Honestly, if there ever was a definition of a "Christmas Miracle", it was when Hell itself turned to Heaven. The Christmas Truce to me stands as one of the brightest moments of humanity in the 20th century, if not still today.
But even though is was true,there is still some devil try to prevent this(higher rank officer and commander)
@@Bikavin You are very right! And it shows, how man are really if they come to know each other: They realize that we´re all brothers. And that is what makes live peaceful and happy. And all the hate comes from the stories, higher ranks an politicians tell them/us. No matter on wich side. Lest we forget!!!

My great-great-grandfather survived this war thanks to a horse - she kicked him in the knee and it went back the other way - so he was able to return home and did not participate in the Civil War in Russia afterwards.

I'm from Russia, I watch this movie every year before the New Year. For me, this is the most Christmas Movie, where the theme of meeting the holiday with the family at home is very heartwarming, and most importantly gives hope for a miracle - that someday people will stop fighting and it will be possible to learn about the war only from films.

Some one made a video on that long story short germany gets lots of land in Russia and becomes the dominant power in Europe because the Christmas truce only happened on the western front and ww2 happens because the other countries are unsitfed with how the war when and ww2 is just a Continuation of the 1st World War just with a stronger Germany.

walked down the stairs (had just woke up) and this was playing on the radio, 08:30 AM on a Saturday, 6 days away from X-mas. One of the best morning coffe moments right there.
Apparently soldiers on both sides had to be rotated out because they refused to fight after the truce

Never happened again not in any war anywhere. But for one day, one Christmas a very long time ago everyone just put down there weapons and started to sing, moarn the fallen, celebrate the best way they could.
It's not liking with events in the world to see that.

It would be good for all the people of the world to see the video and hear this song. I have read about this very touching event in the novel GREAT WAR by Serbian writer Aleksandar Gatalica, which was awarded by the best awards here. So, I know that this never happened again because supreme commands forbade friendships and brotherhood among the soldiers of the two sides... This is an example of antiwar song, covered by this precious video!

Душевно. Я, конечно, не понимаю, как это можно резать друг друга 4 месяца, а потом бухать на Рождество и снова резать друг-друга, но клип сделали очень душевный. Да и фильмы эти надо посмотреть.

Joyeux Noël... one of the best war movies I've seen, I really want to see the other ones of this video, but I just ended that one... and I couldn't just stop crying as I watched it and remembered this song...
Also, the music video is pretty nice, good job, I'll check the other movies now, thank you, Merry Christmas, even if it's a bit early.
Perfect movie for Christmas, I even showed it to my friends on Christmas Night, at first they were a little reluctant to have a French/German Movie for a movie, but they decided to give it a go, during the first scene they thought i was showing them a war movie, but, at some point during the movie it was more and more about a Christmas movie in it's own rights....
Guns stop firing, soldiers on both sides stuck on the frontlines with nothing to do and thinking about their families, and only wanting to go home in one piece...
Yeah, a wonderful movie to see, especially on Christmas...

Every time I think about this event, I try to figure out what was going on in the heads of the soldiers when they had to keep on fighting after these days of peace... can't even imagine their struggle.
Great Video, I love the movie it is one of my favourites and the song is a masterpiece of course.
A lot of the troops had to be moved to other fronts since they refused to fire on people they had just spent Christmas with

Over one hundred years ago. Soldiers stopped killing each other for a short period of time to enjoy Christmas. Yet I can't have a Christmas without fighting with my stupid cousin over politics.

Я читала, что рождественские перемирия были, в основном, только между немцами, англичанами и французами. Возможно, в Рождество и были перемирия между русскими и немцами, но в основном они приходились на время Пасхи, так как она часто могла совпадать как и у католиков, так и у христиан.
Французам немного противно тогда было общаться с немцами из-за того что война задела их территорию.

After 1914, there weren't any similar truces like this, if there were a truce it would've been out of necessity (Gallipoli campaign , but did make soldiers do the same thing as in the Christmas Truce unless you're British) or forced upon, (A WW2 Christmas Truce between a small squad of Americans and Germans in a Belgian home during the Ardennes Offensive)
