Intro 3: by NF (song breakdown) Fear: What, are you scared of me? That's embarrassing. If it wasn't for me, you would've never wrote Therapy. I've been here for you, but how come you're never there for me? It's a little bit twisted, but I miss when you and I had scary dreams Nathan: I don't really wanna talk about it Fear: Well, that's too bad now, Nate, shut up! Now where were we? Yeah, it's time for the third record, and you know I got the content. I don't wanna make you nervous, but it ain't like it used to be. We got a lotta people watchin'. You told me that you don't want me in your life, that's pretty hard to digest. And I told you I'd leave when we die, and we ain't died yet. Therapy Session was beautiful, Nate, but I'm wonderin' what's comin' next. Yeah, get that stupid hat off of your head when I'm talkin' to you, you hear what I said? You don't like the prison I built you? Yeah, you wanna know what the funny thing is? You keep on talkin' to me like a stranger, but we've been together since you were a kid, yeah. Took us from a no-name, told you everything was okay, now you tryna cut me out of it like I ain't never been a part of it, I am the heart of it, I made this whole thing. Yeah, I put us on the dope stage. You must have no brain. What's the point of having guns if you can't aim? What's the point of having blood with no veins? What's the point of having love with no pain? What I'm sayin' is me without you doesn't make any sense. I know I'm intense and controlling, but you need to learn how to cope with it. That's just the way that it is. If you didn't want me to live in your house, you shouldn't have let me move in. It's comfortable here and I like it, I got my own room and everything. It don't get better than this! You say you wanna own your life, then wake up and take your own advice. You just mad 'cause you know I'm right. Yeah, I'm flattered you put me in Mansion, But you should've told 'em right. Held your hands on the coldest nights. You didn't tell 'em 'bout the times you and I used to hold the mic, I mean, what are you, outta your mind? 'Cause both of us will be- Nathan: Come on, let's go outside! Fear: Is this what you wanted? We got a record to drop, so why you actin' like I'm not a part of it? Nathan: Where is my shovel at? Fear: Prolly out back, where it always is. You can't get rid of all of me, I'm the reason why- Nathan: Nah, shut up, I don't wanna hear another sentence. Fear: Hey, I'm NF, "Is it me or the fear talkin'?" Ha! What a dumb question! Yeah, it's real music 'til the day we die, right? Yeah, ain't that the slogan, Nathan? Nathan: Thought I told you to keep your mouth shut. Fear: I mean, so what? You know I never listen. Let me guess, we gon' dig a hole, kill the track, and prolly put a beat in it. Rap about it for like three minutes... aye, that's pretty deep, isn't it? Wait a minute, you don't really think for a second that you're puttin' me in this? Nathan: No, of course not, just a lil' deeper. Then we'll go inside and we can stop digging. Fear: Woo! You had me scared for a second, I thought we were diggin' my grave- Nathan: We did, what, you don't like bein' afraid? Here’s a dose of your own medicine. What, you don't like how it tastes? My therapist told me don't bury my issues. But I'ma be honest, man, I'm feelin' great! I think it's only right we go back to where you were created. I wrote a song for Johnny without you, but he ain't gon' like it, let's see how he takes it. He probably don't even remember us, does he? I wish I was buryin' anger, but both of us know I'ma need him for that song. He still lives in the basement. Almost done, shoulda done this a year ago. I don't know why I waited. You know how I get, I put everything off of my personal life, you hear what I'm sayin'? That was a joke.. Yeah, it's hilarious, ain't it? You'll spend the rest of your life in my backyard. Or back of my mind, depends how you see it. Put the shovel away, time to go back in the house now, you'll be out in a week. Tellin' me you want your room back, that's funny; What, you ain't got nowhere to sleep? I'ma just look out the window and laugh at you, this is crazy to me, ‘Cause I thought you had me in prison this whole time, but I'm the one holdin' the keys. *this is how i visualize the song*
Y’all are so much fun to watch!! I love the way you pay attention and are able to pull so much out of each song. His music is “meaty”. It’s frustrating when people don’t take the time to appreciate it and just skim over the words. Y’all give him the credit he’s due. LOVE IT!
"This what you wanted, both of us out in the open" I think that's the line where NF comes in, when they step outside the Mansion and start going back and forth
OH SNAP. Love this one 😂. I’m the one holding the keys 🗝🖤. I’ve really enjoyed watching you two progress through this journey. The first couple videos you two liked it but were a bit unsure, didn’t have much to say. Now it’s just so much fun with you two. Totally into it. Really open and absolutely getting it! Sharing, enjoying, living the journey. Welcome to the NF Fam. This is why we roll together.

0:36 YES! Finally! I have been saying he's been talking to fear this entire time! Because later in the song it says It's comfortable here and I like it, I got my own room and everything" Its referencing Mansion when Nate said "It must've found a room and settled in." Thank you.
The moment you realized the reference of the keys in outro and in the end 😁🔥there are gonna be more references of the keys (the NF fam knows what I'm talking about😏 I'll just be the outcast😁)
Such a great reaction. I'm loving you going through the journey. Its great watching intelligent discourse and relations without the over-reacting and dramatisation found on so many other channels. Keep it up!
"Mansions" established the house and safe place "Therapy sessions" helped him work thru the problems in each room of the house And "perception" changes his perception. The search...i cant tell u yet. No spoilers
NF never switches he voice between himself and fear because they are one in the same. We as humans need all of these emotions for fight and flight. The Perception is crazy!

Bruh! You guys be putting in work pumping out videos! But I appreciate it. Im an nf fan but you turned me onto harry mack. Here's to hoping you get through the search before his mixtapes!
I think you got the point of the song when you said that " you are more powerful than your demons" cause you have the keys to your mansion (mind). What you let inside is what affects you. Being influenced by dark things in the world will ultimately cause you hardships. Gotta avoid that and draw closer to the light (God). These are Biblical teachings. The rabbit hole goes deep! But ill end right there. Great reactions! Keep them coming!
When you started asking who was talking and was it fear. I’m like shaking my head saying nope. My wife was looking at me sideways. NF literally takes you through his whole life. He has such an amazing way of painting a picture with words and emotions that we all can relate to. Just remember that under everything he does is hope. We all need a reason to keep fighting.
Love y’all reaction keep it up, amazed that y’all knew nate was rapping in fears prospective y’all one of the first reactors to catch it right away. I’m going to keep asking for y’all to react to Don Trip- Disappointed until y’all do.
I liken him more to a Picasso, but great point. And this is why we love the Journey! This right here! Watching you guys discover this is like watching a movie for us! Love you guys! Outcast is next and set up perfectly! But then not matter what is on the list, after Outcast you need to do Remember This which is tied into this song in a very subtle, but profound way.
I saw a video where he was talking about his therapy. One of the exercises was writing a note to yourself and your fears. I feel like this is a result of some of those exercises.
Please listen to every song in order from here on out! He’s on of the last artists to truly tell a story, they’re all part of the journey! Can’t wait for more!
"I don't really wanna talk about it." "I wish mom was here." These are the first times NF "talks back" to Fear. Then later he starts arguing and Fear makes that callback to Mansion, when Mate talked about how in order to get rid of fear he'd have to open that door, and then mutters "is that me or the fear talking? I don't know anymore," like he's recognising that Fear is starting to dig its claws in and putting words in his mouth. And it's haunted him constantly, got him wondering if his pain is the only reason the fans are around and if he "got better," if he got rid of the pain and was happy would they turn on him, think he was taking it for clout, or that he's "not being real anymore" if his life changes and the tone of his music changed with it. But in this song he's finally confronting those thoughts. Fear is throwing it all in his face again telling him how he wouldn't be here without him. "I'M the reason why-" and Mate cuts him off saying he doesn't want to hear it anymore. Fear keeps presisting and Mate snaps back "thought I told you to keep your mouth shut." But Fear won't shut up, he's mocking Mate and his "process" (he's madecreference to writing music as not just "killin' it" but "slaughter and bury 'em"), cracking jokes about the hole he's digging. Then boom, thud, 100% Nate from then on. He's got something he has to say and fear will only hold him back so he's got to bury it for now, but do what he's gotta do quick because "you'll be out in a week, telling me you want your room back." This is the song of his that has resonated with me more strongly than any other (Mansion being a close second though) because I have had these conversations so many times with a voice I've come to call "Cid" (or the "Constant Internal Dialogue"). We had a guest speaker, Kevin Ford, come to my church a few years back and when I went up for prayer he just looked at me for a minute with this incredulous half-smile on his face, and then he asked "are you EVER quiet?" People in my church who have "known" me since I was 6 were like "That's Corey. He hasn't said ten words since we first met. He's ALWAYS quiet." But that wasn't what he was asking. And he was right. I honestly have forgotten what silence sounds like to the point I wonder if I ever knew it in the first place. And it's why I love that line in "The Search" when he's talking about arguing with the voices and then says "you can't relate to that? Must not be as crazy as I am." Like this dude gets it. That feeling like out of 7.8 billion people in the world absolutely nobody can understand the first thing about you. Like you operate on a completely different plane of existence. An alien in your own world. It's why he almost instantly became one of my all-time favorite artists because I feel he's one of the tiny handful of people in the whole world who just might be running on the same frequency I am.
Brad had it dead on, it is fear that’s doing the talking, except for the end where NF said where is the shovel at and after he knocked fear out, also if you re-listen you can hear a tone difference between fear and NF, but it’s awesome you caught on right away most people don’t catch it’s fear at all they think it’s just NF, if you come at the song with the concept of knowing it’s fear, the song makes more sense
Great reaction! This is easily NFs best track in my opinion, not just cause of the song, but cause of what it sits on. Still wished you guys would have done “Lost in the Moment” first cause that is Nate pleading with himself to finally face his issues so he can be free. His final line is “one of these days you’ll have to deal with the things you talk about, but until then we’re lost.” Intro 3 he takes his advice and faces the root of his issues... FEAR!

Y'all are halfway through. Have you ever experienced another artist that has such an evolution in their story over 4 full albums. The "journey" is REAL.
Brad and Lex, I would love to break now the song for y’all but I am doing something right now so here is another reaction of Intro 3, he explains the song well for y’all to understand. ua-cam.com/video/mpo69B1OB-U/v-deo.html
ИF is asking for the shovel. Intro2 video had the shovel outback with ИF digging a hole. He also had the shovel in Outro in the left back corner of the airplane. It's hard to catch unless you're looking for it. You can see the handle when he says "I'm not a rap God I don't need y'all to bow to me".
Idk if you did NF song Change or not but it's a must. But I believe it's the song that set the tone for future NF music. Also it has a hint of Prince in it. Too bad they couldn't have collabed on it
I think Johnny is one of his mother’s old boyfriend who took him down stairs to beat till he screamed and cried ( FROM MANSION). He says he probably don’t remember us that’s because he probably always high back then when he abused Nate
In intro 2 when he was digging the hole he didn't get a chance to finish it. Notice that he said in intro 3 "Just a little deeper and we can stop digging" also "I should have done this a year ago but I put everything off in my personal life". He meant to kill fear in therapy session but for some reason he didn't.
Lots of overlaps in this song with Therapy Session, Mansion, and all the Intro songs. We all face fear, but, through God, we will stand up and not be afraid! 🙌🏻

So glad y’all are enjoying yourselves! So many people don’t take the time to do it but then end up losing out on so much meaning.

Fear: Woo! You had me scared for a second, I thought we were diggin' my grave-
Nathan: We did, what, you don't like bein' afraid?
"Listening to INTO 3 trying to kill my fear. They'll get that in a minute"
Nf outro
Y’all are so much fun to watch!! I love the way you pay attention and are able to pull so much out of each song. His music is “meaty”. It’s frustrating when people don’t take the time to appreciate it and just skim over the words. Y’all give him the credit he’s due. LOVE IT!
🙏🏽🙏🏾🖤 he’s so cold, can’t imagine doing it any other way 🥶
Always click on the notifications whenever I see you upload, keep up the good work
Congratulations! You just experienced NF's masterpiece.
"This what you wanted, both of us out in the open" I think that's the line where NF comes in, when they step outside the Mansion and start going back and forth
One of my favorite NF songs, loved your reaction!! I always enjoy your reactions, you're one of my favorite NF reactors.
Suchhhhh a well written song. I love how Nate paints a picture in all of these tracks! Can’t wait for y’all to hear Outcast... It’s still my favorite NF track and likely always will be! Much love you two! 🗝🛒🎈
0:36 YES! Finally! I have been saying he's been talking to fear this entire time! Because later in the song it says It's comfortable here and I like it, I got my own room and everything" Its referencing Mansion when Nate said "It must've found a room and settled in." Thank you.
I was waiting for this one since your first time you listen to NF
The moment you realized the reference of the keys in outro and in the end 😁🔥there are gonna be more references of the keys (the NF fam knows what I'm talking about😏 I'll just be the outcast😁)
Such a great reaction. I'm loving you going through the journey. Its great watching intelligent discourse and relations without the over-reacting and dramatisation found on so many other channels. Keep it up!
Love watching you guys falling in love with NF, he is my fav artist and your channel is amazing 💕💕
"Mansions" established the house and safe place
"Therapy sessions" helped him work thru the problems in each room of the house
And "perception" changes his perception.
The search...i cant tell u yet. No spoilers
NF never switches he voice between himself and fear because they are one in the same. We as humans need all of these emotions for fight and flight. The Perception is crazy!
NF featuring FEAR...

I absolutely love y'alls reactions! I feel like Brad, you have a very objective sort of calculated analysis and Lex, you have a very subjective and deep analysis connected to emotions/relatability.
Like the left and right halves of one brain. Awesome.
Lol that is a great way to put it!!! 😆 i love this comment 🖤
Another great reaction! 👍I really enjoy watching you two discuss the videos. It allows me to get different perspectives of the video.
This song is on so many levels! I’m glad I found you guys to watch you go through the journey. Welcome to the NF fam. Outcast should be next and that’s one of my favorites. I hope you two like it as much as I do
love how you two made the connection between this song mansion and outro
So love your reactions.
I really engage with you both.
Thank you 😊
Loving the analysis y’all give, it’s in depth and very intellectual. Awesome! Love these reactions 👏
Love how you guys really get into the videos, great reaction as always, thank you!!
I'm really excited for you guys to get to perception and the search albums these is when he is really killing it from here on
Best REactions EVER ! keep it up guys. I like the passion you have when you talk about Everything.
It's so cool to see you both enjoying the journey!!
This is so fun---getting to watch you guys live the NF journey--it reminds me of mine! Great job guys.
Thanks Christopher 🖤 we were just recommended the search and thought it was a one time thing, now we’re over here healing and rediscovering ourselves with a whole online family lol thanks for the support 💯 forreal
Loving that you know it's fear from the beginning. Took me half the song to figure it out. But I didn't know about the journey back then
😆😆 he’s always dropping Easter eggs
@@BradAndLex I know. It's amazing. I've never noticed any other artists that links their music the way that NF does. He's definitely an artist painting us a picture. Not just a rapper
You two are great! Love your reactions, genuine as can be.
NF tweeted this song took him like 2 weeks to write and he was shaking writing the song..
This is one of, if not my favorite, tracks of his. Its a masterpiece. The NF journey should be a movie with fear being the main antagonist.
I binged watch all the NF episodes and I can’t wait for the next video!!!! Come on!!!!
Everytime Brad says: "It's all I have on this one" I start singing All I have (NF)
Lol I was just watching older reactions and this popped up
Yesss! I'm glad you took the journey! Yes fear!
Been waiting for this one. Great reaction and analysis. 👍
And it comes up outta nowhere like an evil surprise
to hover over u and tell u millions of lies.
He was shoveling in *INTRO 2* .
7:50 When fear says, "Let me guess, we gonna dig a hole, kill a track, probably put a beat in it..." that line was referencing the song *Motivated* .
8:20 Fear was created when Jonny (Nate's stepdad/Mom's boyfriend would take him to the basement and abuse him. ( *Mansion* )
*NO SPOILERS*
Love seeing the fresh reactions to the NF “universe” lol. Outcast plays so well off the ending of this.
It’s fun watching you take this journey 👏👏👏
My favorite NF reactions come from you guys
Loved this reaction you guys are awesome
Lyrical Michelangelo, love that description!❤️
🖤🖤🖤
100!!! Great reaction! Stay blessed!
The songs “10 feet down” and “My Life” are really amazing and both are on Perception.
I recommend just checking those out on your own time.
❤️
I liken him more to a Picasso, but great point. And this is why we love the Journey! This right here! Watching you guys discover this is like watching a movie for us! Love you guys! Outcast is next and set up perfectly! But then not matter what is on the list, after Outcast you need to do Remember This which is tied into this song in a very subtle, but profound way.
I saw a video where he was talking about his therapy. One of the exercises was writing a note to yourself and your fears. I feel like this is a result of some of those exercises.
Get your popcorn ready 🍿😂
Please listen to every song in order from here on out! He’s on of the last artists to truly tell a story, they’re all part of the journey! Can’t wait for more!
"And there's no video..." Nail on the head I was gutted there was no video to go with this OR mansion 😭🤣
He's got something he has to say and fear will only hold him back so he's got to bury it for now, but do what he's gotta do quick because "you'll be out in a week, telling me you want your room back."
This is the song of his that has resonated with me more strongly than any other (Mansion being a close second though) because I have had these conversations so many times with a voice I've come to call "Cid" (or the "Constant Internal Dialogue").
I think this is one of his most brilliant songs lyrically.
In the search he mentions the resurfing of unresolved issues, he is teaching people how to take care of his life, so uplifiting
Got here as soon as possible!
He's getting rid of fear. Not just burying it, but obliterating it. I can't wait for you guys to see/hear the rest!
Yeassssss. Yall got it quickly.
Ahhhhhh. Outcast coming up! Can't wait for you to see what's next!
Great reaction! This is easily NFs best track in my opinion, not just cause of the song, but cause of what it sits on.
Still wished you guys would have done “Lost in the Moment” first cause that is Nate pleading with himself to finally face his issues so he can be free. His final line is “one of these days you’ll have to deal with the things you talk about, but until then we’re lost.”
Intro 3 he takes his advice and faces the root of his issues... FEAR!
Ohhh yes that would’ve been interesting!! We’re just following the journey list that’s pinned on a lot of these and it wasn’t one of the recommended videos 😅🤷🏽♀️
@@BradAndLex I know, for some reason people don’t put it on the journey and it needs to be on there. If nothing else it’s a great song you guys should go react or listen to. Definitely worth it 🤙🏼
A masterpiece really😍😍🙌
Outcast is 🔥. There’s an obvious line in the chorus where you can tell was the inspiration for Clouds!
🔥🔥💯💯 reaction, I think you missed Nate saying listen to Intro III trying to kill my fear, didn't want to mention it and spoil this one... You were still quick to figure out fear!! Perception album has so many great tracks, hope you add them to your list... One Hundred, Dreams, Know, Destiny, and 3AM to name a few.. NFrealmusic 💯💯
What a journey to behold.
Yes parts of it is definitely NF talking
Y'all are so cute together, love y'all
much love ❤❤❤❤
*SPOILER ALERT:*
This is the fastest *ANYONE* has figured out that NF was arguing with FEAR!
WTG!
Right!!! They actually listened to Mansion first, and were able to figure it out.
Well, except for Ernest who said it before he even listened to the song.
But big kudos to them for figuring it out so quickly.
@@anonymousformysafety4941 , I had listened to Slick Rick, Em, and DMX, so I knew something was up.
@@christroop What do those artists have to do with them figuring out it was fear?? I'm confused
@@anonymousformysafety4941 , they all had similar songs (rapping a conversation with themselves)

It starts as fear, there are a few lines Nate responds, then Nate starts taking over more and more!
This is the one song i relate to the most.
There are lots of references to rooms in his Mansion if you listen closely to the songs. For example, he mentions Ego being in his room in Trust
Anger lives in the basement, remember the basement is where his beaten until he screamed and cried as he said in Mansion.
Looking forward to. ( remember this ) reaction by NF
I love y’all so much, but be a team. You both have so much to offer
