useless medication with horrific side-effects.
