A quick tip. We have tried several methods over the years after finding a squirrel family living in our outdoor kitchen in a former trailer. One of the methods we have used is the ultrasonic devices similar to what is featured in the video. We started to notice our dog behaving erratically, full of stress, pacing around, whining etc. Unplugged the anti rodent device and he was fixed. So fellow dog owners might want to be careful with this particular solution. Cheers Unhappily stuck in Ontario, can't go South, can't go East
Thank you for the tips! In one of our older travel trailer, a mother mouse climbed up the electric cord of the rv and gave birth to her babies under the bed. We had mouse traps going off every night...nightmare.
The dryer sheets always seemed to work to keep mice out of the trunk of my elderly cars, but a few years back a mouse made a nest in the dryer sheets. Black pepper has worked for me in the past with ant problems. I try to have no real poisons around as we have 2 and 4 legged pets. I wish you the best Tara with your health and that things get better for you. Stay safe and well.
We’ve been RVing for >30 years and have used the electric plug in gizmos for pest control both on the road and when RV is in storage. Also whenever the levelers go down we sprinkle Comet (big shaker from a $ store) around anything that touches the ground. Haven’t ever had a pest problem anywhere across this great country. 🇺🇸
Foam needs hardware cloth and screwed down… Smelly stuff needs to be replaced often… Motion alert cameras…. This is a list of many things tried and failed . 8-(
Yes this works!!!! I used 000 size steel wool in any cracks around plumbing in laundry room in the house and it solved the mice problem. We have a lot of bare land in the neighborhood.
We use copper wool for the larger gaps going in and ortho home defense spray. Both worked on our home and so far in our first year we haven't had any bugs inside. We also put tomcat mouse bait station under our rv by the tires so the mice will find the food source outside and die so we don't end up with any rodents inside the rv. Our brick and mortar home had a huge mouse and bug problem when we bought it and used a pest company to fix it and understand how to do it ourself. We took those methods and applied them to the rv. You guys are awesome. Since my wife got cancer and we can't tent camp we looked into rv trailers. I came across your UA-cam channel and my wife thought I had been RVing for years when we would talk to the dealer or go out with it. Thank you for being here and sharing. It has made a difference in our lives to confidently go on vacation with our three dogs and enjoy life again.
Rats and mice can definitely chew through Great stuff, expanding foam...use steel wool and peppermint, mint oils sprayed on your tires, your engine bay and then soak cotton balls and place those around the camper for mice and spiders both. The diatamacious earth kills every crawling bug. Even those huge flying roaches like in Florida, true.
Thanks for tips! I'll be adding some rope lights and sealing the cracks soon. For now we use moth balls in the basement and bug home defense spray whenever we're in storage around the jacks and wheels.
Awesome video, like always!! We use a combination of things that have worked well for us. We never leave any food of any kinda in the TT when not in use. Also, I’m a clean freak. Sealing the gaps is a big deterrent for the critters. Our TT is parked in what use to be a field of whatever crop was planted that year, this is our 4th year parking there. Knock on wood no critters have use our TT as a home. 🤞🏻it stays that way.
On a lot of older RV's the power cord was hard wired in and you just pulled one end out of a hole, and plugged it it. Anything walking on the wire, walks right it. Install a bulkhead type setup, so you are plugging in at both ends and its a sealed system. Those pot scrubber, stainless steel things.... if you stick part of one in the big gaps, before the spray foam, they can't eat their way through it. Stay safe!
We're new subscribers and old Motorhomers now looking at buying a travel trailer or fifth wheel. We've been binge watching ya'all's videos and wanted to let you know how much we have enjoyed them. Y'all are clearly a great team and it shows in every video. We love watching them for not just the content but also the sheer charm y'all exude and the fun conveyed. Keep 'em coming.
Theres a video on youtube of a guy who did an experiment with the top choices. It literally show the mice eating the Irish Spring. The peppermint worked to keep the mice away from the bait.
I'm Full timer and just have used the Pest Repellant have 2 in my house and it's 39' 5th wheel going on 3 years now still no mice I do have a few spiders but not many. They do work great
I can't say I'm a fan of lights under the rig, but I'm not everyone. That may change when I get on the road in a few months, we'll see. One of the things that I think helps full timers is the fact that you move quite a bit. It takes animals a while to get used to something new and by the time they're getting comfortable with your rig being there it moves. I have had luck with dryer sheets. I've put them on my bike over the winter and in a car I had stored for 22 months. Never a mouse anywhere and I live in the country and get them in my house even though I have a cat. No problem with the shorter videos, there's probably a 30 to 1 ratio for recording and editing time for every minute of video time. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
Thank you guys for all the wonderful videos. I’m a new-used motor home owner and I have used so many of your videos to be a DYI on my RV. Tom you explain so many details I don’t feel insecure about tackling the different maintenance jobs I have done. Thank you again, take care and God Bless you and our beautiful USA.... Have a Happy Holidays!!!!
Downy dryer sheets is all we've ever used for mice. I put them everywhere.... around pipes, in cabinets, tucked in the head of the bed. Have never had a mouse. Plus it makes it smell great.
"Raid MAX bug barrier" is pretty good to use on the outside. I sprayed all exterior windows/doorframes and storage doors/bottom holes/roof entrance areas and have had zero issues. Doesn't eat paint or rubber. Will last a few months even with weather. Id re-apply if you power wash the RV but other than that its pretty cheap and easy to apply.
The plug in repellent actually works in a house, at leased for us. We used to have an ant and spider problem but after having these plugged in we rarely have any ants or spiders! They work as long as you plug them in each room/area.
Y'all have one of the best RV channels out there for practical information with out the drama and I appreciate that. I know that it takes a lot to film and edit your videos, so thanks for being so informative, and so consistent in your content!
We Both Love you Two and I personally TY as your Videos are a Real Treat for My Wife as She is seriously 😷 (Lupus) and Doesn’t Have Much Time and with your Videos Making Her Smile is Something That I just Can’t TY enough! God Bless you Both
An idea to enhance the foam filling the holes and gaps. Stuff some steel wool in the gap first. Then spray the foam in. I’ve heard rodents can chew through the foam without the steel wool. Love your videos!!!
Rodents can eat through the foam, but it helps for sure. One thing you can also do is pour foam then while it's wet,add steel wool pad, then cover it with foam. Mice will not chew through steel wool.
I use steel wool in all my openings. Works great. I don't suggest putting steel wool where the water hose comes in. It will get wet and rust, then you have a problem getting the steel wool out. Never even thought about that when I put it in the opening. Because the hole is lined with aluminum, it definitely stuck. LOL. Great advice, have a happy Labor Day.
Thank you for the video, we’ve been watching several of your other videos. All the things you mention we are trying and still it’s a constant battle, daily!! We did lights, the sonar thingy, Spread two types of deterrent, sealed, and mint spray. But these rodents up in the mountains of Az do not care. it’s become my life’s work, (after they’ve chewed through my wires.) Thanks for the great content. We will keep trying.
I had mice get in my class C and eat the wiring harness up in the engine. I found on Amazon Grandpa Gus Mouse Repellent and so far it has worked. I guess I will find out this winter how well it works but so far so good. Enjoy your videos thanks for producing them.
I thought this was youtube voodoo. Googled how to get rid of a mouse. I had just gone to TSC and bought mouse traps for my RV. When I got home from that trip your news letter was in my inbox. Now today, the very next morning,, there is a video In my notifications . Would love a video with all my favorite UA-cam couples together!.
I have used Irish Spring and it did not work. The mice to eat that stuff. I have used peppermint oil in a diffuser and that helps and it smells nice. I have also just purchased some of the rodent repellant stuff you showed. We live out in the country so you get field mice all the time. It sucks, but you have to stay on top of it all the time.
Just bought the Stay Away Spiders from your link... and I honestly hope you get some sort of $$ out of it!!! NO ONE ever discusses pests on the road, and it was one of the biggest FULL STOP inhibitors for me for camper life. IF this works, I'll owe you SO MUCH!!!! (-S from BS 'n BBQ)
We had mice one year then the next year we did essential peppermint oil on cotton pads all around the camper and it worked no more mice. It smelled good and it kept them away. We also did one of the electronic rodent deterrents but the battery ran out on that and the peppermint kept them away.
To stop rodents from entering, you first need to deny them access to anything that gets them up to the chassis. They will climb tires, and jacks to get up. I have had good luck with mothballs on top of tires and around the base of the jacks, but they will climb right over mothballs if they are in the way. It is the smell that keeps them away. My house gets mice all the time due to being out in farmland, and I am constantly chasing little openings. One day I watched one of the little buggers walking the foundation, and leaped over the mothball bag. If the mothballs are surrounding the pads, and on top of tires, the aroma will keep them from going up the tires, and they don't like to stand on them. If they can leap over them, they will. Placing them inside will do nothing though, once inside, only traps will take care of them. Seal all openings, larger ones with steel or brass wool, then foam. They will chew through foam, but not steel wool. Irish Spring and dryer sheets are great for keeping the trailer smelling good, but wont deter mice. When I put the trailer in storage I make sure there is no way for them to get up, so never had a pest problem. One year after taking it out of storage and getting it all set up for traveling, one got in. The trailer had the power cord inside so you pulled it out to plug in, and well, the cord was on the ground, and the little bugger climbed it and got in through the outlet cover. Always remove bedding, clothing or anything they can use to nest with and remove all foodstuffs. If they can't smell it, they won't go near it.
I picked up a can of great stuff at Wally World during a grocery run many years ago. When we took the bags out of the trunk the Great Stuff must have rolled out of the grocery bag and it got forgotten. I live in Florida. In the summer it gets hot. It was about 105 degrees one day and the car was parked in the full sun at work. This car was just bought new recently (only 6 months old, less than 7000 miles on it). The Stuff exploded with such force that it sounded like a bomb going off. It blew a 1 foot diameter hole through the back seat and coated every square inch of the interior with Stuff which quickly hardened in the hot sun. It was driven immediately to a car detail shop but they could not get any of it off. It was on all the windows (including the front and back windshield) so much you could barely see out of them. It was on every inch of fabric from the seats to the floor to the carpet. The entire dashboard was covered. The insurance company said the car was totaled. I then had to buy my own car from the insurance company for like $650. On the outside it looked brand new and ran like new. The inside was crazy trashed. Someone was willing to buy it for about $3000 (it was a brand new $18000 car after all) which was enough to cover the gap in coverage.
Shorter and to the point videos are not a bad thing. Especially if it makes it easier for you guys to manage. I use Irish spring soap and some moth balls her at home in my garage. Seems to have stopped my problem with mice, but who knows for sure. Knock on wood, we haven’t had any infestation problems in our trailer. Thanks
Chad and Tara short videos are not only good for you 12 to 15 minutes long they're also good for us Folks that love to watch you guys. Often times you don't have the time for long videos and neither do we keep on coming love watching you guys.
We aren't full timers and keep our trailer in a storage barn. we have sticky traps in each corner to get pest before they get to trailer. We get lots of crickets a few mice and once a small snake. The worst invasion was in a campground and had a ladybug invasion. It took months to get them all.
We just bought a travel trailer but have yet to stay in it. Well this weekend we are heading down with the previous owner for the weekend to learn about it and bring it to our farm. I watched this video some time back and liked what you guys do to keep the critters out. I just purchased some of the stay away in hopes it does the trick. The trailer wont be used much till next spring and being stored on a farm there's lots of critters that would like to make it home. Thank you guys for doing this video. Wish us luck!!!
Good advice as always. Your time & effort for creating videos is much appreciated. I've adopted a couple of your suggestions for my house. As an aside, rodents are food to snakes. A snake in search of food might follow the rodent in.
Great tips for pest control. Must try some of those! We recently boonedocked in the Daniel Boone National Forest for five nights. On the second day, I started noticing little mouse droppings. We made a run to the nearest country store and all we could find was a pack of sticky traps. The next morning we caught three little field mice and thank goodness no more evidence for the remainder of the trip.
Steel wool stuffed in the gaps will keep the mice away, too. They can't chew through it. Just replace it when it gets rusty. FYI: Diatomaceous Earth is a main ingredient in... DYNAMITE! [Boom!] ;)
So excited to see your surprises...thank you Tara for showing us Daisy...we all love her...you take care of yourself, and you both be safe...love Peggy 💗 ♥ 💓
Some really great ideas, I like the blue light underglow, that will help with the darkness on the back side of the trailer where we have no lights at all, and if the bonus is keeping away mice, so-be-it.
Yes, those little electric plug ins for bugs works pretty darn well, the only cricket ,ant, spiders I have found in the house or garage are already dead .
Thanks for the great video as always! Thankfully we haven’t had pest problems with our current rig but my biggest tip is keep hoses and lines off the ground as much as possible (they’re a perfect highway for ants)! I use a couple bungee cords to coil and hang the power cable and water hose (usually from the slide-out) so they can’t even touch the ground! I tried the Irish Spring soap... it made the interior and basement smell nice and fresh... until our stupid dog decided to eat it! She only got mildly sick but doesn’t seem to be any dumber than before!🤦🏻♂️
Great video never thought about that but I use coffee grounds and nothing wants to come near it. Many none of the critters drink coffee. But will use the lights didn’t think they would work. Thanks.
I have a Primetime Spartan fifth wheel toy hauler. They sealed it up pretty good but I did get a mouse, from a campground. We left the patio open and I believe it got in that way. I also use the electronic Mouse blocker and it seems to work pretty good. Also every time I take my trailer out I spray a pesticide , around the outer edge underneath and that seems to work pretty well.
Great videos! Very helpful tips. Filling holes, spraying, lighting, and diatomaceous earth are all very important ways to keep the pests away! Thank you for sharing these tips!!!
We have been fortunate in the rodent area so far, but I believe in getting ahead and being prepared. I will try the spray filler product for sure. Thanks for the video. Good luck with the upgrades!
Thank you for videos! I cut up Irish Spring and put on the batteries of my golf cart and in my 5th wheel and keeps rats out. I used cotton balls soaked in peppermint under the hood of my truck, but didn’t keep rats out. I’m now using cut up Irish Spring but have to take out when I drive it since I haven’t figured out how to attach it.. It’s working so far. I live in a rural area and use truck and trailer about 8 out of 12 months so when I don’t use truck much during off time, rodents have plenty of time to set up house.
The rodents in our DP LOVED the Irish Springs soap! I found not just food, crumbs and dog food bring in the rodents, but they would get into the Kleenex, paper towels, paper napkins and toilet paper to make nests. After I took ALL of that out they started pulling the fibers out of the dish towels to make their nest! They have never gotten in the bath towels (yet). We just put in some cotton balls with peppermint oil but I figure they will use those to make nests, too!
I switched google accounts not knowing it changes youtube accounts. Long story short, just re-subscribed again with a different account. lol. But what I really came to say was WOW your editing, video recording, story telling, etc. has improved soooo much!! Here's what all the young youtube content creators say - it's a marathon not a sprint. JUST KEEP GOING!!
10 years, fresh cab, zero mice. We have a coroplast under belly and have not re-sealed anything. Would recommend fresh cab and Tom Cat which is a poison bait which I also put down.
Great info 👍🏻 . Lovely to see you congregating with other creators in Evansville. Looking forward to the upgrades whenever they come out. You’re awesome!
I'm a transplant from Oh. We live in Fl full time, now going on 30 yrs. Truly, not a joke, palmetto bugs are not like the dirty roaches that live more North and eat you out of house and home. Yes, ours are big, and pretty much harmless. Once in a while one will sneak in around a threshold of an entry door, you kill that one and that's it. Remember too, many homes like ours have been made hurricane resistant and are tightly sealed everywhere which really blocks out any pests.
Good video. Also, good to hear you plan to work less. Hope it works out for you and praying Tara gets her health issues under control. Looking forward to seeing the upgrades. Stay safe guys.
My husband and I love watching your channel, we are what you might call silent fans. Anyway after hearing your segment on pest control we decided to comment on our experience. We ended up with Bedbugs and a few mice in our condo. I thought bedbugs were a childhood saying (Good night, don't let the bedbugs bite) I didn't know they were real. Anyway the husband bought a few home from his job and they attacked me nightly. Talk about the worse things ever to try to get rid of. Long story short, we have a dog and cat and we had to be careful on how we killed these pest. Amazingly the Electric Plug-ins did the job. Alone with putting steel wool in the mice's point of entry. Bedbugs I read can live over a year without eating, so that is just how long I left it plugged in to an electric cord on the floor next to my bed. After a week I noticed I wasn't being attacked anymore and about a year later I'm still good. We need to change them out again though. The little lights inside of them are starting to dim. But the statement as to whether the Electronic plug-ins work or not, our answer is YES we think they work great. Just make sure to take care of the issue as soon as possible. Thanks for the Pest Control information, Michelle and Jim.
A coincidence that this just posted! We’re heading south in the fall, have sold our home and need to find where to go in retirement. I was just searching for pest control for the RV, since I remember the Carolina palmetto bugs and Georgia’s red ants... No snow season means more bugs!I
We have used Irish spring soap in the rooms in our house during the winter when we are away. It has worked for the past 2 years. No pests or bugs. Key is to keep it clean.
Thanks for the information - have known for a while - so better act soon. Daisy looks to be a star. If you are just too busy to make a voice over video, we'll take a video of her antics. :) Our experience is to just not feed the critters. Except ants look everywhere. Suspect regular preventive spray is the winner on that pest. I like your big jug. Keeping the smashed bugs off the rig helps too.
Thank you for the advice! I tried the ultrasonic repellants and they have not worked in my current RV. I’m actually trading in my 42ft 5er for a smaller footprint (since it’s just me now) and I’ll be trying peppermint oil and foam in the openings in my new RV.. 🙏🏾
Well done! Excellent recommendations. No problem on the shorter videos. It’s a huge job pumping them out. Don’t want to burn y’all out! Hello from northeastTennessee!
Like you said about the ultra sonic plug ins. Our stick and bricks is backed up to a huge field that they shred about 1-2 times a year and our neighbors always has mice but we havent even seen 1 in the whole 8 years living here. All we use is the unltasonic plug in items and spread them around the house.
I have used Fresh Cab from Tractor Supply for a while now in the camper, a boat and an antique truck and it's always worked well, but it's expensive. I looked into the ingredients and found I could make my own for pennies. Ground walnut shells from Amazon and Balsam Pine essential oil also from Amazon and small burlap trinket bags again from Amazon. I mix up a bunch and keep it in an airtight container. The walnut shells go into the trinket bags and they go into the places the mice love. I also use the sonic mouse repelers. So far they've worked very well in all three places.
I found out that if you sprinkle coffee grounds on the area and in the cabinets the pest don’t like it, I know that sounds like a mess but I put it in the back of the cabinet and cleaned it out once a month anyway to keep it clean. I’ll try the lights.
Guys Thank you so much for all the info. My husband and i are planning on getting a 5th wheel. Oh wow I follow Tom and his wife as well .you 4 guys are my favorite and I get most if my info from the 4 of you. I love how you guys are a little OCD...LIKE ME. meaning you just like everything done right and in its proper place. It make life easy to just stay on point. Take care guys when we get on the road hope to run into you and say 👋 hi.
Great comments here!... Believe it or not I've changed out the mud flaps on my coach which tend to touch the ground after the air comes out of the suspension... Somehow the new rubber has deterred the little bastards from coming in and making a home of our rig... So far so good!...
I am glad the shorter videos will allow you to take care of yourselves. I really appreciate your in-depth advice though, too. Maybe you could create a video series to cover some of the more complicated topics, although you have covered quite a bit.
What about spiders coming through the ACs and vents on top of the RV ? Please need some advice. I have seen spiders literally coming down from them onto my bed while I'm in it eat hing TV and the spiders are white or a light green... I have sprayed and sprayed. But there is also such a big whole if I remove everything I can see the sky from inside, is that normal? What can I do about that?
If any readers are reading this comment here is 100% accurate true like Chad and Tara advise. I purchase my RV back in 2013 a NRVTA inspector told me fill all gap with Pest Control Foam same can from this video and spray foot levers and electrical cord/water hose at ground level with insect spray same one from video. Now 2021 9yrs later, I never got any issues with pest/rotten and either with ants but got very few spiders that may find a way in from trees above. I also pick up all trash outside prior bed and have RV LED Markers Lights automatically turn on at sunset that turn off at sunrise DYI build while camping. Those marker lights also safe me multiple times from skunk passing by RV. Ohh I hate those. Cheers all.
DE is probably the best thing to put around your landing gear for ants and other exoskeleton type insects. It gets into the joints and basically paralyzes them. The ultrasonic repellants, I'm with you guys on them as well. I had a really bad pantry moth infestation due to some infested bird food I bought. I spent several years finally getting down to the point that I didn't have too many fluttering around my house. At the beginning of this year, I bought a two-pack of them and put one in my house hallway and put one in my kitchen, where I've had problems with sugar ants, and I've not seen an ant or moth in my house since I put them up. Just before I plugged them in, I did change the pheromone trap for the moths and caught two, but after I plugged in the repellers, nothing. Not 100% sure that is the reason, but I am not going to be taking them out anytime soon.
Mouth balls are very toxic to animals. We use mainly electronic deterrent inside and out. We had a rat in our Jeep once so we went to Lowe’s and bought an electronic device , mounted it on some 2 by 8 boards and stuck it under the Jeep, the rat was gone and now for 3 years we place it under our class A and never had any rodents inside.
@@1206jl we use victor pet chaser pro Heavy-Duty Sonic PestChaser Pest Repeller. You can buy them at Lowe’s or Amazon. My husband put them on two 2x4 boards screwed together to keep them off the ground and put them under the RV. We never had any problems.
I keep a bag of ant and inspect granules and sprinkle some around the tires, jacks, hoses and cords, basically anything that touches the ground and give a path to inside the RV. Also good to use around patio areas that may be full of ants due to previous campers slipping food etc on the ground.
You guys were right down the road. Love your videos and this one is definitely helpful for us. We’re a mile off the road on a lake in the woods. Mice are always a problem
Great Video Chad and Tara. We had our RV in the shop getting some things done and when we got it back we found LOTS of mouse droppings everywhere in the RV. I put out some of those sticky mats, but found nothing in them except a couple spiders or flies. We had some of those Downy dryer sheets, which seemed to work in those areas, but the little buggers even got into our silverware trays and left some of their pellet calling cards for us to clean up. I watched a UA-cam video on the electronic pest sonic devices (search for "Do Electronic Pest Repellers Work?") Also I wonder about your modified devices; if you cover them in tape, I wonder if that actually diminishes or even blocks the sonic output. If you have a decibel meter you could test that output with and without the tape. At any rate, these videos are very helpful and much appreciated. Stay Safe!
Cheers
Unhappily stuck in Ontario, can't go South, can't go East
My wife can hear them as well and was a similar reaction as was with your dog.
I’m in pest control , for Rats 🐀 I would use foam and steel wool .
Thank you for the tips! In one of our older travel trailer, a mother mouse climbed up the electric cord of the rv and gave birth to her babies under the bed. We had mouse traps going off every night...nightmare.
I used steel wool around my plumbing pipes from the inside, usually works, it’s not messy and easy to remove and put back if work needs to be done
@Chris Kibodeaux i don't believe they work either but i got a pack for free and i just use them to use them. Who knows
What brand of "plug in gizmo" do you use.
@@1206jl none of ones i tried worked.
Foam needs hardware cloth and screwed down…
Smelly stuff needs to be replaced often…
Motion alert cameras….
This is a list of many things tried and failed . 8-(
Used steel wool in utilities passages between basement and living quarters. No more mice!
I have lights in my storage compartments so I turn them on at night and crawl under my Rv and check for light.
Great Idea!
Welcome to our channel! 😊
It's about 60 to 1.. 90 to 1 for location videos.. 😳
Changing Lanes Well you do a excellent job Tara. Triple the ‘cheers 🍻’.
Thanks! 😊
We Both Love you Two and I personally TY as your Videos are a Real Treat for My Wife as She is seriously 😷 (Lupus) and Doesn’t Have Much Time and with your Videos Making Her Smile is Something That I just Can’t TY enough! God Bless you Both
Sorry to read this comment... I don’t know you but love and prayers for you, your wife and your family! The Lord Bless you and keep you!
Sending waves of Peace and Comfort to you and your Dear Wife, Jack. Namaste.
An idea to enhance the foam filling the holes and gaps. Stuff some steel wool in the gap first. Then spray the foam in. I’ve heard rodents can chew through the foam without the steel wool. Love your videos!!!
Rodents can chew through anything, that is how they their teeth sharpened. Their teeth constantly grow.
SO disgusting ! I am SO freaked out I found 4 and all trapped on glue strips but now I’m freaking out every lil sound
So freaked out
Eeek
Steel wool is flammable and also any exposed steel wool will rust.
I pack course steel wool in the openings underneath and then encase it in spray foam to keep the moisture out. Works like a champ.
I had a similar situation but it wasn't mice it was squirrels.
👍💗🙏
I could deal with random ants, insects, even mice, but spiders...no way. I'm a severe arachnaphobe and it's one of my biggest worries about RV'ing...
It took months to get them all.
loyd meeks with the ladybugs, did you happen to be in East Texas when that happened?
@@michellek1844 No we were in Eastern Oklahoma
We use fresh Bay Leaves they seem to work well at keeping the pests away. Especially when we store our rv for the winter.
What, no outtakes!! Great video! Very informative! Have an awesome weekend! Safe travels!
Sometimes, we just make no mistakes.. 😉
This works for me in the rv and bricks and morter. It keeps the mice and rats out. Also use them in my rentals
She only got mildly sick but doesn’t seem to be any dumber than before!🤦🏻♂️
The ultrasonic plug ins work, I've used them in my home for years👍🏿
Great video never thought about that but I use coffee grounds and nothing wants to come near it.
Re: Tom & pest control, OMG & huge lol... made my day!
(Love Tom & Cheri too...)
I bathe with Irish Spring and I’ve never had an infestation.
10 years, fresh cab, zero mice. We have a coroplast under belly and have not re-sealed anything. Would recommend fresh cab and Tom Cat which is a poison bait which I also put down.
Hello Navy. Spider tip, Mrs Muffet's revenge spider control. Really works indoor and outdoors. Thanks
The ultrasonic units work great. Honestly, in a rig your size you’d only need 2 to do the job, but that said 4 won’t hurt.
Great info 👍🏻 . Lovely to see you congregating with other creators in Evansville. Looking forward to the upgrades whenever they come out. You’re awesome!
Evansville Indiana?
Appreciate the information I live in a travel trailer full time I will definitely take that in mind especially the foam seal
No seriously we’re here in Georgia and we had a few of those giant palmetto bugs in our camper, dam it man. I rather just leave and buy a new camper.
😂🤣
I HEAR YOU!!!!😂😂😂
Same!!
The worst part about those is they can fly, I absolutely hate them,ugh...
Used the ultrasonic pest controllers, epic fail!! Spiders actually attached their webs to them and hung out there🙄
Good video. Also, good to hear you plan to work less. Hope it works out for you and praying Tara gets her health issues under control. Looking forward to seeing the upgrades. Stay safe guys.
Great info. I did the sealing holes which seamed to work best.
Happy Labor Day to y'all as well.
For my basements I use 3 Victor multi-kill electric mouse traps and if I'm glamping near a city I use the goodnature Co2 powdered rat and mouse trap..
Looking. A 24 CO2 pro trapping kit
Amazingly the Electric
Plug-ins did the job.
Glad they worked for you... Sleep tight! 😉
Ok yeah "sleep tight"? funny 😁, thanks guy love your channel
Thanks for showing Daisy 🥰
Take some time off. Enjoy your life. We will wait and enjoy your refreshed and rejuvenated post when you’re ready.
Thank you for the advice! I tried the ultrasonic repellants and they have not worked in my current RV. I’m actually trading in my 42ft 5er for a smaller footprint (since it’s just me now) and I’ll be trying peppermint oil and foam in the openings in my new RV.. 🙏🏾
the Twin traps rat exterminator channel set traps next to the ultrasonic repellants & catch rats there
This is the only thing I’m worried about with rv life. LOL
Thought I recognized that blue Jeep behind you...I watch too much of all of your channels! LOL. Keep up the great work!
I sealed up all the entry points and use Cab Fresh. Going on 12 years and no pests, plus the Cab Fresh is pet friendly and smell nice
Great comments here!... Believe it or not I've changed out the mud flaps on my coach which tend to touch the ground after the air comes out of the suspension... Somehow the new rubber has deterred the little bastards from coming in and making a home of our rig... So far so good!...
Or they do not now smell mouse tracks in…spray beach water to mask trails in to rv
Hopefully y’all are well...I’ve had to hang up RV life for a while due to illness...stay happy and safe
Hope you feel better!
Great advice... can't wait to see the work you've done on your rig. Happy travels!
Great video guys thanks for sharing all these tips.
Lmao! I knew that blue Jeep looked familiar! 😂
I love my electric “tennis racket.” The sizzle sound is so satisfying when getting rid of pesky flies and mosquitos.
I am glad the shorter videos will allow you to take care of yourselves. I really appreciate your in-depth advice though, too. Maybe you could create a video series to cover some of the more complicated topics, although you have covered quite a bit.
The Original Irish Spring works well to keep mice out. Good ideas. Thanks for sharing.
We use Fresh Cab. It has worked 100%. We put it in all our bottom bays.
I have been in pest control for 20 years and those mouse plugins that make noise are a scam. Sorry!
What brand of electronic deterrent do you use?
Stay Safe!
